Danielle Cadet has dedicated her career to serving Black audiences and developing an expertise in the print and digita media space. Prior to joining ESSENCE, Cadet served as Editorial Director of Netflix's Strong Black Lead where she developed the company's editorial strategy for its marketing efforts targeting Black audiences leading campaigns for film like The Harder They Fall, Malcolm & Marie, and more

Prior to that, Cadet served as Vice-President, Content Strategy and Development and Managing Editor of R29Unbothered, Refinery29’s fastest-growing Instagram channel and digital community catering to Black, millennial women

Danielle played a pivotal role in developing the brand and building its editorial and branded content infrastructure Wh Go Off, Sis podcast, which was nominated for an ASME award and won Adweek's 2020 Podcast of the Year. She joined Refinery29 from ESPN where she launched The Undefeated, a digital destination that explores the intersection of race, sports, and culture. While there she oversaw daily editorial operations as Deputy Editor.

Prior to ESPN, Cadet worked at “The Huffington Post Black Voices” where she led breaking news coverage of several national stories, including the Trayvon Martin murder case in Florida and the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri She has a keen insight into the consumption habits of Black consumers and multicultural readers

Cadet holds bachelor's and master’s degrees from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and has been included on The Creative Collective's inaugural 2020 Creative Class, Ebony's list of “8 Dynamic Black Women Editors in New Media,” The Big Lead's 40 Under 40 Behind the Scenes in Sports Media, and Folio magazine's min Rising Stars
