Axonometry

HIL The intention of this project consists in working with the existing structure while enhancing the space quality inside. In this way, all elevators, most of the staircases, but also the auditorium are maintained. The main changes made to the building are an addition of two levels for the studios and a prolongation on the two sides.

The project consists in creating a kite factory on the ÂŤTour de GourzeÂť, held by two persons who live there. The project has to be built with local and light materials, in wood and fabric.

Elevation

The shape of the factory is inspired by the archetype of the roof, which acts as a shelter against the wind and the rain. The light wood/fabric construction is supported by the heavy stone tower (Tour de Gourze). Just as a drawbridge, a wooden plateforme enables the users to try the kites outside, directly from the workshop.

Craftwork i

The project consists in imaging a self-sufficient village around the ÂŤTour de GourzeÂť near Lausanne, which is particularly exposed to wind. The village has to be linked with a wind-energy infrastructure.

ÂŤWhen the wind comes up, the machine starts. Buckets filled with water regain their cyclic movement. Imposing wooden constructions are supported by thick concrete slabs, built along the hill: an entrance leads to the workshop, a high open space. Stairs lead to a collective room, where people can cook, eat and meet together. Finally, we arrive to the private space, a long corridor with a succession of rooms. At the top of the village, we finally see the engine. Here, the buckets are filled with water and start their cycle.Âť Model 1:200

BARHAUS The objective of the Barhaus consists in bringing together groups of people in a place where they can meet, discuss and enjoy. The Barhaus placed at the end of the 60 meters wood installation, repre-

sents the conclusion of the ÂŤHouse 2Âť project. The chimney has a central position in our project and defines a landmark for the whole installation. 26
