All registrations must be submitted by the registration deadline. For specific deadlines, please check the Spring 2013 Calendar section. Registrations received after the payment deadline require payment within 24 hours. Registrations not paid by the appropriate payment deadline may be dropped at the discretion of the college.

Grade Information

A printed copy of your grade report may be obtained through WebAdvisor. The Spring 2013 Textbook information is available at the Nichols College Bookstore. You may contact the bookstore via their website, http://nichols.bkstore.com, or by phone at 508-213-2408.

Students will receive a 100% refund if a course is dropped by the last day of the add/drop period for the session for the course. Courses that are dropped after the add/drop date are course withdrawals. No refund is issued for course withdrawals, and a grade of “W” will be assigned to the course.

To Appeal the Refund Policy:

This form must be completed within 10 days from the date the course was dropped.

Failure to provide sufficient documentation for your appeal will result in your appeal being denied. b. Successful appeals to the Refund Policy result in CREDITS towards course re-takes. Regardless of an employer’s reimbursement plan, the student is responsible for ensuring full payment for the courses at the time of registration.

Inclement Weather Policy

Students may call 508-213-2452 after 3:00pm and a recorded message will state whether or not classes are being held at your location. A message will also appear on the Nichols website at gps.nichols.edu.

Parking stickers for the Dudley campus are available through the Department of Graduate and Professional Studies, Monday–Friday from 8:30am–4:30pm, Room 201 in Academy Hall.

General Information Blended Accelerated Sessions

Blended Accelerated classes include seven in-class sessions, one night per week, plus an online educational component.

Blended accelerated courses combine the value of classroom presentation and discussion with the convenience of online learning. Each blended course consists of 7 classes (3 hours and 15 minutes) on site and an online component.

Both portions of the blended course consist of assignments, readings, research, group work and/or participation in an online or in-class discussion. The blended course is designed in a participatory format and is led by experienced faculty/practitioners. As with every course, students are encouraged to relate their work experience to the course topics in order to enhance their learning experience.

Online Courses

Online courses are offered in 7- and 15-week formats. Courses that run for 15 weeks (Session III) have one start date, which is usually the first day of the semester. Sevenweek online courses begin on the first day of the session in which they are offered (Session I or II).

All online courses have regular deadlines for submitting work, just as in a traditional or hybrid course. In addition, all undergraduate online courses require a minimum of 2 proctored exams and all graduate online courses include at least 1 proctored exam.* * NOTE: Capstone courses require students to work in virtual teams and do not require proctored exams.

Registration Online Using WebAdvisor

1. When you are ready to register, click on the “myNichols” link on the top of the GPS home page: http://GPS.nichols.edu

2. Once you are logged in to myNichols, you will see the link to the “WebAdvisor” menu. From there, click on the “Registration” tab to register for classes. 3. Select “WebAdvisor.”

4. Choose “Registration.”

5. Choose “Register for Sections.”

6. Choose “Search and Register for Sections.”

7. First, choose the semester from the drop down menu. Next, choose the subject from the drop down menu, Then enter the course number. Click the “Submit” button, and every section of this course for the semester (day and evening) will be listed. Make sure you check the “Location”and “Meeting Information” before you select your course. Once you choose the section you want, click the box next to it. Then click the “Submit” button. 8.

Finish registering by selecting “RG-Register” in the “Action” section next to your course. Finally, click on the “Submit” button. Note: If a class is closed or you don’t have the necessary prerequisite(s)(s), you will be told this at the top of the screen.

9. The final step is to pay for the courses that you have selected. Click on the “Financial Information” tab. Select the “Make a Payment” option. After entering the required information, make sure you click the “Submit” button. 10. Confirm that the registration was processed correctly: a.

Providence (40 miles)

From the North:

Take I-290 to Auburn, where I-290 becomes I-395 South. Follow to Exit 4B (Sutton Road/Oxford Center). Turn right off ramp and stay in the right lane. Go straight through the light at Oxford Center (Cumberland Farms on right). Follow straight past light for 0.8 miles and take a left onto Dudley Road (produce stand is on the right). Follow this road for 3.7 miles, staying straight through a four-way stop sign. Dudley Road becomes Dudley/Oxford Road at the town line. Bearing right at the fork (pond on your right), continue on Dudley/Oxford Road for 2 miles through two stop signs, then straight onto the Nichols campus.

From the East and West:

Take the Mass Pike to Exit 10 in Auburn and get on I-395 South. Follow directions from above.

Spring 2013

Take I-95 North to I-395 North to Exit 2, (Webster) and turn left off the ramp. Go straight through the first set of traffic lights. Follow Rt. 12 South (Rt. 12 will turn left through Webster center). Continue through Webster center. After the railroad tracks, continue straight into Dudley. Stay in the right lane at the second set of lights after the tracks. Go straight through the lights onto Rt. 197 which is also West Main Street in Dudley. Stay on West Main Street (Rt. 197) until you reach a set of lights next to Cumberland Farms/gas station (on your right). Turn right directly after Cumberland Farms onto Airport Rd. Follow Airport Road and bear right at the four-way stop. (Dudley Hill Golf Club is on your right.) Take the first left onto Center Road and proceed directly on to the Nichols campus.

From Hartford, CT:

Take I-84 East towards Boston. Take Exit 2 (Sturbridge/ Southbridge). When on exit ramp, keep right at the fork. Turn left onto Haynes Street. Turn right onto MA-131/Main Street. Proceed to rotary in Southbridge and take the first right onto MA-169/MA131. You will pass through Dudley, Massachusetts, then enter Thompson, Connecticut for a short while. Bear left onto Rt. 197 at the set of lights in Thompson. You will re-enter Dudley, Massachusetts on Rt. 197. Turn left onto Center Road. Follow Center Road up the hill to the Nichols campus.
