GENERAL INFORMATION & SALE NOTES Location: The Annual Spring Sale 2022 will be held in J.A. McClelland’s, Ballymena Mart, Woodside Rd, Broughshane, Ballymena. Arrival: Sheep to arrive on Saturday morning 26th March 2022 from 9.00am and are subject to a veterinarian inspection from 9.30-10.30am in the sale pens. Method of Sale: All sheep will be sold in guineas and in catalogue order commencing at 1.30pm. Conditions of Sale: The event is held subject to the conditions of sale detailed at the back of this catalogue. A full list is available on request. Settlement & Clearance of Stock: Settlement in full is due to the auctioneers immediately at the close of the sale. Cheque payment is for approved customers of J.A. McClelland’s & Son’s only. CONDITIONS OF SALE 1. The highest bidder to be the buyer, and if any dispute arise between the bidders the decision of the Auctioneers shall be final, or at his discretion the lot in dispute shall immediately be put up again and re-sold. The Auctioneer reserves the right to refuse the bid of any person, and regulates the bidding, and no bidding to be retracted. 2. The purchasers to give their names and places of abode in writing, and pay the full purchase money for each lot at the fall of the hammer, (if required), in default of which the lot or lots so Purchased may immediately be put up again and re-sold. 3. No lot or lots shall be removed from the premises till paid for, but each and every lot shall, immediately at the fall of the hammer, be considered as delivered and be and remain in every respect the absolute risk of the respective purchaser or purchasers thereof, and shall be removed from the place of the Sale at the purchaser’s expense. 4. All descriptions constitute a warranty, to terminate at 8 o’clock on day of Sale. 5. If any purchaser shall fail to comply with the above conditions, or any part of them, the Auctioneer shall be at liberty to either recover in full the amount of lot or lots bought by such purchaser, without reference to any delivery or acceptance of the lot or lots other than the first delivery by the fall of the hammer, or to re-sell any lot or lots bought by the purchasers, either by public or private sale, and the full amount of the purchase money at the present sale, or the deficiency (if any) arising from such second sale shall be made good by the defaulter at the present sale, and to be recoverable as and for liquidated damages 6. No money will be paid to the proprietor of any lot sold, unless the lot be cleared by the purchaser, and the Auctioneers will not be answerable for any deficiency that may arise on the resale of any un-cleared property. 7. Exhibitor and Purchasers are to understand that, although every reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure safety and welfare of the animals exhibited, the Auctioneers will not be responsible for loss, or accidents of any kind, that may occur. Nor will the Auctioneers be accountable for any accident that may occur to any person attending the Sale, whether as a visitor, exhibitor, or in any other capacity. 8. The pedigree, history and description of each animal is guaranteed by the owner, and no liability whatsoever is undertaken by the Auctioneer or the Club for the statements in the catalogue or announcements made at the time of sale, the exhibitors who supply such statements are alone responsible. 9. No undertaking of the Auctioneers or their servants to take charge of the lot or animals after the Sale, or to forward them to their destination, shall be held to impose upon the Auctioneers any legal obligation or vitiate any of the foregoing conditions. 10. All unsold lots are at the risk of the owners immediately they pass out of the Sale Ring. 11. Exhibitors must provide competent persons to take charge of their stock up to the close of the Sale. 12. Should any question arise not provided for in the foregoing conditions, the decision of the Auctioneers shall be final, from which there shall be no appeal. 13. The Association reserves the right to object to any Entry or to remove any sheep from the Show without incurring liability for compensation. 14. Non-Club Members - Not allowed to Show. 15. All entries to be number marked by the exhibitor by means of back stamp, with their lot number, corresponding with their tattoo mark, detailed in the sale catalogue. All entries must bear an official UK flock number on a tag, along with an unique Individual number. 16. Each exhibitor must bring a SG2 form to accompany their sheep. 17. White coats to be worn by all exhibitors. 18. Minimum sale price may be agreed by Committee. 19. All sheep to be presented to the club appointed inspector for pre entry inspection by 9.30am on sale day. 20. The Club reserves the right to establish and impose minimum sale prices whereby animals cannot be sold below: Ram Lambs & Shearlings - 400gns: Shearling Ewes - 300gns: Ewe Lambs - 250gns.
