NEXThasexperiencedsignificantgrowthoverthepastthreeyearsandweareseekingafull-timeremoteFiscal Directortoleadfinanceandaccountingfunctions.NEXTcurrentlyusesQuickbooksOnlineandallrecordsare maintainedelectronically.OurphysicalofficeislocatedinNewYorkCity.
EssentialFunctions
● EnsureNEXThastheproperfinancialcontrolsandsystemsinplacetoeffectivelygrowtheorganizationto ensurefinancialstrength,efficiency,andsustainability
● Month-endandyear-endclose,costallocation,revenuerecognition,cashmanagement,andmanagementof restrictedgrants
● Maintaingeneralledgerandmakeallappropriatejournalentries
● Budgetpreparationforindividualgrantsaswellastheorganization-widebudgetthatintegratesallindividual grantbudgets Grant/budgetmanagementandbillingforeachgrantpercontract
● Accountsreceivable Ensurefundersarekeepingcurrentwiththegrantbilling
● Timelypreparationandsubmissionofvouchersandreportingtofunders
● Costanalysisandallocationincompliancewithandacrosscontractswhichmightleadtotimelypreparation andsubmissionofbudgetmodifications
● Updateallocationsofexpenseswhentherearebudgetmodificationsornewfundingstreamsreceived
● Monthly,quarterly,andyearlyreportingtoorganizationalleadership,mustkeepmanagementproactively apprisedonallfiscalmatters
● Payandallocateacrossgrantsvendorinvoicesthroughcheck,onlinebankingorotherelectronicplatforms
● Superviseapayrollbookkeeper
Requirements
● Minimumof5yearssuccessfulnon-profitfinancialmanagementexperienceinpositionswithincreasing responsibility,strongaccounting,experiencewithauditsandgovernmentfunders
● Minimumof5yearsexperiencewithQuickBooksOnline,specificallywithfundaccountingandornon-profit accounting
● Minimumoftwofullaudits,workingwithauditors,preparingyearendclosingadjustingentriesforAR,AP, Prepaidexpensesaswellasrecordingofrestrictedfundbalancesforgrants
● Advancedexcelexperienceandtheabilitytopreparefinancialinformationinexcel,grantbudgetsandanalysis ofvariousexpensesfortheaudit
● High-levelknowledgeofGAAPfornon-profitaccountingandunderstandingofnon-profitcompliance requirements
● Timelyresponsivenesstoallinquiriesfrombothinsidetheorganizationandoutsidewithfunders
● Abilitytopresentfinancialinformationclearlyandconciselytopeoplewithlowlevelsoffinancialknowledge
● Reliableandtrustworthy,abilitytoeffectivelycommunicateverballyandthroughphone/email
● Experienceinamultistate/nationalorganizationaplus
● Abilitytoworkindependentlywithminimalsupervision
