BONOBOS POP-UP SHOP

ABOUT THE PROJECT This proposal for this Bunch of Bonobos pop-up shop stemmed from a design competition held by the Bonobos men’s clothing company (named after the Central African chimp), in which the challenge was to design a pop-up shop for a trendy location in NYC’s Meatpacking District. The following design for the Bunch of Bonobos shop calls upon the banana icon to demonstrate, with the assistance of Bonobos, that any man can “stand out from the bunch” by looking and feeling his best. The main building materials used here are re-used wooden pallets which are easily places, stacked, built, deconstructed and transported, thus achieving a temporary - yet visually stimulating - showcase for the Bonobos merchandise. Interactive Fit Technology is also used.

TORONTO HOME SHOW - DREAM HOME BOOTH

ABOUT THE PROJECT This proposal for the Dream Home Exit Booth at the Toronto National Home Show aims to showcase natural timber used within much of the Dream Home’s design. This booth proceeds the experience of the Dream Home, and showcases all of the contributors who made the Dream Home possible. For this project, we drew inspiration directly from the timber itself - specifically the negative and positive colouring in the grain. This concept directed us to stagger the timber beams to create reveals in the experience of the space. This allows for interconnectivity from both inside and outside of the booth. The staggered heights provide a unique visual experience while moving through the space, as they symbolize trees in their natural element.

SUSTAINABLE CITY LIVING HUB THESIS

!
ABOUT THE PROJECT The proposal for Toronto’s new Sustainable City Living HUB looks to foster a public living space which encourages and enhances sustainable lifestyles for city dwellers, through socially rich and environmentally respectable spaces. By incorporating living and work spaces, food amenities and educational resources - all of which have a specific sustainable basis - under one indoor built environment, this all-encompassing, mixed-use facility aims to revolutionize the way urban dwellers live and experience the city. With the ultimate goal being to form a framework which is a model for living, and sustaining future generations of Toronto.
