I became interested in photography when I started shooting bands at punk and metal shows in Manchester. Alternative wedding & lifestyle photography have since become my true passion. I like to photograph couples who like to do things a bit differently.
Relax! Trust your wedding photographer, even if it feels unnatural or silly your photographer knows how to capture the perfect photographs.
Make time! Schedule time into your day for your group and couple portrait.
Do your homework! Try to look at as many wedding photographers as possible until you find someone with a style you love. - Get to know your photographer! It is important that you get to know and like them, they will be with you all day on the most important day of your lives.
My style is natural and modern! I try to put my own spin on wedding photography and aim to create beautiful, timeless images that tell your story! I’ve been told that I’m a pretty laid back guy. When not at weddings I still love to photograph a good stage dive.
3.Get a Pinterest account. If you have a style in mind for your day, any colour palettes or flowers you love or images of dresses / suits – basically inspiration in any shape or form – get it together on a Pinterest board and take it to your chosen suppliers. Visual folk work best with images. 4.Check your proofs carefully. Any good designer will make sure you receive digital proofs of your designs before they go off to be printed. Check these proofs carefully to minimise risk of typos and wrong information.
5.Do not spoil your stationery with bad handwriting. If you would like to include your guests names on your invitations make sure you - or someone you know - have nice handwriting and consider the pen you are writing them in. A beautiful design will surely be spoilt with blue biro
Kathryn Tyrrell from Beauty Call I have always loved hair and make up since been a little girl and playing with my dolls so as I grew up it was a natural progression to do it for a living. As I began my freelancing career I was getting so busy that I was having to turn customers away so becoming a Beauty Call Franchisee seemed like a natural progression as my business grew. I have some amazing artists on my team and great support from Nicky and Phil in head ofďŹ ce.
Top tips 1.Always use a primer underneath your foundation because you will have it on a long time and this will help it stay looking fresh! 2. Have your hair and make up trial around 6-8 weeks before the wedding.
3. Choose your dress and any head wear before having your hair and make up trial because this will dictate your look. 4. High light and contour your skin to make the best of your facial features.
Erica Stacey Bridalwear Consider having interchangeable elements within your dress design to keep your guests guessing throughout the day! For example, a removable train will look stunning during your ceremony, but can be removed for dancing instead of bustling the fabric up at the back and won’t trail along the floor or outside in a muddy field if you are having a festival themed wedding! Also remember to have some back detail – your guests can see you from the back whilst you walk down the aisle. All of our gowns are made-tomeasure from our Manchesterbased studio and can be Ready in as little as six weeks! Collect images from magazines and
the Internet and Erica will sketch ideas, show you fabrics, laces and trims: You will have the studio to yourself and will soon start to see your perfect design come to life over a cup of tea!
Don’t settle – if you want something go for it – if a supplier says no then perhaps they aren’t the supplier for you?
If your on a tight budget let your supplier know ... Perhaps they do a basic range (we do!) or they may want to try something new and you could guinea pig for a reduced rate! The Princess & The Cupcake

To and From is my part time passion. I am a Graphic Designer and work at a Manchester design studio 4 days a week. At the end of the week I get my creative wedding cap on and get to work on creating beautiful stationery for wonderful folk. I have been running To and From for a couple of years. I love every part of my work, from the early design idea stages to tying the very last bow. I usually only work on one job at a time, meaning brides and grooms get my full attention during this
1.Make a good impression. Your invitations are the ďŹ rst insight your guests will get into your wedding, ďŹ rst impressions count.
Try and find a dress in your wardrobe that suits you – this will inspire you when trying on wedding gowns to know what suits your body shape best! Consider having a bespoke wedding dress made: Not only will you have a dress like no other, you will be able to have exactly what you want design-wise and it will fit your body shape perfectly. Bespoke is not as expensive as you may think!
Think about the underwear you are going to wear on your wedding day. We can make hidden corsetry in our dresses. If you want a low back on your dress, but want to wear a bra, this may be the solution for you.
Make sure you sit down, walk about and hug someone at your final fitting. The dress needs to fit you perfectly! As well as looking gorgeous on your wedding day, you need to feel comfortable and be able to dance, eat and drink.
