Step 1: Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub and install it

Close QuickBooks The QuickBooks Tools Hub latest version 1.5.0.0 is available for download. The file should be saved somewhere that you can find easily (such as your Downloads folder, or your Windows desktop). You can see which version of Tool Hub you have if you haven't installed it before. Select the Home tab. You will see the version at the bottom. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe). Follow the instructions on the screen to install the terms and conditions. Double-click the icon from your Windows desktop after the installation is complete to open the tool hub.
Step 2: Run Quick Fix my File ● Select Company File Matters from the tool hub. ● Select Quick Fix my File.
● When it finishes, select OK and launch QuickBooks. You can still open your company file if you get an error message.
Step 3: Run QuickBooks File Doctor ● Select Company File issues from the tool hub. ● Select Run quickbooks file doctor. The file doctor may take up to one second to open. Notification: The QuickBooks File Doctor may not open. Search for QuickBooks Desktop File Doc to open it manually. ● Select your company file in QuickBooks File Doctor. To locate your file, click Browse to search. ● Select Review your file (middle choice only) and then Proceed. ● Enter your password for QuickBooks admin and select Next. Your file size will determine the scan time. It can take between 3 and 5 minutes in most cases. After the scan is complete, you can open QuickBooks and your company file. Even if the scan is successful, it may still indicate that it failed.
Step 4: Next, follow the steps to resolve the issue. There are two options if you want to open a company file using QuickBooks Desktop 2011 or earlier. ● Open the file using a newer version QuickBooks. This will open your company file within QuickBooks 2011 or later. ● Repair the file from your current version: This will fix the company file for the version of QuickBooks.
Step 5: Update and backup QuickBooks Back it up after you have fixed your company file. Create a backup of the company file. Verify for software updates. Select Help in QuickBooks Desktop and then Install QuickBooks Desktop. To avoid errors, run regular updates and verify and build data .
