CREATIVE EXPRESSION

SWIMMING LESSONS

SPORTS ON THE A-FIELD

Create drawings, jewelry and ceramics. Perform drama, music, and dance. Develop media skills with photography and radio.

Feel safe & comfortable in the water on our floating playground, the Wibit. Our certified lifeguards and swimming instructors teach every skill level.

Exercise, develop skills, and learn teamwork on the athletic field with a combination of lessons and fun competition.

BOATING

Learn survival skills, outdoor cooking, and get familiar with our camp garden. Campers can truly enjoy the great outdoors on our 1,150 acre property.

Climb to tree-top heights, cross from tower to tower and fly through the sky on our certified Ropes Course and High Team Elements.

Enjoy boating, canoeing, kayaking, tubing or standup paddle-boarding on one of our three beautiful lakes.

*Ranch Activity Requirements: Campers must be at least 7 years old, weigh at least 50lbs and be 50” or taller for ranch activities.

*Water Activity Requirements: Campers must be ages 12 to 15, and pass a YMCA swim test for special water activities.

PROGRESSIVE ACTIVITIES Progressive activities are for campers to not only gain experience in an activity, but also to walk away with knowledge of how that activity works and improved individual skills.

McAlister campers will learn Levels 1 and 2 of an activity by learning the origin, fundamentals, and basic techniques. Talcott staff will recap and evaluate where campers are in the activity, and move on to Levels 3 and 4. Campers will use advanced motor skills, detailed instructions and learn advanced skill sets.

Cabin mates: Campers live with five to seven same-aged children in a rustic cabin with their well-trained, supportive counselors.

Healthy Meals*: Meals are served buffet style. Breakfast includes a hot entree, fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal. Lunch and dinner includes a hot entree, full salad bar and sandwiches. *Vegetarian options are available.

Professional Staff: Counselors and medical staff are on duty 24 hours a day. Counselors are trained to ensure safety, and support each and every camper’s growth.
