Motivation letter Dear sir /Madam,
When I finished high school, I was so determined to choose Architecture as my major, though my parents strongly tried to persuade me to choose a major more scientific, such as Information Technology and Electronics among them, though. I looked at, and still do, Architecture as a more creative and challenging field, in close relationship with many aspects of life. To me, Architecture was a combination of creativity, information and the art of presentation and expression of new ideas, new manifestos and new buildings. During, my undergraduate studies we took subjects such as “Theories of Architecture, History of art and Architecture, Architectural design” which attracted me the most. I was blown away by the different schools and styles. I learned about the pioneers and I was fascinated by their work, I was greatly influenced by many of them, for example architects like giò Ponti, Carlo Scarpa, Achille Castiglioni, Ignazio Gardella, Adolf Loos, Le Corbusier, Pierre Jennerat. Luis Mies van der rohe, Alvar Aalto, Siza Vieira are my role models. They have dedicated their life to Architecture trying to create new thinking and visions that are being used nowadays while incorporating technology and philosophy. On each design project I had, I faced a new challenge every time to create a building using my knowledge, skills and applying the theories I have acquired all this through a concept inspired by my own philosophy. It’s the adventurous side of me and my free spirit that was my guide through each project. I also had the chances to go on Erasmus program in Germany for Two years in which I really had a good experience and I learned how to communicate with different nationalities working in team of architects. I have a passion for travelling and understanding different cultures of the world, all these elements have given me a very broad outlook, with varying degrees of knowledge in a wide range of topics that solely pertain to architecture. If asked to describe me people would say that I’m pleasant, active and intelligent. Always dreaming about architecture day in and day out; one of my most distinguished characteristics is the persistence and the desire to achieve my goals.
