Bar Foundation Tees Off to Help Legal Aid!

The Montgomery Bar Foundation held its annual Legal Aid Golf Classic on June 27, 2022 at Cedarbrook Country Club in Blue Bell, PA. Over 100 golfers participated in the event, with dozens more joining us for dinner.

In a slight change of pace, the golf outing was moved from morning to the afternoon this year. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans in store as a severe thunderstorm forced our golfers off the course for a 2-hour rain delay. Spirits remained high in the clubhouse, however, and participants got back on course to complete the rain-shortened 9-hole outing.

Immediately following golf, participants enjoyed a special fundraising dinner, where prizes were awarded for lowest scores. The foursome with the lowest gross score was comprised of Jack Elliott, Matt Elliott, Emily Geer Hippler, and Colin O’Boyle. In addition, we announced the winners of our raffle prize drawing, which included gift cards to retailers, restaurants, and AmEx gift cards. Congratulations to our Young Lawyers Section, who once again won the MBA Section Challenge by selling the most raffle tickets.

We also hosted an online Silent Auction in the weeks leading up to the event, featuring Eagles, Phillies, Union, and Sixers Tickets, as well as assorted prize baskets. Thank you to all who donated prizes and all who placed bids!

All in all, our 2022 Legal Aid Golf Classic was a tremendous success. Thanks to the generosity of our participants, sponsors, and supporters, nearly $25,000 was raised from the event, matched by the MBA, and donated to Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
