RETHINK MODERN LIVING IN THE HISTORIC JETHRO COFFIN HOUSE BEDROOM Directed by Ellen Fisher, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean, winning students were guided to develop narratives about their design concepts and to rethink modern life in various historic properties as a featured event for Nantucket by Design, a fundraiser event for the Nantucket Historical Association. The students researched the island’s history and culture, and created their vision for fundraiser participants to experience.

THE LEGEND OF THE SEA SERPENT The local legend of the Nantucket sea serpent began when a resident spotted what he thought to be a sea serpent one mile from the south shore, which led to an enthusiastic expedition to capture the alleged creature. Inspired by this legend dating back to the early nineteenth century, the proposed design will integrate contemporary design language with the historic character of the Oldest House to create a bedroom that is atmospheric of this enthralling tale. Captivating and elusive, the proposed design will pay homage to one of the island’s oldest, most esteemed, and most mystifying stories.

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENT SET FOR OFFICE SPACE The objective of this project was to create a complete construction document set using Revit. The project entailed schematic space planning, drafting floor plans, elevations and section details as well as sourcing furnishings and lighting. Revit’s built-in rendering software was used to render perspectives which were then enhanced using Photoshop.

con ce p t + c l ient profi le CLI EN T PROFILE POST MALONE
Post Malone is an American musician whose work borders the line between rap, hip-hop, grunge, country, and rock. From his famous face tattoos to his painted nails, Post Malone maintains an unconventional appearance and carefree demeanor toward life, intent on making each day a lively party.
CONCEPT
GENRELESS: A compilation of rustic authenticity, urban sophistication, and pop culture
Known to blend hip-hop, rock, and country influences in both his fashion and music, Post Malone refers to his overall profile as “genreless”. The design of MaLone Star will take cues from this melting pot approach to style by layering unexpected elements from Post’s variety of diverse influences.

DESIGN FOR THE HEDQUARTERS OF A CHOSEN NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION For this project I was presented with two floor plan options and used knowledge of The Sierra Club's brand identity in determining which option would best suit the organization's sustainable, active, and inclusive corporate culture. The project entailed designing a modern-day office space that would support a variety of daily activities to include focused individual work-time, group discussions, and team projects. The offices were also assumed to be the site of local, national, and international conferences and presentations to corporate officers and other personnel.
con ce p t + c lient profile CLI EN T PROFILE The Sierra Club is a United States non-profit environmental organization which was founded by John Muir in 1892. With the help of volunteers, grassroots activists, and partner organizations, the Sierra Club lobbies for environmental legislation, organizes campaigns to mitigate climate change, and establishes programs that promote direct and equal access to nature.
CONCEPT ROOTED IN PROGRESS
MI SS I O N STATEMENT “To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth; To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth’s ecosystems and resources; To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment; and to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.”
Like in nature, growth relies on roots. The design of The Sierra Club’s corporate headquarters will express how the organization’s historical “roots”, together with its foundation of grass”roots” volunteers, work to propel their mission to protect the environment and achieve environmental justice.

RECEPTION A biophilic wall backdrop and alternating chair upholstery emphasizes the concept of growth, progress, diversity and inlcusion.
STORAGE BUILT-IN A vertical built in storage unit featuring a ladder invites activity in the workplace and reinfoces the Sierra Club’s active corporate culture.
PRIVACY "CAVES" By transforming the conventional privacy booth into its natural counterpart (the cave), the design internalizes The Sierra Club’s passion for nature and exploring.
PRIVACY PODS Finished with sustainable cork interiors, a series of individual privacy pods provide further opportunity for privacy amid the office’s open floor plan.
LIBRARY/LOUNGE This series of upholstered seating maximizes square footage by functioning as both an ergonomic breakout zone and waiting area.
