Ancient Chinese Secret China is said to have more proverbs than anywhere else on Earth. The origins of some are lost in the mists of time. Others appear to be related to comments by Confucius and other ancient sages. Some examples: “The swiftest horse can't overtake a word once spoken”, “Before telling secrets on the road, look in the bushes”, “A bad word whispered echoes a hundred miles”, “A sharp tongue or pen can kill without a knife”, “With time and patience the mulberry leaf becomes a silk gown.”… Made initially from mulberry fiber paper and silk, hand-painted wallpaper in China dating from c.1800 is the inspiration for this very modern reinterpretation of Chinese Wallpaper, of Oriental gardens featuring birds and flowers with foliage, painted on a background of nuanced color. Branches of bamboo and flowering shrubs intermingle with the Birds in various positions, on branches and under branches, seemingly as if singing and chattering away.

Infinity Knot The Chinese Endless Knot is one of the most often used symbols in Feng Shui. Strong graphic milling of forces and colors is pleasing to the eye and deeply symbolic. This knot symbolizes a long and happy life full of good fortune. It is believed that the presence of the feng shui mystic knot will benefit every aspiration of your life, thus this feng shui symbol is often used in amulets for love, abundance, protection amulets, feng shui for career and many other feng shui applications. Various interpretations of the symbol are: eternal love and friendship, the eternal continuum of mind, the endless cycle of suffering or birth, death and rebirth, the inter-twining of wisdom and compassion.

Casanova Casanova the Print was created after a recent trip to Venice. Strolling through the tight streets and alleyways, I was drawn to a little shop with a small book in its window titled Casanova. Captivated by the book and a small engraved picture of a couple deep in embrace, I took a photo through the glass. Imagine the couple about to part, her, blushing still in her bedclothes after a night of passion in Casanova’s arms, the couple cling to each other for a few last stolen moments. The colors are emblematic of Venice’s ornate painted Palazzos along the Grand Canal. The sumptuous colors of Carnevale, the colors of a 16th-century Doge’s Palazzo, precious fabrics, handmade Murano or Modern Chihuly glass light fixtures, and the atmosphere of modern and ancient Venetian Grand Life. 14

Rajasthani, Paisley and On Fire are a Trio of Prints Inspired by the Mughal Painting of the 1600’s in India. Akbar, the father of Mughal Painting, was a patron to hundreds of artists who created what is known known as Rajasthani Painting . Akbar himself was a great patron of art and culture. He was fond of literature, and created a library of over 24,000 volumes written in Sanskrit, Hindustani, Persian, Greek, Latin, Arabic and Kashmiri, staffed by many scholars, translators, artists, calligraphers, scribes, bookbinders and readers. Holy men of many faiths, poets, architects and artisans adorned his court from all over the world for study and discussion. Akbar's courts at Delhi, Agra, and Fatehpur Sikri became centers of the arts, letters, and learning. Perso-Islamic culture began to merge and blend with indigenous Indian elements, and a distinct Indo-Persian culture emerged characterized by Mughal style arts, painting, and architecture.
