Wacom Intuos Pro Intuos Pro tablets are the ideal tools for photographers, providing all the efficiencies of working with a Wacom pen tablet in a compact, smart and affordable package. Customisable ‘ExpressKeys’ and the ‘Touch Ring’ help to increase productivity and streamline workflow. Reducing dependency on the computer keyboard, these commonlyused short-cuts and modifiers are conveniently placed at your fingertips. A heads-up-display (HUD) feature called ‘Express View’ shows current settings on-screen and fades within a few seconds so as not to disrupt the creative process. Additionally, a personalised ‘Radial Menu’ enables you to quickly access preferred functions through a hierarchical menu display. Cordless and battery free, the Wacom Grip Pen has 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity and requires just a single gram of starting pressure. Tilt recognition allows you to create and edit with the accuracy and precision of traditional brushes and pens, while multi-touch gestures enable you to

position and navigate around your work intuitively. The ambidextrous and ergonomic design of the Intuos Pro means you can work in complete comfort for long hours. Connection to your computer is via USB, but the included Wireless Accessory Kit means you don’t need to be physically attached to your computer all the time. Instead, you can work remotely any way you want, up to ten metres away. The Intuos pen tablet is available in three sizes – small for when desktop space is at a premium, medium which provides a more generous work area, and large which allow for more expansive inputs.

Wacom Cintiq Interactive Pen Displays You can step up from one of Wacom’s pen tablets to an interactive pen display. This extends (or replaces) your current workspace and allows you to work directly on a high definition display, enabling you to immerse yourself completely in your creative processes.

There are currently five Cintiq models with 13-, 22- or 24-inch Active Matrix TFT LCD displays. The two models with larger screens are also available in Touch versions which add multi-touch control capabilities so you can pan, zoom, rotate and navigate with a tap of your finger.

Cintiq 13HD All the power and control of a Cintiq series interactive pen display is provided in a compact and slimline model which is ideal for situations where desk space is limited. The Cintiq 13HD has a 13.3-inch (33.8 centimetres) LED-backlit high-definition panel with the Full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, a viewing angle of up to 178 degrees and capable of rendering 16.7 million colours. The faceplate is made from tempered etched glass with an anti-glare coating. Despite its compact size and light weight, the 13HD provides all the usual Wacom control conveniences, including the four time-saving and customisable ‘ExpressKeys’, the ‘Rocker Ring’ and the ‘Home Button’ for easy access to shortcuts. And operational efficiency is the same whether you’re right-handed or left-handed. The Cintiq 13HD comes with a detachable stand that can be adjusted to three different working angles or it can be removed so that the display can be used flat, either on the desktop or on your lap. Wacom’s powerful Pro Pen has 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity and tilt recognition (over +/-60 levels) plus it features an ergonomic design to provide more precise control and a better feel. The Pro Pen comes in a compact carrying case which includes

storage for all the extra nibs and colour rings for personalisation and identification. Set-up – to any Mac or PC – is made quick and convenient via a three-in-one connection cable which also reduces clutter on the desktop. System compatibility is Windows 8, 7 (32-bit/64-bit), Vista SP1, XP SP2; and Mac OS X Version 10.6.8 or later (using an Intel processor).

Cintiq 22HD & 22HD Touch The next step up in the Cintiq range, the 22HD has a larger 21.5-inch (54.6 centimetres) Full HD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, an extra-wide viewing angle and 16.7 million colours. Designed for equally fast and efficient operation whether you’re right-handed or left-handed, the Cintiq 22HD features ‘Touch Strips’ with Touch Strip toggle buttons to control up to four specific functions such as brush size, zooming, scrolling and on-screen canvas rotation. Additionally, there are customisable ‘ExpressKeys’ and ‘Radial Menus’ for quick access to one-touch short-cuts and functions. The Pro Pen has 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity with tilt recognition and a tip sensor that enables a low pen activation force to capture even the lightest of touches for subtle inputs. The 22HD Touch model adds the extra functionality of multi-touch controllability. Both versions are supplied with an adjustable stand which also offers manual rotation of the device.

Wacom Cintiq Companion & Companion Hybrid

Patagonian mountain images by Peter Eastway

The Cintiq Companion combines the on-screen creative experience of a Cintiq interactive pen display with the mobility of a high-performance Windows 8 creative tablet. The Cintiq Companion Hybrid performs as a traditional Cintiq display when plugged into a Mac or PC, but when used as a mobile device, works as a stand-alone Android tablet. With either model, you can work wherever you are, whenever you want. These mobile devices leverage key elements of the Cintiq 13HD and Cintiq 22HD Touch – for example, Full HD display with touch controls, and the Wacom Pro Pen with its 2048 levels of pressure and tilt sensitivity. All the time-saving features you’d expect from a Wacom Cintiq are integrated into both the Cintiq Companion and the Companion Hybrid, including new customisable on-screen controls, the ‘ExpressKeys’, ‘Rocker Ring’ and the ‘Radial Menu’. An adjustable and detachable stand is also included with both models and offers four working angles from flat to upright. The Cintiq Companion is a fully-fledged Windows 8 tablet, powered by a third-generation Intel Core processor and Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics card. Wacom is offering two versions – one with 8.0 GB memory and a 256 GB solid state drive with Windows 8; and the other with 8.0 GB memory, a 512 GB SSD and Windows 8 Pro. The Cintiq Companion Hybrid is powered by an Nvidia Tegra 4 processor to run Android Jellybean. For further refinement when back in the studio, rough images can be easily transferred to a computer or shared directly to cloud services with the easy and pre-loaded ASTRO File Manager. Two versions of the Companion Hybrid are available with either 16 GB of memory or 32 GB. Both the Companion and Companion Hybrid models feature WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth (Version 4.0 for the Companion and Version 3.0 for the Companion Hybrid), front and rear cameras (2.0 megapixels and 8.0 megapixels respectively), a stereo headphones connection, a microphone and a MicroSD memory card slot.

Cintiq 24HD & 24HD Touch The 24HD Touch is the flagship of the Cintiq range and has a large 24-inch (61cm) display with 1920x1200 pixel Full-HD resolution and a colour gamut equivalent to 97 percent of the Adobe RGB colour space (representing 1.07 billion colours). There are ten individually configurable ‘ExpressKeys’, two handy ‘Touch Rings’ and a specially designed stand which allows you to easily select the most comfortable working position, including a unique position off the desk edge so it ‘floats’ above your knees. The 24HD screen by comparison offers 16.7 million colours and 92% Adobe RGB colour gamut. Wacom’s Pro Pen provides 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity with tilt recognition and a tip sensor that enables a low pen activation force to capture even the lightest of touches for subtle inputs. Once again, the 24HD Touch model adds the extra functionality of capacitive multi-touch control which can be combined with the pen to maximise efficiency and speed.
