Executive Director Welcome

Welcome to ReadingFilmFEST 2022, a production of the ReadingFilm office, our largest program of the year! ReadingFilmFEST is a major contributor to the cultural life of the city and the region. Our 8th season presents more than 70 films and draws filmmakers, industry guests, and panelists from around the globe to create a vibrant interactive community of film professionals, film enthusiasts, and supporters.

We are proud to work with a variety of local partners to design programming this year that reduces barriers to connecting with film, provides educational opportunities, attracts new audiences, and fosters our mission to grow the film community at large.

In addition to films, this year’s FilmFEST experience includes special events featuring an Opening Night Gala at the historic WCR Center for the Arts, and parties at Nitro Bar, Saucony Creek’s Franklin Station Pub, and Reading Film Studios. Talented local artists, including the Groovemasters, Amber Rae and the Swinging Foxes, WH Dance Academy, Barrio Alegria and the This is Reading Dancers are providing exciting entertainment. The festival wraps up with a very special closing presentation of “This is Reading – Revisited”. ReadingFilm founder and my predecessor, Dr. Santo D. Marabella, is bringing back a real treat for us all! You won’t want to miss Santo’s engaging conversation with celebrity guests, Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and Emmy-winning filmmaker Tony Gerber – creators of the incredible This is Reading multi-media presentation presented by ReadingFilm in 2017.
