Key Responsibility: Design concept and design development, also alliases with client project manager, consultants and contractors.

The project is located at the beginning of the eastern section of Huaihai Middle Road, Bainian Commercial Street, Huangpu District, where the three major business districts of People’s Square, Xintiandi and Xizang Road meet, and adjacent to the city’s iconic public spaces such as Yanzhong Square, Shanghai Concert Hall, and Huaihai Park. The original situation lacks an overall external image, the internal tenant business is messy. Compared with the business model of Huaihai Road as a whole department store at the time, there is a clear gap of realization. Through design and renovation, Shanghai Plaza fully follows the historical style, and is upgraded to become a diversified and innovative destination in the city. Let the indoor space naturally extend into the landscape of interactive platform for urban public functions, and combine office and retail exhibitions to create a cohesive micro-city.

功能分配方式 | Program Stacking Methods

1. 典型叠高方式: 此方式为常规布局方式,塔楼办公大堂设于一层,透过核心筒 达到各办公楼层。一层办公大堂有绝对第一门面办公形象,却 也因将双层挑高办公大堂设于一、二层而减少了该些楼层可租 售商业面积。 此种分布方式,塔楼使用者的感受相对独立不直接受裙楼影响。

2. 分离叠高方式:

有别于典型叠高方式,办公大堂多设于裙楼屋面形成一小型空 中大堂。可于一层设立独自电梯厅引领人流置空中大堂进入办 公大楼,也可同时利用办公人流与现有裙楼竖向动线达至办公 空中大堂。此种布局将传统布局方式对一、二层可销售商业面 积之影响降至最低。此种布局另一特色是当与周遭地块人流动 线有所互动时,可透过其竖向功能划分优势进行对应人流管理 提升整体连接性。主要缺点则为办公人流将有可能因裙楼商业 招商的成功与否而有所影响。成功案例有如:香港又一城、日 本东京渋谷HIKARIE.

东京渋谷HIKARIE值得特别一提其裙楼动线与都市连廊合并设 计,如此都市人流动线将不受商业营业时间限制,让建筑在非 营业时间时仍旧可以服务社会大众。

项目目前采用典型叠高方式,并预留未来转型成分离叠 高方式潜在可行性。裙楼动线也以站城一体化为设计基 础设计布局。

The site is located at Tianxin Metro Station in Shenzhen, surrounded by mostly village houses and factories. The area has a poor appearance and a weak business atmosphere. On the northeast side, there is the Tiantou River water system, the Daling Valley and Bugou Rock can be seen in the north, and Tiantou Mountain Nature Reserve is in the south. This is the entrance of Tianxin Station of Metro Line 16. It will be connected with multiple subway lines in the future. Portable transportation will inject new vitality into the area.

Key Responsibility: Design concept diagrams and renderings, coordination with MEP and structure consultants.

The site is located in the northeast of Wuhan, facing the Yangtze River. It used to be a flood discharge area. However, with the advancement of modern water conservancy technology, the large plains that have been integrated have been rejuvenated. The accelerated development of today’s information technology, artificial intelligence, big data and other technologies has reached a huge turning point for humans. Both human life and the modern city itself urgently need to be separated and transformed from the traditional concepts of the 20th century. In the spirit of this era, the case aims to develop a new concept template for the creation of new cities, and to make urban buildings as a catalyst for integrated development, as a catalyst for the development of the entire region.

Project Info:

The local block is the smallest of the four spatial scales of 272km2, 60km2, 24km2, and 2km2, to become the experimental center of Xiong’an New District (the core part of the layered design) Established a bridge between the data processing and the promotion of the surrounding as the target. The key area required by the mission book should not be less than 2km2. In this scheme, the experimental island of 3km2 is selected as the ideal template for the future experimental city based on the following three aspects.

1_According to the upper-level planning, choose CBD financial and high-end industrial sectors as the core construction area;

2_According to the upper planning road network, select a relatively moderately located area, and the land formed by the road network forms an experimental island form;

3_The experimental island is arranged in the core area of the cross-shaped green corridor structure, which fully corresponds to the importance of the environmental landscape.

Through initial readings and researches, the concept of “smart city” urbanism addresses the aspects of flexible and responses to the various emergencies conditions. It is predicted that by 2050, New York City population will reach 10 million and such big volume of people insert high pressure on the urban fabrics.New York is certainly one of the center of migrating urban area.

Parallel to the observation was the outbreak event of Syrian war and millions of refugees fled from their home countries, seeking for help. However, despite the life-concern emergency situation, it is almost impossible for them to arrive in the States, because of the extraordinarily long line for identity procedure, starting with applications, many rounds of identity checks, interviews and mostly waiting time. Identifying the problem of existing bureaucratic systems will undertake various emergency conditions with large amount of population waiting for the procedure, the border line is under challenges due to the high pressure.

Al-Zaatari Camp and Azraq Camp

Zaatari and Azraq are the two most recent refugee camps built for Syria refugees. The precise design of Azraq is in direct response to the haphazard settlement pattern of Zaatari. This well-known, but not well understood dichotomy between planned and unplanned camps makes for an interesting comparison study.

Our studies expands to densely populated cities’ typologies :

-Kowloon Walled City - Densely populated community, extends the envelope to the maximum adopting time-based program shifting methods

-Manhattan Chinatown - Urban enclaves in New York where undertaking long transformation

-Al-zaatari camp in Jordan - Fast populated into a chaotic system and self sufficient system has been generated from the chaos.

-NY metro: Existing New York transportation infrastructure as an organ of the city absorbs large population influx.

The power of KWC lay in its ability to subvert reality over time to its advantage: from customs house to spy center, from garrison to tourists destination, from administration center to gambling house, from refugee camp to vice den, from residential units to industrial complex, from gangland to community center.

The highest ratio between day and night population (1.92) suggests that there are nearly double as many people in Manhattan during the day than at night during a typical work day.

Chinatown is packed with buildings with unexpected practicality of adjacency and connection, boldly ignoring and jumping beyoing the history and social mode of the city. The knowledge, invention and imagination summond in fully utilising these space to the extent of stubborn honesty, makes possible new urban relations.

The site is located in Manhattan Chinatown, which offers conditions for the project to test its connection with urban context and further inform the design decisions. Chinatown as an existing urban enclave in Manhattan have many Chinese immigrants arrived here and it provides them with cultural orientation in terms of job searching, apartment searching, etc. Overlapping with the idea of trajectory of immigrants journey, we are proposing an immigration center as an extended border line from the airport, where process immigrants identities at the same time have them living there.

By thinking of changing the spatial organization of the beuraeucracy offices, it creates a network of process instead of the super linear conventions and the network of circulative procedure largely accelerates the identity process.

PROGRAM:

内部空间主要为体验区,内外混合空间

为服务区以及购物商品区。 利用装置艺术创

造体验空间吸引客流深入,凹陷的内外部分混 合空间则在为路过人流服务的同时吸引客流进 入内部空间进行体验每个空间的独特性。同时 吧台连接室内外,为客人提供了较为随意的放 松空间。

BASE: 原始结构为较为规整的梁柱结构,整体 狭长,采光少,流线易为简单,吸引客人深 入。

VAULT-HEIGHT:

除去利用功能以及商品吸引客流,其空 间以符合其lobby的概念。沿街墙用铝板等金 属材质突出其未来感。内外交流空间像是一个 terminal连接室外及室内。同时较为低矮灰暗 的水平屋顶创造出了与室内弧形及荧光明亮的 穹顶的强烈对比。表达了人们在未来虽然万 物可以高效生产,但仍然对“不高效且浪费的 艺术”的向往。相比于传统科幻主义的古板高 效,此种想法更加有肉感,生活化,体验化, 同时与其他未来主义题材的设计截然不同。
