In honour, we dedicate this issue to the summer festival – salute the sun, pack some shades and comfy shoes, make a playlist, grab your friends, pile into a car, hit the highway blaring The Triffids' 'Wide Open Road', and stare out the window thinking about what's to come.

What’s the strangest or craziest thing you’ve ever seen happen at a festival? Orgies, tea-bagging competitions, people shooting guns in the air for fun. Way too many to list at this point, since my perception of strange and crazy has shifted tremendously as I’ve seen a lot of shit. What are your festival essentials? Being around the right people and having the right mindset is most essential in my opinion. What do you never want to see at a festival again? Police enforcement and bros. But both seem inevitable at this point. What has been your favourite festival to go to? Rainbow Gatherings, even though they’re not quite considered festivals. Because they are noncommercial, autonomous, and the closest example to a long-term utopian, self-sustainable community where peace and love can be felt most tangibly.
