— PROJECT OUTLINE Sophia Romano, 38, runs her own personal fashion stylist business from her one-bedroom apartment in Florence, Italy. The studio is designed for the designer’s chosen clientele who visit the studio on invitation basis. The clothes and accessories on display are meant only for the specific clients on a particular visit. All the alterations and manufacturing are outsourced or done outside the studio. This place is a solution for the designer’s brainstorming sessions and displaying the final outputs. It is a single user workspace accommodating client visits on workdays and friends over weekends. The main objective of the project is to produce a cohesive room which successfully blends an efficient home office with a comfortable living space .

CLIENT RESEARCH A personal stylists work for individual clients which comprehend images and colour consultancy, one on one styling as well as shopping guidance. Essentially, styling is a way of assembling clothing and accessories, to exhibit them in their most desirable or attractive way, dependant on the clientele requirements. The styling process involves selecting and experimenting with many alternative garments to establish the perfect composition. The stylist tasks and responsibilities vary from: Keeping up to date with the latest trends Reading about fashion cycles Advising client via sketching for visuals Supervising photoshoots Selecting the most appropriate look Select items to appear in fashion magazines/media Source fashions items and props for photographic shoots or film/tv personalities • Liaise with fashion designers, retailers, the media, models/model agencies, photographers, makeup artiest • Provide fashion direction to clients • • • • • • •
CLIENT BRIEF The client requires a dual-purpose room which successfully blends living and a home office space. The multi-purpose living room needs to function as a well-organized home office for styling outfits, and meeting with clients. The office needs to be efficient for the owner and the clientele. The space needs to be able to incorporate a clever scheme which will showcase a sizeable office arrangement into an economic yet stylist office and living space. It needs to be attractive as it is the first room you see when you walk into the home. A subtle palette of light tones and metals and textures would be preferred , which will suit the working environment during the day and create a fun aesthetics for evenings and weekends.

CONCEPT BOARD
Transformable space saving furniture which uses less space and provides dual functions. The desk is suitable for every need, space and context. It is characterized by simple shapes and straight lines, with a minimalist and elegant design. The display unit is a perfect balance between art, space saving and functionality.
