EDUCATION

B.A. ARCHITECTURE, CLEMSON UNIVERSITY – CLEMSON, SC 2014 - 2018 I currently attend Clemson as an Architecture major. I am very committed to spending time in the studio working diligently on my projects and assignments. I currently play on the Rugby team and strive to better my life and body through the sport and camaraderie of a team. B.S. PRE-ENGINEERING, LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY – ST. CHARLES, MO 2013-2014 (Transferred) I attended Lindenwood and majored in Pre-Engineering. I had a GPA of 3.25 and was on the Academic Honor Roll for Athletics. I was a scholarship member of the Rugby team.

EXPERIENCE

INTERN, JOHN TARKANY ASSOCIATES, INC. – CHARLESTON, SC Fall 2017 While enrolled in Clemson University’s Profession Internship and Co-op program, I interned at John Tarkany Associates. I was responsible for the drafting of construction documents, creating visual elements for clients and architects, and developing digital models for conceptual bids. This work mainly focused on land planning and Landscape Architecture in the greater Charleston, SC area. PROJECT MANAGER, CLEMSON RUGBY FACILITIES INITIATIVE – CLEMSON, SC 2016 – Present In order to further develop the following and play of rugby in the Upstate, I joined the alumni of the Clemson Rugby Foundation’s efforts to build new facilities. In 2016, I worked directly with developers, contractors, and donors to not only fund, but build a high performance field for rugby in Clemson. Currently, I am working with alumni and sponsors to design and build an athletics complex adjacent to our current pitch, which will include new fields, a training center, public park area, and a 5,000 – 8,000 seat stadium. STAFF ENGINEER INTERN, CORNERSTONE ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP LLC – BOLINGBROOK, IL 2010 – 2014

2

During my summers and breaks through high school and into college I worked as a staff engineer intern at Cornerstone. I was responsible for multiple projects that contained AutoCAD work of various degrees, clerical work, and data management. This also included civil site plans, 2D and 3D piping layouts, and establishing a 3D piping library for the use of other engineers.

SKILLS

AUTODESK I have significant experience using AutoCAD in both 2D and 3D applications, having interned as a staff engineer and at a landscape architecture firm. I used this everyday at work and in the classroom. I also have experience using Revit and Inventor in an academic setting. ADOBE CREATIVE SUITE I use Adobe products every day such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. I have used these products both in an academic and professional setting. I use these to create portfolios, layouts, style sheets, renderings, and conceptual diagrams. MODELING This experience comes largely from taking seven semesters of studio class. My models have ranged from simple foam massing to structural section models of stadium seating. I also have a lot of experience in digital modeling with programs such as Rhino. MICROSOFT OFFICE I have numerous experiences in Office programs, both academic and professional, and could assist with any office in tasks relating, but not limited to, reports, data inventory, and presentations.

METACITY Restaurant Professor George Schafer Fall 2016 Partners: Studio Research Project

This studio started off as an urban design, research based conclusion of what the City of Detroit has become. As a decaying city, we studied what brought Detroit to its knees, and where it is headed. We then chose sites as a studio that we believed would be appropriate infill sites for a pop-up restaurant. The purpose of this space would be to bring in local, small businesses looking for start up capital, and to expose different neighborhoods to new cuisine. I chose to design adjacent to Campus Martius, which is one of the busiest civic areas of Detroit.

density

To determine our sites, we looked into the urban context of Detroit. We noticed large racial divides caused by the construction of interstates, the large amount of greenspace currently being created, and the re-densification of Downtown. Due to this, we chose sites that were in diverse, dense, and developing neighborhoods in the city.

LA 2024: Masterplan

Professor Henrique Houayek Spring 2017

This studio focused on creating multiple mock bids for the L.A. 2024 proposal. The studio presented itself with a plethora of challenges, from master planning to stadia design, and had an intense atmosphere. I studied multiple past Olympic venues and the City of Los Angeles, and came to favor Frei Otto’s approach in Munich and how the park was used during and after the games. After all, a major factor in a successful Olympics is not only the three weeks of competition, but the use of the site and its potential benefits to the community. While simultaneously focusing on the development and dismantlement of the Games, I was able to better understand the transformation of venues and other spaces into everyday, accessible upgrades to the community.

Original Site: Stub Hub Center The site proposed is the development in Carson, CA known as the StubHub Center, home to the MLS club L.A. Galaxy. The area surrounding the site is a heavily residential, suburban sprawl outside of L.A. Most of the site is used for parking, and the rest of it is a culmination of soccer fields and tennis courts. To the east, California State University, Dominguez Hills resides. They are largely a commuter school, but Ware looking to expand. One of the issues we found in L.A. is its severe lack of public greenspace, as well as any form of entertainment or commercial district outside of busy streets of Hollywood. Also adding in the potential collegiate atmosphere, it was my goal to create a young, vibrant, and community driven area outside of the everyday congestion that is L.A. LA 2024: Field Hockey Professor Henrique Houayek Spring 2017

I chose to design the two Field Hockey venues based off of what I envisioned for my canopy structure. As a result of the canopy being permanent, I wanted to create a venue that could be easily transformed into public and commercial space post-Olympics. The result, is my idea of a Field Hockey Olympic Complex that houses both competition spaces, as well as facilities for atheletes and Olympic executives.

THE EOS

Professor Raymond Huff Fall 2017 Partners: Rachel Smoak, Shane Lenard Our goal was to create a space that is a landmark in the West Ashley community, not only in its civic nature, but in its physical presence as well. This theatre would serve as a beacon to those traveling to West Ashley and give the site new life. The structure will be an illuminated object, welcoming patrons. The long porch serves as a lookout to the outdoor spaces and gardens. Inside, the folds and creases of the theatre space isolate the performance from the bustle of the busy intersection. At the top, the folded form emerges from its glass display case; giving the site the iconic presence it deserves. We first began looking at how community greenspace, and the urbanization of suburban typology could be implemented on the site.

Note: I focused mostly on conceptual urban development, models, site design.

Hello, In my undergraduate career, I have studied how we as designers can create both something that is beautiful, while still being practical. What drives my interest in design is an individual’s relationship with the built environment. This is key to any intimate or public space, or any urban fabric. We must create spaces that better the human condition in the context we design in. I often think of current issues, such as affordable housing and sustainability, and how designs can elegantly and efficiently solve the problems at hand. How can we create something that is both beautiful, low-cost, and gives the residents a sense of pride in their home, while also taking into consideration the ecological impact of a community? It is my goal to better communities one project at a time; to be able to connect my designs and solutions to someone on a personal level.I think this approach, from analysis to design, helps me create a fully-rounded conceptual solution. From large scale urban design, to residential, to civic spaces, I want my work to positively contribute to life. When, and if, I get free time away from the studio and the classroom, I enjoy being active. I am a member of the Clemson University Men’s Rugby team, where I am very involved. I also enjoy exploring new places and getting out of my comfort zone. Life is short, so I want to experience as much of it in different shoes as I can, and have an amazing time doing it.

Cheers,
