Welcome to our Fall 2022 edition of Quadrants! By the time this reaches mailboxes, many people will have all traded their pool floaties for flavored lattes. Early fall in Texas brings pleasant weather, baseball playoffs and football, along with budding plans for holiday travel and family festivities. It’s a beautiful time of year, and a busy time at the District.
As our fiscal year ends, we are looking back at our accomplishments, working to achieve goals and planning for the future. Our role as a management district allows us to advocate for and implement projects and enhancements that bring value to our property owners and a better quality of life for our businesses and families, and that mission is top of mind as we prepare for next year.
Our staff and board believe in North Houston District’s potential and are committed to supporting positive change in our community. We hope you enjoy this edition of the newsletter. Please let your bilingual friends know it’s available online in Spanish.
Until next time,
NHD BOARD OF DIRECTORS

HAPPENINGS
2022NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
The North Houston District’s 6th Annual National Night Out celebration was held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Tom Wussow Park. It welcomed nearly 1,500 attendees and participants, making it the District’s largest National Night Out event to date.
Public safety is one of the North Houston District’s priorities, which is why Tracy Harrison, the District’s Vice President of Public Safety, decided to host a local gathering in 2016. Since then, the event has grown every year and now serves as the District’s flagship community celebration.
Potato sack races, the petting zoo and tug-of-war, are always crowd favorites, along with dancing, prize giveaways, face painting, and the photo booth. This year, Chase and Marshal from Paw Patrol joined us, as well as Disney characters and two Chick-fil-A cows.
National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while deepening the sense of community in our area. The evening provides an opportunity to bring police and neighbors together, with the ultimate goal of reducing crime.
Special thanks to all our first responders, community partners and sponsors who invest time, energy, and funds into making our event one of the best in Houston.

Tracy Harrison, North Houston District's Public Safety Vice President

PLEASE RE-WELCOME ROBERT FIEDERLEIN
Robert Fiederlein is well-known and well-respected in the Houston development industry, and the North Houston District is proud to announce that he came on board as our Vice President of Planning and Infrastructure effective August of 2022.
Robert has more than 20 years of experience in project management, public finance and economic development. He has a keen business sense and deep knowledge of what it takes to implement successful projects. He looks at plans from every angle – environmental, finance, legal, contract and administrative. He leverages earned relationships and achieves positive outcomes for all parties involved. He has a heart for equitable housing, he’s a huge Houston sports fan, avid Texas history buff, kayaker, and half-marathon man!
In addition to finalizing ongoing District initiatives, Robert will focus on implementing recommendations from the 2020 Livable Centers Study and 2021 Public Art & Placemaking Report. He serves as a liaison on the METRO Boost Network, which will provide customer enhancements to high-frequency bus routes and improve multimodal transportation to and from North Houston District.
Does the name sound familiar? It might - because Robert worked for the District in 2016 and 2017. We’re thrilled to have him back, and excited to share a few other staffing updates. Read more at northhouston.org/news
