North East India and How It is Perceived India is a democracy where its people live with pride and dignity. Each region here makes the country even more exuberant so, does the North East of the country. Even the magic in the title – The Seven Sisters and Their Brother, makes them sound mesmerizing. However, their amour propre is crumbled. These people get to hear words like ‘Chinki Chinese’ or phrases such as ‘live in tree houses’. There is irrational discrimination over the language they speak or the cultures, customs and rituals they follow just by adding a tag over them that these people are "Chinese".

They felt heartbroken when the people told them that they won’t let the birds in the sky fly high and would rather roast them as their meals even after not knowing the truth. Why? Is all this correct? Do the people deserve to be treated like that? Aren’t these people humans who have feelings too?
The North East plays an imperative role for India just like the way other regions of the country do. It’s this place which makes the country the wealthiest and the largest tea producer of the world, a hub where unique art forms are found with an ecstatic cuisine tempting the people to relish it. It’s a catchy eye for the tourists to visit the ravishing and mystical sceneries, and take a closer look at the isolated customs they follow, their dances, way of dressing and much more. Yet the North East gets to perceive that they are not a part of the country!
We have to stop these unwelcomed practices. How? Treat these peoples as humans just like the way you are, they must attain the dignity they deserve. Read as much as we can about them to stop our prejudices cloud our thoughts. We know we can, because over the time of years iniquity has come to a great fall in the country so must this vanish out too from each aspect of the society.
