OUTDOOR ADVENTURE TRIPS Safe, Sensational travel adventures for ages 10 to 15 One or two-week trips in the NE, SE, and Midwest regions where campers can experience exciting outdoor adventure activities including hiking, camping, white adventure and so much more. One-week trips for 10 to 12-year-olds introduce the fun and discovery of outdoor adventures. Campers sleep in camp and go to a new Outdoor Adventure every day!
2014 TRIPS Delaware River Adventure ($679) June 29- July 4 • Ages 12 to 15 New York, Pennsylvania Explore the Upper Delaware River National Scenic River the best way possible – by canoe! Get ready to rough it on this YMCA staff guided trip down the Delaware River.
Empire State Adventures ($1,739) July 6 - July 18 • Ages 12 to 15 New York Get a taste of what New York State has to offer as we explore the regions of the Empire state! Experience the Adirondacks, Finger Lakes, Catskills, and Niagara regions through hiking, climbing, rafting and caving.
Healthy Meals!
Nutrition is an important element of each trip. Meal selection is provided by our food service professionals and prepared by trip leaders following New York State Health Department regulations. Vegetarian options are available at each meal, and all other dietary restrictions can be accommodated.
Safety is our primary focus and our staff are Responder, Lifeguarding, and First-Aid/ CPR. Trip leaders receive two weeks of training focused on working with children and ensuring safety in an outdoor environment. All trips depart from and arrive back at camp. *All campers must pass a swim test at camp to attend each trip.
Southeast Adventures ($1,799) July 20 - August 1 • Ages 12 to 15 Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia Kayak, surf, climb, and raft your way through the South! Notable destinations include Assateague Island National Seashore in Virginia, Cape Hatteras National Seashore in North Carolina, The Smoky Mountains, and the New River Gorge.
Introductory Adventures ($679) August 3 - August 8 • Ages 10 to 12 Activities include hiking and rock climbing in the Shawangunk Mountains, kayaking and tubing on the Delaware River, and team building elements at the NY YMCA Camp. Campers will learn and practice basic camping skills at the YMCA Adventure Village.
Great Lakes Adventures ($1,799) August 10 - August 22 • Ages 12 to 15 New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin Sightsee and camp on all 5 of the Great Lakes! Experience the beauty of these National treasures! Throw in some hiking at Sleeping Bear Dunes and whitewater rafting in Northern Wisconsin and you’ve got the recipe for a fantastic time.
