The X-Collection consist of extraordinary time pieces that are designed and produced in The Netherlands. NeXtime wants to make time pieces important in the interior design market. Design, architecture and time have always been connected in many ways. Many buildings are of timeless beauty and show their shadow through time. There are also many buildings and temples that were speciďŹ cally intended to show time or season. These structures showed when to harvest, when winter was over or when it was the longest day. People built the most amazing monuments to show time. Maybe for this reason many great architects until the middle of the 20th century used the most amazing clocks in their creations and interiors. They designed clocks that ďŹ tted perfectly into their buildings. They made clocks for hallways, rooms, behind reception desks, everywhere. Time is an important part of our modern lives and architects in the far and recent past realized this. With the X-Collection we also want to preserve the workmanship and celebrate the long lasting tradition of Dutch clockmakers which dates back to Christiaan Huygens, the inventor of the pendulum movement. In the old times clock made sounds. In the last 20 years quartz movements were used and unfortunately the sound feature got lost. With this robust and honest design we want to bring back a small bell sound to announce the hour. The bell sound is subtle and beautiful and combines wonderfully with the robust design.
We can almost call this design a golden oldie. We made this model as a room divider in the past but hanging it close to the wall gives a beautiful effect with light.
