Statewide Harm Reduction Supply Delivery Logistics & Fulfillment Associate (PT) Alameda, CA Logistics & Operations Coordinator and California State Director $20 per hour with 100% employer sponsored healthcare Part-time non-exempt, 32 hrs/week preferably Mon - Thurs

Overview Missions and Overview: NEXT Harm Reduction/NEXT Distro (NEXT) provides online and mail-based harm reduction resources. The platform nextdistro.org works to ensure that people who cannot access in-person syringe exchange programs or naloxone distribution can still receive harm reduction education, resources, support, and supplies. NEXT mails naloxone, syringes and safer injection supplies, fentanyl test strips, safer smoking supplies, safer sex supplies, and other harm reduction materials to program participants. Berkeley NEED is a collectively-run needle exchange program dedicated to reducing and preventing infectious diseases and other harm among the injection drug-using community. NEED offers free anonymous services in a participant-centered manner. NEED views supporting and improving the overall health and well being of people who use drugs as crucial public health work. NEXT Distro operates across the state of California through partnership with Berkeley NEED. The Logistics & Fulfillment Associate will be an employee of Berkeley NEED, though will be housed within NEXT’s Alameda office to execute duties for the NEXT program statewide. This is an extremely fast paced and physically laborious position that will be responsible for packaging, mailing, accurate digital record keeping, receiving of bulk supply orders, and inventory management. This position works alongside another Logistics & Fulfillment Associate, is supervised by the Logistics & Operations Coordinator and the California State Director, and is supported by national program staff as well as various per diem employees and program volunteers. As the Logistics & Fulfillment Associate is an instrumental part of critically essential, life-saving shipping operations serving thousands of people across the state of California, a high degree of commitment and reliability is required for this position. This position is part-time though qualifies for full benefits including PTO accrual and 100% employer sponsored health insurance. This position requires ability to manage incoming orders using an .xls spreadsheet with multiple interconnected functions (multiple tabs, comment/note function, etc), to communicate effectively across various digital platforms (chat, text, email, video call, and other online forms), to manage physical labor safely, to accurately record outgoing supplies and shipments on an evolving digital platform, to collaborate with other staff members (both in-person and remote) to solve problems, and to prepare specific supplies for shipment in a sterile environment. This role is best thought of as a warehouse and logistics position, using a tech-based platform, with a harm reduction focus. Essential Functions Work on a team of various part and full time staff both locally and nationally. Complete work successfully both ● independently and collaboratively. Manage supply requests through an online spreadsheet based system ● Bulk preparation of harm reduction supplies including syringes and overdose reversal supplies, with support from per ● diem employees and program volunteers Page 1 of 2
