In 1971 Reyner Banham stated that Los Angeles freeways as a whole were in themselves a space existing in citizens everyday life just as their homes or leisure spaces (“...the freeway system in its totality is now a single comprehensible place, a coherent state of mind, a complete way of life, the fourth ecology of Angeleno”). Roads and freeways had reached an outsanding status in American cities landscapes. Its influence in the architecture of the time was noticed in the forthcoming years through diverse publications that involved driver perspective in the process of architecture (A view from the road, Learning from Las Vegas...) Years later, Julio Cortázar and Carol Dunlop set out on a trip to test Reyner Banham theories at a rural level: they would travel from Paris to Marseille, spending at least one night in every rest area along the freeway. They called themselves “autonautas” and defied conventions
to provide the spaces with unplanned uses. Through this journey, they documented for the first time the living nature of freewyas beyond their relationship with cities. Freeways are living architectural systems, with a varying population, which generate a specific understanding of the environment. The project “Fabuloso Circuito de Contreras” is a theoric exercise in search of architectural solutions for “autonauta’s life”.

Developed as part of AGi architects’ team. Find more at: www.agi-architects.com
AGi architects is an international firm based in Madrid working on a wide range of projects in the Middle East and Europe. As a graphic designer , with an architectural background, I produced outstanding graphic information to help communicate ideas and concepts, but also coordinated the team to reach deadlines, and participate in architectural design decisions. I translate architectural ideas (which are often complex) into a graphic and clear language, and prepare presentations to communicate our philosophy to the clients. This has been my goal during the six years I led the graphic department in the office. As a result of the team effort, 4 first prizes were achieved in that time (out of 16 competition).

In collaboration with cedecarmona. Find more at: http://dittoproject.tumblr.com/ According to the dictionary, Ditto: 1. the aforesaid; the above; the same 2. another of the same. 3. a duplicate; copy.
Ditto project is a visual exercise based on repetition with minimal variation, in search of expression, relating to portrait photography. The project was born aiming to gain experience with different fields of art direction and photography: color, lighting, post-production, etc, but also as a way of communicate with todays world, attempting to fit in media standards, where images, and more precisely, portraits and selfies, are the visible head of our beings.
