“I spent 10 years working in recruitment before making the switch to an operational role in FM and waste. I was so disappointed by the service offered by recruitment companies, and quickly discovered the feeling was common throughout the industry. I felt I owed it to my peers to combine my experience and create a business that truly met their recruitment needs and delivered on its promises.” Nicola Lathbury Managing Director, Hexagon FM

We are committed to delivering a quality service and build long term relationships with our clients. Our service is backed by our quality guarantee, providing you peace of mind that you’re investing in the right people to help you build your team.
Our philosophy Businesses are constantly changing and evolving, so it stands to reason that when it comes to filling a vacancy, the role itself will have moved on. What worked ‘last time’ may not be what you need now. This is an area that, whilst vital to finding the best long term recruitment solution, is often overlooked. We encourage our clients to look at the outputs that need to be delivered from each specific role and how it fits in with the business’s growth strategy. “I recently worked with Hexagon FM to fill a sales vacancy. They took the time to understand how our business works, the experience that we required and also the rewards on offer. We saw just one candidate and they were the perfect fit; far better than an inbox full of CV’s from anyone and everyone.” Gary Hawkesford, Sales Manager Deepclean Hygiene Solutions
Delivering on our promises, daring to be different We strive to do what should be the simplest of things… delivering on our promises. Simple, and yet, we know from experience, companies so rarely feel it’s achieved when it comes to recruitment. If we can find a better way we’ll do it; we don’t believe in ‘it’s always been done like this.’ We work closely with our clients to fully understand the specification for the role(s), the culture of the company and its long term strategy; enabling us to only deliver candidates who are the best fit. Naturally, we have an array of search tools at our disposal. We use our market knowledge, tap into our comprehensive database of candidates and our network, we advertise, request referrals (good people tend to know good people), and we use talent tracking to find passive candidates not yet on the open market. This thorough approach ensures that we capture the market, leaving no stone unturned in the search for the right candidates. Knowing the disruption that can be caused when a person isn’t all they seemed, we place the upmost importance on the referencing process. Where possible, we avoid taking written references as they tell you little about a person’s character. Instead we speak to referees and are able to get a much clearer and more honest picture of the candidate, minimising the risk to our clients.
A professional, efficient service We take care of as much of the process as possible, organising and confirming the interviews so that the interviewer can focus solely on the task of selecting the best fit for their organisation. Our clients and candidates can expect the following support: ●
Candidate pack – interview booking details, map, job specification, presentation brief (if required), and our Hexagon FM preparation notes.
●
Client pack – pre-interview pack, interview schedule, copies of CV’s and feedback grading forms; making it easier to grade and compare the candidates.
●
Feedback – following interviews we collect candidate feedback. We are open and honest, and share it with the client, which helps them to understand if they are selling their business and role in a way that appeals to prospective talent.
●
Second interviews – we, of course, arrange the second interviews, including managing the process around preparing the candidates for any presentations or tasks they’ve been asked to perform. We then provide interview schedules and feedback forms.
●
Offer – during the process we identify and share what the candidate is looking for. This helps to prevent ‘Dutch Auctions’ where the offer bounces back and forth to the highest bidder, frustrating for all concerned. We manage the negotiations between all parties and ensure everyone leaves happy. Our commitment to thorough preparation and understanding of the role, company and candidates helps this to run smoothly.
We don’t walk away We keep in touch to ensure that everything is working out well for all concerned. We find that new employees, prior to completing their probationary period, often don’t speak up if they’re not entirely comfortable in their new position. Good jobs are hard to find, and people don’t want to appear to ‘rock the boat’ and yet their query or concern is often very valid, and the employer will wonder why they ‘just didn’t ask’. We provide a good sounding board for this, encouraging open communication with their new employer, helping them to resolve the issue and focus on their specific job.
Got a gap to fill, but unsure what it is? “Hexagon FM go that extra mile, and that’s a rare find within recruitment. They really get to know their clients’ requirements; not just on matching skills and experience, but more importantly on the behaviours and leadership capabilities of the candidates put forward. Candidates are always prequalified and are often headhunted rather than actively looking for their next role.” Diane Kimberley, Saica Natur
We work with clients to help them scope and cost the best solution, offering salary benchmarking to help understand costs and decide whether the it’s a short term or permanent solution that is most suitable.
