An introduction to Harm Reduction.

Harm Reduction is an action-based movement focused on shifting power and resources to people who use drugs and who are most vulnerable to racialized drug policies.

Fueled by the tradition of community care, Harm Reduction provides tools and services to minimize potential harm and promote optimal health/wellbeing.

This includes: syringe exchanges, free Naloxone/ Narcan, support of safer drug use strategies, and advocacy for safe consumption sites.

To promote the well-being of the Harm Reduction community, people who use drugs are actively involved and have a voice in the creation of services, programs, and resources designed to serve them.

WE LOVE U

Harm Reduction recognizes the discrimination that people who use drugs face through poverty, classism, racism, ableism, sexism, past trauma, and other social inequalities. Therefore, Harm Reduction actively challenges the prison industrial complex, the War on Drugs, and supports the abolition of the oppressive colonial systems that primarily impact BIPOC (Black/Indigenous/People of Color) across the country.
