“
Of the 100,000 Show visitors each year, close to 30% come from outside Christchurch.
We exhibited for the first time in 2012 and so thoroughly enjoyed our experience that we will be back next year. The Show team were a pleasure to deal with; nothing was a problem which made exhibiting so easy. Rural TV was not there to directly sell to the public; instead it was to demonstrate our unique offering which lead to great networking. We were strategically placed by the Eukanuba Dog Trials which was excellent for us as we had the real ‘rural’ folk around us which is our target market.
Demographically, the highest percentage of Show visitors fall into the lucrative ‘middle aged’ category with close to 40% aged 35–54 years. Over 70% of Show visitors attend as a family group. Last year’s attendance figures were 17,500 on Wednesday, 30,500 on Thursday and 69,000 on Friday.
Sarah Perriam, CEO, Rural TV.
Over 60% of visitors spend 5+ hours at the Show with 56% of visitors indicating that they attended the previous year’s Show.

Choosing a Site
Canterbury Agricultural Park, the home of the Canterbury A&P Show, is located in the south-west of Christchurch, alongside the recently upgraded Southern Motorway. The Park is a 42 hectare, purpose built Show facility situated 10 kilometres from Christchurch International Airport. Due to the increasing popularity of the Show and plans for expansion, the Canterbury A&P Show moved to the new Showgrounds in 1997.
Site options include themed feature pavilions and outdoor locations for the effective promotion of your products/services. New and continually improving feature pavilions are testament to industry and public demand. A detailed description of the various site options are included in the following pages.
During Showtime the public can access the Showgrounds by a special, direct bus service. There is also ample free parking available for Show visitors including a free car park shuttle service to the turnstiles.
