PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE Martin Luther King said that “progress and ultimately success is neither automatic nor inevitable. Every step toward the goal requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.” Throughout your time at Tenby Schools each of you has sacrificed, suffered and struggled, but it has been ‘good struggle’ with many moments of amazing learning, and the effort that you have put in has paid off, you have reached your first goal, your first milestone. You have proven yourselves to be assets to the school, a source of pride for your families and young men and women of great character. I am certain that you are ready for the next step in your journey. There is a poem that I traditionally read out at the end of the graduation ceremony and it is one that I would like to share with you all now. I hope that you read it carefully and carry it with you in your hearts and minds every day of your lives, it is called Take Time:
Take time to think – It is the source of all power Take time to read – It is the foundation of all wisdom Take time to play – It is the source of perpetual youth Take time to be quiet – It is the opportunity to seek inner peace Take time to be aware – It is the opportunity to help others Take time to love and be loved – It is mankind’s greatest gift Take time to laugh – It is the music of the soul Take time to be friendly – It is the road to happiness Take time to dream – It is what the future is made of Take time to pray – It is the greatest power on earth Take time to give – It is too short a day to be selfish Take time to work – It is the price of success Take time for family – they are the foundation upon which all else is built Take time to let us know how you are doing – your successes are of great value to us and we love to hear all about them Remember ‘Once a Titan, always a Titan’ and I hope to see you return to tell us of your learning journeys in the many years ahead. I wish you, on behalf of Tenby Schools, the very best of luck. Cael taith braf! (Bon Voyage)
Mr Richard Davidson
Teachers' Messages Ms Becky Gray - Head of Sixth Form - Geography Teacher
Class of 2020, you will always have a special place in my memory as my first graduating class at Tenby Ipoh. Even in the short time that I have known you I have seen you grow into young people who are ready move on to the next stage in your lives, and Covid has certainly helped ensure that you are ready for whatever obstacles life may throw your way.
The friendships you have nurtured can continue to be precious to you as you move on to your next steps – but only if you choose to invest in their future. Make choices that you will be happy with as they will determine your next steps. Take risks. Be brave. Be prepared to fall and remember to get back up and try again. Most of all…be happy.
I have watched you laugh, comforted some of you as you cried, looked on as you rehearsed dances…but most of all, I have seen you playing cards! I have never known a group of young people so committed to the game of Uno, and then whatever you graduated to once the Uno cards disappeared. I have also learnt that you are capable of great things and I can’t wait to see what happens next for each of you.
Congratulations on your graduation and good luck for the future, Miss Becky
Congratulations, class of 2020! I am very proud of you all and honoured to be here today to celebrate your success with all of you. My dear students, as you leave this school, expect that some challenges await you, which I strongly believe going by the manner you all have conducted yourselves over the years and the skills and knowledge we have imparted in you, you will surely overcome them. Blessings as you now begin a new and exciting phase of your life!
Dear Class of 2020, We are in the middle of an unforeseen crisis that you and I have been cast into. The COVID19 pandemic is the new disaster. We are getting to know too well. For so many positive reasons, your batch will always have a special place in my heart I have taken four words which I have made pillars of my life, and I hope they help any of you that I can reach.
Mr Kuttappana Ganesan Vinodh - Physics Teacher - Head of Science - Assistance Head of Academics
The first one I'd like to say: resilience. Try to be resilient while sustaining a positive outlook — not only for your sake, but also the sake of those around you. The next one for me is kindness. A small hello with a smile. Simple consideration for the elderly. Sharing enthusiasm for a small child's bicycle. These are seemingly small gestures that can provide some comfort to another person who might need that small act of kindness.
Ms Chong Yoke Cheng - Chemistry Teacher - Our Class Tutor
This brings me to commitment. I have a commitment to help my students in whatever way I can. And that fills my heart with pride. Lastly, balance. Work, rest, recreation and family create a balance in your life. Balance affords you the opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest. So these four words — resilience, commitment, kindness, balance — have helped me through the most trying situations. I hope you keep these 4 words in your mind forever. You're capable and can take on your next challenge. You have my respect all the time. I take my hat off to you and congratulate you and wish you all the best for your bright future.
This Y13 batch is exceptional and definitely full of life. I’m indeed blessed to teach some of you and I’ve come to love you so much that I feel it’s too soon to part. All of you were remarkable and I can foresee each one of you being the shining star wherever you set your foot upon. So, embrace & brace yourselves, face the world and achieve your dreams. Do what makes you happy and most importantly, never let your guard down. Wishing each one of blessings beyond measure đ&#x;˜‰
Ms Esther Albert Psychology Teacher
Dear Y13, you are moving on towards your tertiary education, I would like to give a few words of advice; not of my own but from those I admire, starting from: a) Charlie Munger 2007 -“You’re not going to get very far in life based on what you already know. You’re going to advance in life by what you’re going to learn after you leave here. I believe that what there is a lot to the world that we don't know about and to bite the humble pill can prove beneficial. b)Michelle Obama 2013 -Different religion, race, political stand, it doesn’t matter. We can all learn from one another" Talk to each other with an open mind;simple to read, not easy to follow. c) Dory the fish,Finding Nemo 2003- "Just keep swimming" Everyone has their own pace, follow your own; don't get dragged into the rat race but keep moving forward. I wish you the very best, kids God bless.
Ms Komalsh Theeran (Ms K) Biology Teacher
The only formidable rival is no one but yourself. Never say never and nothing is impossible to achieve. Have faith in yourself and I wish you all the best in your future endeavour. Â Thank you.
Dr Cheah Kah Wai Mathematics Teacher

Mr Tan Kim Theng Mathematics Teacher

Mr Manoharan s/o Letchuman Economics Teacher
Dear Graduating Class, “Always be enthusiastic of tomorrow. Keep confident of your skills and persevere. When opportunity comes your way, make full use of it. Enjoy the rewards that life has to offer and all the best in your future endeavors.”
Ms Mangalespary M Balasundaram Business Studies Teacher
I hope that you have enjoyed your time as Tenby students and that you are looking forward to taking the next steps in your journey. Good luck in the future, may all your dreams and wishes come true.

COMMITTEE I am so glad to have met every unique one of you. I used to think that the A-levels community in Tenby is so small and confined; but I realised how much larger my world had actually become because of every one of you in the past two years. You've made my world of knowledge and experience more fruitful and vast! So, although we have a small community, our world is so large together as we learn from each other’s different personalities and experiences. We’ve been through ups and downs together, tolerated and accepted each other’s differences, studied and played hard together. Through this two- yearjourney with you guys, I am so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful friends and I truly hold each and everyone of you close to my heart.
NICOLE YAP SHEN HWEIÂ
(HEAD STUDENT)
Of course, teachers, if you are reading this, I want to thank you so much for being part of my life and guiding me not only through my studies but also my personal development. I really appreciate the times when you tell me off (although rarely, because I am a good student, right? Hahaha jkjk) , when you check on me when I seem down, and when you share your little stories that lift our moods up! Dearest Friends, I hope the best on all your future endeavours. I believe in you! Chase your dreams fearlessly, whilst maintaining your virtue and wisdom đ&#x;˜Š
Your school life will have many ups and downs ,but for the most part, if you stay true to yourself and spread kindness, you won’t have any regrets. There will be arguments and disagreements with others and you will sometimes feel alone. But the times you look back on and remember, are the good times. The times you shared with your friends, the times when you pushed yourself to do something out of your comfort zone, the times when stress and anxiety overwhelmed you but you overcame it. A levels is like a family, and with family you may not always like everyone all the time or get along, but you surely love them and wish them well. So to everyone reading this, be brave and make your life as amazing as it can be.

i would like to thank all the members of staff as well as my fellow classmates for 14 splendid years here at Tenby Schools Ipoh. I don’t think I’ll ever come across a community with such unity and excellence. As I depart to further my studies I will have nothing but blissful memories to take with me.

Eating unhealthy food, doing past papers all night, playing pool and cards, sleeping on the couch, and stressing teachers out. I’d say that’s a summary of our time in Tenby A-levels. In the morning we would first get told off for sleeping on the couch with the lights off, and then we would start our day with Ms.Chong’s morning stories and news. At break we’d play a game of pool or steal each others’ breakfasts. During lunch we would spend an hour playing cards with blasting music, or we’d go out for some junk food and speed on our way back to make it in time LAM AN JU

COMMITTEE “Can’t believe it has been 13 years since I joined Tenby. 20072020, basically been studying in Tenby my whole life. No regrets though. Some of the best memories i have with all of you will always be the ones where we go on school trips. Hands down the best school trip for me was in Year 9, Penang trip for 3 days 2 nights. Honestly I remember so many funny & awkward moments during that trip but it all ended up perfectly great. I’ll always be thankful for how many amazing teachers & friends i’ve met over the past 13 years, wouldn’t be where I am today without them. Never thought I’d finish my whole

primary, secondary and A levels in Tenby completely but here I am class of 2020, what a journey. Thank you for everything Tenby!!” So it marks an end to my 6 year stint at this school, filled with countless memories and nightmares. Lively, Stressful, Joyful. Those are the words I’d use to describe my years in Tenby... I’d like to thing that we contributed towards making Tenby a better place of education and we represented Tenby in the best way possible. Every day was an adventure, and the excitement never faded. However, when your in the moment, you dread it, when it has passed you, you miss it, so my message to my juniors? Enjoy every second of this place, cause they don’t come much better,
