Eczema is a skin condition that varies in severity from mild to severe. Not surprising then that many people who live with this condition seek out eczema home remedies that will work for them and make their lives that much easier. The symptoms of eczema range from dry patches, cracked red skin that becomes inflamed and then bleeds. The skin also itches terribly and as well as bleeding, it can weep.

Some of the eczema home remedies that are then helpful for this skin condition, involve helping to keep the dry and cracked skin moist and supple. Amongst these remedies, the bathing in oatmeal is often suggested to anyone who wants to find natural ways of managing their eczema. This is because oatmeal has a natural cleansing and soothing effect to the skin. You can also use oatmeal as a paste mixed with honey that is then applied to the affected areas. The honey will in effect act as an agent that will kill the bacteria that is often associated with eczema. The paste should be left on the area for about forty minutes and this will sooth and moisten the skin.

What is also often used as an eczema home remedies is nutmeg. Nutmeg is grated into a fine powder, mixed with water into a paste and spread over the skin. This will help in the same way that oatmeal helps: to sooth and moisten the skin.

counter-intuitive to subject already delicate and fragile skin to the rays of the sun, but the sun can kill the troublesome bacteria that is present in the skin that causes the eczema. As stated though, this method as a remedy for eczema won't work for everyone, it is simply a matter of trying something like this and finding out if it works for you.

Also, try and wear natural fibers wherever possible, such as cotton and linen because these materials will not irritate the skin as much as man made fibers will. Obviously the same is true of the bed clothes that you choose to use at night.

Stress often plays a part in the severity of eczema and so eliminating stress often helps. Aim for relaxing situations. Adjust your diet and avoid foods that bring on your eczema; for this reason, many sufferers keep a food journal so that they can understand how food affects their condition.

However as eczema home remedies go, the remedies suggested will all work to control and manage this often debilitating skin condition, but they will not cure it.
