SUMMER NEWSLETTER | JULY 2019 As the term started and rolled into the 2019-2020 school year, the July 2019 newsletter was created. It features an aesthetic summer theme, allowing members to reminisce on the last few months of summer before reentering school again. The newsletter starts off with an introductory letter from Piedmont Hills High School Key Club’s Vice President of Service, Nancy Duong, where she discusses the many activities our club still has to offer for members despite it being summer. In addition, the newsletter also highlights information about the Pediatric Trauma Program, with notes written by Division 12 East’s Pediatric Trauma Program Coordinator, Jennelyn Nguyen. Because the middle schoolers were about to become freshmen, the newsletter also showcases two letters from President Kathy Ton and Outreach Coordinator Nicole Chen on why and how to join Key Club as upcoming high schoolers. Various events were highlighted, and the newsletter also included our member of the month, a calendar, and a bingo at the end to incentivize members to be more active in our club, even throughout the summer.

JULY 2019 INTRODUCTION
The cover of the July 2019 newsletter features a popular event PHHS Key Club had earlier in the month, Relay for Life. It showcases volunteers from our club helping out at the event and contributing to the community. The cover is followed by the table of contents, which fits with the summer theme of the newsletter with beach balls and a modern layout. After the table of contents is a letter from vice president of service Nancy Duong, introducing members to the newsletter and the club. All newsletters include Key Club logos, both international and CNH.

The introduction is followed by an introduction and announcement of the previous month’s Member of the Month. The Member of the Month recognition program at Piedmont Hills High School’s Key Club is a big part of making sure that we recognize our members and their hard work, including featuring them in the following month’s newsletter. Each newsletter also has a calendar with the events and fundraisers of the previous month, as a recap and to show members how much we have been able to accomplish in a single month, with so many events. Here, each page continues with the bright summer theme, capturing the feeling of summer!

Each newsletter includes pages with various updates, keeping members up to date with any information on all levels of Key Club. Club goals and trivia encourage members to participate and continue to be active within the club!

JULY 2019 CONCLUSION
Each newsletter during the term was concluded in the same way, with a closing letter from the editor who edited the month’s newsletter, followed by contact information of the executive officers and social media contact information at the club, division, district, and international level. The final page of the newsletter continues with and wraps up the newsletter with the Key Club logo, featuring the summer theme one last time.

FALL NEWSLETTER | OCTOBER 2019 For the fall season, the October 2019 newsletter included many event recaps and mentions of upcoming events to keep members updated. Its aesthetic pale colors reminds one of a soft and light Autumn day. This newsletter was especially special, because it included a recap of one our biggest events of the year, Fall Rally North. During this past fall season, Piedmont Hills Key Club was able to attend many events and participate in a variety of different activities, of which many were highlighted and featured in the fall newsletter. Our club has two editors, allowing for a variety of style and differing emphasises. Despite this, we also strive to make sure that our newsletters remain consistent throughout the term and the year with club updates, event recaps, member of the month, contacts, among much more! Because the purpose of the club newsletter is for the members to both be entertained as well as be able to see what our club has been able to accomplish within the short span of a month, both editors always strive to make sure that the focus of the newsletter is how active our club has been and how appreciative we are of our members!

WINTER NEWSLETTER | NOVEMBER 2019 To warm up the cold winter, Piedmont Hills Key Club released a winter edition of our newsletter, named the Arc Reactor after our club mascot, Iron Man. The November newsletter is decked out with an abundance of winter and Christmas-themed graphics on a sleek white background to make each element pop. During the winter months, our club had many various activities and fundraisers that we participated in, such as a clothing drive, joint movie night with our school’s UNICEF club, and even a sticker fundraiser. The newsletter highlights these events, bringing members’ attention to them. Once again, it includes mentions of our member of the month, a calendar, club goals updates, contact information, and promotion of all the branches of the Key Club family. The winter edition of the Arc Reactor made a lot of use of the many pictures our club historians took at all the service events we were able to attend, allowing members to visually experience the event. The photographs also served to add visual impact to the newsletter and are also proof of how much we were able to accomplish together during the season of giving!

NOVEMBER 2019 INTRO For the month of November, we released a Christmas-and-winterthemed issue of our newsletter to get our members into the holiday spirit! The introduction pages, especially, all have snowflakes and utilize a Christmas-themed font while still following the graphic standards. This issue features an introductory letter from President Kathy Ton about our club’s numerous events and fundraisers!

The member of the month for November was Allyson Jimenez, a member who encompasses all the four core values of Key Club and is a great role model for other members! We recognize her in the newsletter to encourage other members to also work hard, using recognition as one source of motivation.
The November calendar is a recap of the month of November. Many of the dates had some kind of event or fundraiser occurring, showing how active we were as a club!
