Waste management is a very complex issue, encompassing a number of different industries. Recycling is used widely all over the world with metal, plastic and paper leading the list of the most recyclable waste materials. A lot of materials recycled are reused for its original purpose. There are some types of wastes requiring proper and special handling as well as disposal in order to prevent contamination. A very common example to this is biomedical wastes that are produced by hospitals and healthcare facilities. Special systems or standard operating procedures have to be in place in order to dispose waste of this type.
