The Cardboard Chair ADC 109 - Studio I Fall 2014
Instructor Paula Behrens. Objective: to design a cardboard chair with 4 given cardboard panel using no glue or tape but special joint. At the final stage of the design, the chair has to withstand the weight of a person without falling apart. Scheme 1
Scheme 2
During the 1st phase I came up with 3 alternate designs which are drew in different geometry and aspect. Scheme 3

Central base
Skeleton
At the second phase I begun crafting a solid 6 inch model by using a central base and a back skeleton.
By the third phase, I further developed the overall shape with more sketches of many triangular geometry which overall generated a ninja-like theme design. Additionally, the chair is supported by the core skeleton and base that uses special joint, and once put together will withstand a person’s weight with no issue.

Project Description
Tucker house is a house design by Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown. The shape of the house is small but big in scale. Parts of the house are large, and the complete form of it is simple and symmetrical. At first glance, the house might be ordinary, but over the second glance it appear to be extraordinary. The building basically bring the sense or a building as an object among the trees in the semi-rural site with it form of tall and wooden. In reality, the house appear to showed a gabled roof with steep pyramid, a pyramid roof that transform it shape down to a gallery like library then into the living room. The main facade windows, all measured in different sizes are dictate by a big bull’s eye that breaches through the interior space connecting to the light of the roof volume shinning down from the library. Objective: to demonstrate a two point perspective view in drawing , model building, and 3D model.
Invermay House Ballarat VIC, Australia Moloney Architects 2015 ACD 160 - Presentation and Techniques Instructor : Miles Grosbard Project Description
In a small town just outside of Ballarat located the Invermay House. It is a home for a family of six, over the regional city the site bring viewers a great view, but the existing vegetation hid the view from the ground floor level of the house site. In this project I used Adobe Auto cad trace over the floor plan provided from the website, from there I created a 3d model and imported into sketch-up. In sketchup I then applied the materials from concrete to wood and stone, after applying all the materials and had all the cameras set up, I use a render engine to render the scene to give it a realistic look. Objective: to create a floor plan similar to the existing building and be able to make a 3D model which shows an elevation or different views.

Martial Art School
Concept sketches
ADC 159 - Studio II Fall 2015 Instructor: David Bertram Project description : the design focuses on a one room traditional school that developed the teaching of martial art. The martial art school included a teaching space, two lockers and shower rooms for the students of both genders. In the building there are one main entrances and two exit. Additionally, to turn the school into a friendly space, I also incorporate a gym and club room for the student to entertained and socialize with their classmate.
During the further development I converted the square and rectangular base into a more curvy and circular shaped plan. The overall building uses sloped roof and clear stories windows to prevent over heating in the summer and warmed interior during the winter.

Space Exploration
During the first phase student are required to use - 7 – 8” long square rods ,15 pieces sized 2.5” x 2.5” and 12 pieces sized 4” x 1” , without exceeding the rectangular prism, I started using verticality and horizontality to focus on the model development.
ADC 209 - Studio III Spring 2016 Instructor: Paula Behrens Project description: to design a model in a rectangular prism, 5” x 5” x 8” high, imagine it as a space sitting on a 10” x 10” base of fomcor. Without building the container, students have to consider the geometry of this form, and the space contained within. Using the set of parts required to explore ways that both reveal the exterior to create a sense of spatial flow within that form.

CCP Dormitory
ADC 209 - Studio III Spring 2016 Instructor: Paula Behrens Objective: To design a dormitory space for students who first experience living away from their family for an extended period of time, the space can be a transformative and growthful experience as well as presenting challenges and overcome obstacles.
By approaching the sense of transformation I came up with 3 geometric shaped schemes
During the design approaches I create a site analysis study of the sun orientation, wind direction, nearby vegetation, and businesses around site.
Plan of Scheme 2
On the further development, I sketches two schemes with a floor plan of the first and second floor which highlighted the program requirement, also getting to work with the circulation and design ideas
Plan of Scheme 1
The overall floor plan uses the ideas of scheme 1 instead of scheme 2 because it qualified the program requirement. Additionally, a solid scheme of the suite of the second floor of the dormitory was developed which follow the geometric shaped of scheme 1.

SOLAR NOON TRACKER ADC 259 - DESIGN STUDIO IV Fall 2016 Instructor: Elizabeth Master 1. Concept sketches
3. Further approach After some study and testing, the further developed model included a center opening with two triangular shades side by side and a long opening at the center to mark the solar noon
2. Concept models T he concept models design with different height, shade, and cover to test the sun angle and position at solar noon.
4. Final Model
After figuring out the right angle and the position of the sun at solar noon, a pin tracker and tracking pad are added into the final model to track the shadow length between different months.
5. Final Model Section study & Example of shadow length.

ADC 259 - DESIGN STUDIO IV Semester: Fall 2016 Instructor: Elizabeth Master Objective: To design a chapel and an outdoor contemplative garden/meditation/gathering space to be used by people from all walks of life and from all faiths. Within the structure they can worship, meditation, and a variety of structured activities such as religious services, weddings, funerals, memorial services and rites of passage. In addition, the design cannot incorporate any specific religious symbols or be limited to any religious liturgy.

I then overlay all the geometric layouts of famous architectural buildings to design a scheme that would further be use by people of all religious.
Scheme 1
To design a chapel that cannot incorporate any specific religious symbols my first approach was to studied the layouts of famous religious architectural buildings.

On the further approaches, I incorporate a more developed geometry into the floor plan which improves circulations and enlightening spaces.
