Throughout this course on design as a art graphic design major I struggled many times but improvement was the most satisfying thing to do as this class persisted a lot of work. The time in the class covered many different varieties and introduction to creating many succefeul pieces through the different designing processes learned. There is also a great contructive element and many principles learned through a thoughtful perspctive in our designs to improve. Introduction to design for me and others pushed our sense of design and creating art that pushes the understanding of many intricate design concepts
The purpose of this book is to to track my progress through the course progression and how I managed the different project specifications. Throughout this book I will show my progress phases and pictures of final pieces and a deep reflective writing on each project completed.
When trying to descibe gestalt is the main object being recognized as well as the patterns and proximity of the shapes and it is the first thing seen in the art how you interpret everything shown and the continuation that we can all use these elements when describing pieces of art. This was something that contributed to are visual interpretations of a word that seeks the attention of the lines and circles defining words. This relates to the project when a certain combination of figures was made on our pictures as we worked to pay attention to detail closely to interpret words based on the setup and visual attention of the lines and circles. After creating it was very difficult for me to make a well-crafted object as it is very time-consuming and intricate if I was to make this quickly or very time-consuming It would be worth the outcome and long process for perfection.
Abstraction art never really caught my eye but the project helped with the idea that abstract art can be as simplistic as lines and circles while still interpreting things. When finding the ideas it wasn’t that difficult since we have seen so many images that portray a word throughout history or currently, that gave a really good sense of how it could be interpreted with simplicity.
When engaging with a person it gave me a more realistic point of view of the prototype and opened me to more ways to improve it further or get rid of it. It was expected while also giving an easier way of describing and placing an image of what it aims to be. The unfinished work we showed was needed but difficult since some of the work was unfinished but it eventually was relieving knowing what was good and not good.
The pace of the work process felt very quick and fast while I usually would work way less rushed it was a good pace to keep focussed and memorize. Something I would’ve done differently is to spend more time making fast drawings or designing at a fast pace and something I could improve on my process would be designing efficiently.

Overview:
For my partner I created this idea where he would be able to open any of the three envelopes that contain knowlege and experience from proffesors through his career path.
Some things I learned about making letterforms is they are far more difficult and timely when creating but it gives a new idea to the image capabilities. The representation of the words was very intricate and the process work and ideas helped me get a better understanding of the possibilities of creating something to add that influences the word or describes a theme. It was very satisfying finding the right images or print, the end result was a long journey and worked for representing the word. Things I would mostly work on intentional errors and other ways to incorporate images and ideas more creatively and proportioned. Also, I would try brainstorming more ways I could influence images to the world and make it neatly as possible with no visual errors or unneeded space.
I learned many things about the black widow such as females killing their mating partners and having very distinctive red patterns on their backs from males who are smaller compared to females. Also, the brown or gray coloring of the spider is male and most bites aren’t fatal but it is the most venomous spider in North America. The most challenges I faced were with the collage iteration because it was very difficult to find things that matched the coloring I wanted for the spider and make the characteristics of a black widow strong at first sight. The most enjoyable was the artist iteration because of the fun with spray painting and it is the least stressful making after a layout.
Soemthing that will be most important to me are the things you can use to make images and edit them to a specific format for work use as well as mock-ups for shirts and clothing it will make it much easier and more professional in the future designing ideas and logos. I would try to add more actions of the spider and new ways of showing the spider throughout the most represented outlook of the black widow and the venomous aspect.
Something that really caught my eye was the designing he did for old bands and concerts really brought a unique style that really wasn’t seen that often. Also, his ideas for collage were really intricate in his way of expressing a certain message or style that catches everyone’s eye. It’s always a good thing to get other outlooks on the different aspects and life experiences of other artists and see what other similar opinions people have. The artists that stood out the most to me that I would research further was Nancy Skolos and Tom Wedell. The art they both produce is a very intriguing illusion type of art that is very stood out to the individual looking at it and gave a bunch of possibilities on what might be happening in the artwork.
This was very challenging and eager to have some of your own writing ideas implicitly shown to represent. Another visual difficulty was with the demonstration of an appealing PSA poster as for me the need for some negative space or big representation was lacking. Having no text was the most challenging part of designing the poster because it would have brought a better and increased view of remembrance and visual hierarchy to real-life representations of the problems in the PSA. Some skill that I can use in the future is how appealing and eye-catching a PSA has to be. This relates to any message in the future for art is creating a highlight in an appealing profession as well as the implication of facts.

One inspiration for chantry when growing up was innovative graphic design through Polish article posters.
Chantry’s perspective of design was mainly related to the punk period in Seattle where he found himself making mostly posters particularly local rock bands in his area. Growing up for him wasn’t the best growing up poor in a single-parent home he attended college in Bellingham, Washington. After completing a degree in painting after graduation he leaned toward graphic design work but he gained his uniqueness from his visuals outside the mainstream international style.
Unlike many others, Chantry choose to remain an outsider often rejecting any work for commercial corporate clients for commissions as he believed they were going to not give him the amount of attention he needed and border his potential.
With Chantry unlike many he has the luxury of working with only projects that interested him as he became the art director of an alternative Seattle paper and then into a one-man art design company. At the time Chantry showed his passion for design at a time when digital designing wasn’t prominent but still succeeded in influencing his work to many other new artists.
What’s something you’ve made in the last two years that you’re proud of?
Something I’ve grown in the past to love and feel I’m proud of making with a little production help was this shirt I’ve made that got picked by many others I was able to sell and reach many people in my city for the first drop ever.
If I were guaranteed This would support me financially, what would you want to design or make for a living?
I would like to design clothing and accessories in a brand called Soulmates where production and selling locations will be maintained worldwide and in a store eventually. This has always been a dream of mine to pursue and grow the brand as I keep working to produce more.
This book was made to remember the best of the accomplishments throughout the course and how it affected your understanding of design even more.
Throughout these projects there is many showcases of improving elements of visual design through our various creations.
