‘Be Agents Of Positive Change’ Continued from pg.1 to act as agents of positive change and transformation for our dear nation’’, he said. The President reassured that government on its part was committed to addressing the challenges in the nation’s educational sector. He, therefore, called on all stakeholders in the sector to support the teachers in their sacred assignment of building the present and future leaders of the country. “If we must develop as a people and a country, then, we cannot afford to leave this important task to our teachers alone. We must reason with them, we must work with them, and we must continue to support them’’, he added. Jonathan noted with delight the roles being played by teachers in sustainable development, and thanked them for their immense contributions in the field of medicine, science, technology, politics and the economy. He said his administration was determined to address teacher shortage and improve the

Archbishop Tasks Politicians On Nigeria’s Unity By OSE EHEBHA POLITICIANS in the country have been cautioned against utterances and “acts capable of breaking up the country. The Archbishop of Bendel Province, Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Friday Imaekhai who gave the charge in a chat with SUNDAY OBSERVER, advised politicians aspiring for political positions in 2015 to be decent in their utterances, while respecting the views of others. “We strongly advise that Nigerians, especially those aspiring for political positions to be decent in their utterances and respect other people’s views. “They should desist from acts capable of breaking the nation into pieces and emphasize more on those things that unite us and de-emphasize those things that
tend to tear us apart. “We must not forget the role of God in the choice of leaders. So let us not kill ourselves because of struggle for power and political patronage”, he cautioned. Archbishop Imaekhai implored Nigerians to use the independence celebration to reflect on their common life, and also celebrate the patriotism, selflessness, commitment and resourcefulness of heroes past. He equally appealed to the media to allow overall interest of country guide their reporting, just as he gave nod to the proposed convocation of national conference, if it will engender lasting peace. NEWS ANALYSIS
Nigeria At 53: Is The Federal Govt really Broke
LAST week ended on a solemn note with the plane crash in Lagos where about thirteen persons died. The plane which was bearing the corpse of the former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu had barely taken off from lagos on its way to Akure when it crashed. May the soul of the departed rest in peace. Amen. Some few days earlier Nigerians came out in their numbers to celebrate the nation at 53 in their green and white regalia and what use to be the preserve of school children and the young at heart was celebrated in different ways across the nation. It was obvious that October 1 st has now gained more recognition in our national calendar as every effort was not spared to celebrate this day even though some persons feel there was nothing really to be happy for. But for the patriotic zeal which binds us as one nation this long., the unity of our diverse cultures even when
some self centered individuals tried to tear down the fabric that holds us together with religious and sectional sentiments, we still remain one indivisible nation. That is enough reason to roll out the drums. Apart from using ethnicity and religion to build fences that want to alienate us as one nation with wanton destruction and killing of innocent souls for illogical reasons, the creator has made us one Nigeria. It beats ones imagination therefore, that in a nation state like Nigeria, the federal and states government have jettisoned the primary reason of acquiring power . In this age and time when nations are moving higher in their interpersonal and corporate relationships for mutually beneficial opportunities, we still find a situation where the big brother strives to strangulate the younger ones. There are indications that every means possible are been employed to make life unbearable for the states by the federal government to the
By EUBALDUS ENAHORO extent they can no more meet their financial obligation all because the federal allocation, due to states have not been released. As a labor man and workers friendly governor, the Comrade Governor of Edo state could no more bear this suffocating method being adopted by the federal government and he had to inform the world of this surreptitious attitude of the federal government to the states, If the governor had not spoken out, there have been whispers in certain quarters that the state was broke. This posture or idea is fueled by the fact that the laudable programmes being embarked upon by the state government seem to have slowed down. Though it is understandable that the rains is a factor for the slow pace of construction work, but it is lamentable that the funds due to the state is not forth coming to pay the bills to run
the government effectively, It was the contention of the governor that the nonpayment of states allocations is recipe for national disaster because when the country is enmeshed in a financial crisis the states will be unable to pay salaries to their workers. In Edo state, the workers whose salaries are usually paid before the month ends are yet to get any signal towards that direction and the enviable standard that has been put in place since the inception of the administration of the Comrade Governor has been tainted. The governor was therefore absolutely correct when he raised the alarm over the inability of the federal government to pay monthly allocations to the states on a day Nigerians were jubilating as the nation attains 53 years of maturity. It was necessary the Comrade in government house expresses his fears
because it is quite unprecedented in the history of this country and for the first time since 1999 allocations can no longer come as at when due to states. In the absence of a suitable word for the present predicament in the nation, it is obvious that there is financial crisis in Nigeria which according to Oshiomhole has very serious national security implications. The point that should be noted in this diatribe on the federal government is that When the states can’t pay salaries, when the federal government can’t pay salaries as at when due and contractors are not paid which invariable leads to retrenchment of their workers, that is obviously recipe for disaster. It is also recipe for disaster when workers who live on pay as you go basis are deprived of their meager earnings to keep body and soul together. Their plans are altered terribly and they are forced to run from pillar to post to make ends meet.
The governor therefore urged the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation whose duty it is to refine and sell our common wealth- oil to wake up and meet its obligation to the federation account otherwise the integrity of government will be at stake because they can no longer keep their promises. Even when some persons had to put up a smile and pretend to be patriotic Nigerians, and that all is well, some others who could not have the opportunity to have money in their pockets as a result of the nonpayment of salaries as at when due resigned themselves to fate that one day e go better. As some will say, that is a poor man’s prayer, but who is not really poor and managing to survive, save for some opportunists who find themselves in the corridors of power they never worked hard for in Nigeria today. They have money to throw around these days and you can see them gallivanting from one drinking spots to another around town.
Documentary And Preservation Of Intangible Heritage: The Task
Before Museums
THE United Nation Education Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) defines documentation as a systematic organization and dissemination of recorded knowledge. Webster’s new international dictionary defines Documentation as the assembling, coding and dissembling of recorded knowledge comprehensively treated as an integral procedure utilizing semantic, psychological and mechanical aids and techniques of reproduction including microcopy for giving documentary, maximum accessibility and usability. Museum documentation however, differs. From the general definition applicable to that of archival and library collection. This is simply because of the technicalities involved in the documentation of objects. For any museum to be viable and reliable there must be a proper documentation of its collection and analysis especially for an ordinary man on the street to get the picture of what we intend to display or interpret by way of exhibition. Therefore documentation in museum can be defined as the making and keeping of accurate records of its collections. Documentation of cultural heritage follow different procedure depending on the experiences and method
adopted to arrive at the proper interpretation of the objects involved. At this juncture, a question could be put forward as to why the need for documentation? The answer is not far fetched, it gives relevance to the object, an object looses its value, if it lacks the necessary information. Again when an object is documented it dignifies or make the object more relevant. This make the object to have a guarantee i.e more security for the object in case of theft or loan in terms of their return. Documentations creates a greater awareness or knowledge of object(s) and people’s interest in them. In other words, the more information you have about an object, the more interest you add in them. It also reinforce our confidence in the genuineness of what we have acquired. This again helps to remove bottlenecks and confusion in the analysis and interpretation of our objects. This process encourages orderliness, organisation and management of our antiquity stores. In other words, it prevent anarchy in our collections. It help to facilitate the location of an object, which equally serve as an important aid to researcher. If these technicalities of documentation are strictly followed then it will be easier to know fake from real
By GETRUDE L.WASA objects. When a collection is properly documented then we can now talk about preservations. Preservation could mean the same term as conservation. The little difference is that one can preserve and not conserve, conservation it is for as long as ever, meaning it is for posterity. Therefore museum documentation is to be preserved and conserved for posterity. Conservation is any action taken to prolong the life of an object or acting around it. This is a fundamental duty of museum documentation officer. The care you give. There should be concentrated and deliberate efforts to enhance the life span and the value of cultural objects clearly documented as museum property. Our collection had to be monitored from time to time such that if there is any little damage, immediate remedy can account for its restoration. Preservation of objects is a team work in the museum, starting from the collection concern, responsibility and action of a group with the same mission and vision each contributing from their different perspective to achieve a singular objective (preservation.) Having stated the above, it is now appropriate to acknowledge what heritage means. It is often defined as
our legacy from the past. What we live with in the present and what we pass on to future generation to learn from, to marvel at and to enjoy. Heritage, according to shorter oxford dictionary is that which has been or may be inherited. Heritages are of two main branches. One is tangible while the other is intangible. We may think of heritage as those places and objects we wish to keep. These are cultural and natural places, objects that we value because they come from our ancestors (tangible, visible) seen objects that are properly beautiful, scientifically important and irreplaceable. They are our touchstones, our points of reference and our identity. This heritage often reflects our lives, those of our ancestors and often survives today only because of our conscious and specific efforts to document and preserve them. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has over the years been developing a network of legal instruments dealing with heritage in all ramifications. It grew out of the desire to safeguard them such that we can transmit them it intact to future generations. The task of preserving and enhancing the natural and cultural heritage of our ancestors extends far beyond the simple
preservation of landscapes and monuments preserving our tangible world sites and heritage is relevant but “What happen to the intangible heritage”? Intangible is far more important than tangible heritage. In short term put it, as “the most important”. To most people, it is a new language to contend with. The understanding is yet to be fully absorbed. Nevertheless, to explain the word “Intangible heritage let simply put it this way, it is the opposite of the tangible, what you cannot behold with your eyes, sight but rather feel. However, in documenting tangible sites and monuments, we found out that intangible aspects are quite involved. For instance in some traditional religious ceremonies, songs are rendered which one cannot capture as physical objects to be documented. Having said this, suffice me to further expantiate on the fact that the (UNESCO) convention on world heritage needs to be known widely not only by specialists responsible for cultural and natural heritage perseveration as well as intangible heritage, but by all people of each local community, states and the nation at large. Infact by all and sundry. Intangible heritage is even more urgent to impart on the younger generations, ethical and humanistic values such that “they” and future generation who will include tomorrow’s policy and
decision makers may get it right. This is to help them at stimulating their imaginations and creativity and above all (people’s) instruments by which the inherited wealth of our fore-fathers can be protected in the face of many dangers threatening it. The evils of famine, war, environmental degradation and the loss of human dignity can be spared or averted through the projection of intangible heritage. Intangible heritage no doubt will enable our younger generations to reflect on and discuss its meaning and values, acquire techniques required to manage their image throughout life. It will also give them the opportunities to evolve a learning process that will enhance their creative genuiness in terms of problemsolving as well as the imagination of artistic and aesthetic talents that can be cherished and transmitted for as long as the world exist. Intangible heritage when acknowledged, will also help world wide to stop the violation of human rights because of its emotional (richness) riches in nature. Therefore, museum as a repository for curiosities of the past is saddled with the task of documenting intangible heritage. Needless to further point out that it is highly difficult for museums to offer visual interpretation of intangible collections. To be continued next week

MR Jacob Fayeun, Chairman, Lagos Chapter, Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association (NATA), on Friday urged the Federal Government to create enabling environment for manufacturing of vehicles in Nigeria. Fayeun spoke with newsmen in Lagos against the backdrop of the new national automotive policy approved by the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday. “We urge the Federal government to put in place a suitable environment before
the implementation of the new automotive policy. “An enabling environment for local manufacturing of vehicles should first be provided to avoid new challenges. “The plan to ban imported vehicles is laudable as it will attract investors into the country. “It will also challenge our youths in technical colleges to make career in motor manufacturing and mark the beginning of a new regime of development. “ For the technicians, it will mean a higher level for us as

THE Debt Management Office (DMO) on Friday said that its domestic debt market initiative had helped to increase inflow of foreign exchange. It said that this had also contributed to the growth of external reserves and stability of the naira exchange rate. Dr Abraham Nwankwo, the Director General of DMO, disclosed this at a retreat for some members of Finance Correspondents Association of Nigeria (FICAN) on Friday in Kaduna. “As at the end of December 2012, foreign investors hold in the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) securities amounted to 5.112 billion dollars compared to about 500 million dollars as at end of January 2012.’’ Abraham said that other benefits included increase in the relative share of foreign investors’ holdings in FGN securities, adding that foreign investors accounted for zero per cent in the first quarter of 2012. According to him, the foreign investors’ shares have increased to 19.52 per cent as at the end of 2012. He said that the initiative
had significantly reduced government’s cost of borrowing and further diversification of investorbase of FGN securities. On the external debt market initiative, he said that the establishment of Nigerian sovereign bonds in the international market had provided foreign investors with requisite market information for investment decisions. He said that the DMO had created windows of opportunities for private sector to raise long-term capital for the development of the real sector and infrastructure. Nwankwo said that some private sector firms had explored and exploited these opportunities both in the domestic bond market and in the International Capital Market (ICM). “Twenty Nigerian corporates have raised longterm capital of over N200 billion from the domestic debt market between 2005 and 2012 to fund the development of the real sector. “In response to the creation of a sovereign benchmark in the ICM, four Nigerian corporates have taken due

Okoli said that rabies infection was becoming a global issue which Nigeria must not be left out in the campaign to eradicate. She underscored the need for collaboration among p h y s i c i a n s , environmentalists, public

There are so many diseases. New evolving diseases that are coming up in the world today that cut across species of animals including man,’’ she said. Okoli urged owners of pets to be ready to give proper care to their pets.

Madagascar Investigates Deaths On Tourist Island
FRANCE, the United States and some other countries have advised their nationals to avoid travel to a tourist island in Madagascar after the deaths of two Europeans and a local man who were attacked by a mob that reportedly suspected them of organ-trafficking. France has confirmed that a French national was among the dead and has urged local authorities to clarify the circumstances of what happened on the island of Nosy Be on Thursday morning. The Italian news agency ANSA said an Italian with both Italian and French passports was also killed. The attack happened after residents discovered a boy’s mutilated body on a beach, according to media in Madagascar. The reports cite witnesses as saying the two Europeans were paraded through villages, beaten and burned on a beach. There had been reports of “arson, looting and the mob killing of two foreign suspects held in police custody,” sait the U.S. Embassy in Madagascar. Organ-trafficking involves the illegal trade of kidneys and other human organs for transplants. It is hard to compile reliable data on the extent of the murky trade, which is shrouded in rumor. There are occasional prosecutions, though. This year, a court in Kosovo found two citizens guilty of human trafficking and organized crime in a major trial against people suspected of running an international organ trafficking ring that took kidneys from poor donors lured by financial promises. The deadly riots were another blow to Madagascar’s tourism
industry, which has suffered because of political tension in the Indian Ocean country, one of the world’s poorest. Madagascar, which has 20 million people, holds presidential elections on Oct. 25 amid a protracted political crisis. President Andry Rajoelina overthrew his predecessor in 2009, but Madagascar’s special electoral court has barred him from running in the election as part of measures to restore stability.
hurled them back. Riot police had earlier fired tear gas to push back the march. Thousands of protesters headed toward the site of a Brotherhood protest camp in northeast Cairo which was crushed by security forces in August. Members of the Brotherhood, which has been banned by court order, tried to reach the presidential palace but were turned back by police. Fighting also erupted in Egypt’s second city Alexandria and two Nile Delta cities. Egypt has been gripped by political and economic turmoil since army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi overthrew Mursi, the country’s first freely elected president, on July 3 after mass protests against his rule. Hundreds of people were killed in mid-August when the security forces broke up Brotherhood sit-ins in Cairo. Many of the Brotherhood’s top leaders have been arrested in a bid to decapitate Egypt’s oldest Islamist movement. Friday’s clashes in Cairo broke out as Mursi supporters tried to enter the center of Tahrir Square, the rallying point for hundreds of thousands of protesters during the popular uprising that toppled autocrat Hosni Mubarak in 2011. The protesters chanted loud slogans calling for the downfall of Sisi and waved Egyptian flags.
Italian Senate Committee Starts Berlusconi Expulsion Process ITALIAN senators met on Friday to decide whether to move towards expelling Silvio Berlusconi from parliament over his conviction for tax fraud, opening the way for a final decision later this month which could seal his political fate. Berlusconi, who has dominated Italian politics for the past two decades, did not attend the hearing but denounced the procedure as a maneuver by his political enemies to remove him. “There is no possibility of any defense and there is no reason to appear before a body which has already announced what decision it is going to take through the press,” he said in a statement issued through his lawyers. The cross-party committee of 23 senators that met on Friday is dominated by lawmakers from the center-left Democratic Party (PD) and opposition parties including the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement, who have said they will vote to strip Berlusconi of his seat in the up-
per house. The judgment, expected later on Friday, would have to be confirmed around two weeks later by a full vote of the Senate, which is also dominated by Berlusconi adversaries. After a public hearing in the morning, the committee met in a closed-door session and is expected to reach a decision in the afternoon, although it could delay a judgment until the weekend. The Senate proceedings cap a disastrous week for the 77year-old billionaire, who was forced into a humiliating climbdown on Wednesday by a party revolt which made him back center-left Prime Minister Enrico Letta in parliament. After pulling his ministers from the coalition government at the weekend and calling for new elections, Berlusconi had to reverse his decision to bring down the government and, instead, backed Letta in a confidence vote after dissenters in his own party threatened to tear the center right apart.

He Cares
Memorise: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. I Peter 5:7 Read: Genesis 12:6-8 Bible in one year Genesis 47-50 GOD is a God of greatness and He makes those who truly follow Him great. He can make you great spiritually. In John 14:12, Jesus says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because l go unto my Father”. If you are linked with Him, He will empower you to raise the dead, open blind eyes, unstop deaf ears, heal the Iame, etc.You must believe in Him and allow your faith to grow to the point of producing the kind of works Jesus did, and greater works thereafter. This tells us that God is a God of faith. In Romans 4:16-22, we read that God calls those things which are not as though they already
existed, and they materialise in line with what He has spoken. If you will please God, you must be a man or woman of faith! (Hebrews 11:6). If you can believe and obey Him blindly, He will move on your behalf. You too can call what are not as though they are and you will see His faithfulness. Moreover, the God of Abraham is a God who I worship. Abraham was a worshipper, if you check him out, you will find him building altars for God (Genesis 12:6-8; 13:1 -4). God loves those who worship Him in spirit and in truth. A couple left Nigeria for America with three children. They left on government scholarship, but on arrival, the home government cancelled the scholarship and they were left stranded with
nothing. They prayed but nothing happened and the man left for the library. But his wife began to praise God as I had earlier taught members to try praise when all else fail. That day, a group of men on d o o r- t o - d o o r evangelism visited and spoke to her of Jesus. When they finished, the sister apologised for not being able to offer them something because there was nothing in the house. They checked the fridge and kitchen and found it so. Thereafter, their leader went to bring things for them. The following week, they assisted them with jobs. Their fourth baby as a result was named ‘He Careth’. Have you prayed, fasted, and tried everything you know how to do but witnessed no change? Start worshiping Him. Worship moves God to attend to what was ignored. The Lord will reach out to do you good as you worship Him.
KEY POINT Action point: Are you facing a tough situation? Start worshipping the Lord now and expect your change.
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because l go unto my Father”.

Dog Shoots Man In Freak Accident MAN’s best friend may be no more, after a dog reportedly shot his owner in the Leg with a shot gun during a hunting trip that turned ugly. The unnamed man hunting waterfowl from a boat on the Leech River in country, mineapolis, when his dog jumped in the boat, landed on the hunter’s shotgun and inadvertently pulled the trigger. The shot man was rushed to the hospital where his gunshot wound was determined to be non-life threatening. The incident is under investigation but no criminal charges are pending the sheriff’s office said incredibly, the incident is not the first of its kind. Earlier this year Gregory Dale Lanier 35 was shot by his dog while traveling in his truck. According Highlands Today, Lanier told authorities that he didn’t realize his 380 pistol was
loaded until his dog kicked the weapon, firing a round into Lanier’s leg. “Lanier said he heard Boom, saw smoke and felt a burning in his Leg” Sebring police commander Steve Carr explained. As chance would have it a similar dog-shootsmaster situation occurred just months before. Billy E. Brown 78 was shot in the thigh by his dog as he drove to a deer hunting spot in Pasco country. The bulldog, named Eli, apparently became excited and knocked into the rifle. Last year, a hunter in France had to have his right hand amputated after his dog fired his gun while apparently attempting to cuddle his master, the BBC reported later told radio station.

Character Study Of Abraham (2) through. TEST OF FAITH: According to Hebrews 11:1,8-9 says “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. By faith, Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out; not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: for he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Through faith also Sarah herself received strength to conceive a seed and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by sea shore innumerable. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desired a better country, that is, a heavenly” wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and
he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten Son. Of whom it was said, that in Isaac shall thy seed be called: Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.” Abraham did all he did by faith. Faith is an energizer; it propels you to act positively towards whom you are having faith on. Faith can equally mean total trust on somebody or something. Abraham entrusted his life totally into the hands of God. Without faith in God, it will be difficult to serve God because you can’t offer service totally to the Divinity you don’t trust. Trusting God is more than just saying, it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him”. Abraham demonstrated faith by: a) BELIEVING IN GOD: Many people profess that they believe in God yet still seek help from witch doctors, occult and fetish powers. Others though may always sing God’s song yet believe only on charms for protection. There are men that believe more on their fellow men than God yet they say always that they believe in God. It was recorded for Abraham in Romans 4:3, 17-21 “For what saith the Scripture? Abraham believe God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many
nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were, who
was about an hundred years old, neither the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through

alive, that God’s word is true and reliable. Believing in God is believing your Pastor as long he is a genuine Servant of God, preaching the word of God in truth and in spirit. 2 Chronicles 20:20 says “Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.” Believing in God can be manifested by your confession. Words are powerful. Start confessing what you believe and with time , you will start having it. Mark 11:23 and 24 says “For

believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, what soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” b) WAITED FOR GOD: Faith can equally mean, patiently waiting on whom you believe to bring to pass that which he promise you. God promised Abraham to give him a child, though the promise tarried he did not give up trying, he did not give up on God. Many of us, when we see our expectation are not forth coming we result to other negative means. Psalm 40:1-4. Says “I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the mirry clay, and sat my feet upon a rock and established my going. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud no such as turn aside to lies.” c) ACTING ON GOD’S WORD: Whom you obey in totality is your master. If you cannot obey God that is you don’t have faith in His word. “God value His word more than His name”. Acting on God’s word is carrying out everything that God wrote in His word. Genesis 22:2&3. Says “And he said Take now thy son thine only son Isaac whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddle his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up and went into the place which God had told him.”

Getting to Know Lassa Fever
OUR health we are often told is wealth, no matter how poor we might think we are. Hence in our day to day activities domestically, adequate care is taken to ensure a home or environment free from one disease or the other, as none is too small to be ignored. It is in view of this that the disease ‘lassa fever comes to mind, as recent increase in the number of those suffering from the deadly diseases suggest that serious efforts from all needs to be put in place in order to put a stop to it. Lassa fever or Lassa hemorrhagic fever (LHF) is an acute viral hemorrhagic fever caused by the Lassa virus which was first discovered in 1969, in the Nigerian town of Lassa, in Borno state. It is a member of the arenaviridiae virus family similar to ‘Ebola’. Clinical cases of the disease has been known for over a decade but had not been connected with a viral pathogen. The infection is endemic in West African countries, causing between 300,000-500,000 cases annually, with approximately 5,000 deaths. The primary animal host of the lassa virus is the multimamate mouse (mastomys Nataleusis) a rat (rodent) indigenous to most of subSaharan Africa. According to the world Health Organization (WHO), it is transmitted to humans from contacts with food or household items contaminated with the virus, or direct contact with the faeces and urine of the infected rat. It can also be transmitted from person-to-person, through contact with secretion and excretions of someone who is infected. The symptom of Lassa fever are numerous but some of them are fever, pain behind the chest wall (retosterual pain), sore throat, Diarrhea, pink eye (conjunctivitis). Back pain, swelling of the face, protein in the urine,
mucosal bleeding (nose, mouth, lungs, and digestive tract), cough, stomach pain, vomiting, hearing loss, tremors and Encephalitis (infection/ inflammation of the brain). More so, one needs to be aware that signs and symptoms of the fever generally appear 1-3 weeks after contacts with the virus. Also the treatment of the fever consists of an antiviral drug (Ribavinu) while those with fever should also receive care consisting of maintaining appropriate fluid and electrolyte balance, oxygenation and blood pressure, and treatment of other infections that can occur. The two most common complication of Lassa fever are deafness and spontaneous Abortion and can lead to death. In other to prevent this deadly disease, households, especially housewives are adviced to always keep their food in the kitchen or house always closed, make sure all canned foods are washed properly before they are opened, drinking water are closed, wash their kitchen utensil before using them, no matter how clean they might seem to look and also make concerted efforts at reducing the population of rats in the household to the barest minimum. Due to the threat of Lassa fever to human lives, the United Nations made the

The Threat Of Flooding Is Real AS residents of Benincity and its environs continue to count their loses, due to the heavy rains of September 23, 2013, one can imagine what it would look like if the heavy rains predicted by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) finally comes without adequate preparations to cushion the likely effect of the heavy rain, with the memories of the effect of last year’s occurrence still green. When NIMET predicted that there will be great flooding in 2012, many took it lightly and hence ignored the warning or precautionary measures that were proffered. But when the rain finally came, we were all witnesses of the monumental loss that accompanied it. So when the same agency echoed again-this year, of imminent flooding in the year. Government, Nong o v e r n m e n t a l organizations and all stakeholders have continued to warn citizens of the risk associated with living in flood prone areas and precautionary measures to take in other to avert a recurrence of last year’s incident. In Edo state, the government of comrade Adams Oshiomhole has not left any stone un-turn in making sure that her citizens are well prepared for the imminent rains. According to the governor

The good people of Edo state are hereby advised to collectively take precautions to stall for a recurrence of similar incident of flooding and its consequences in the state”. Even as concerted efforts

The citizens on their part are suppose to stop indiscriminate dumping of waste in the drains, gutters, moats and other water ways, de-silt the drains in front of their houses and remove same, relocate from low-lands, river banks and other floodprone areas of the state. This will go a long way at reducing the destructive effect of the rains. According to the governor,
of mosquitoes, flies and other disease carriers that may eventually result in high prevalence of Malaria, yellow fever, Lassa fever and Cholera “ensure to de-silt the drains in front of their houses and remove same “people living in low land, river banks and other flood prone areas of the state are advised to relocate to higher grounds” it is advisable to adhere strictly to these advise so as not to
Environment With ANTHONY AIBANGBEE be like the proverbial fly that did not heed advise and ended up following the corpse to the grave. The government we know is trying and it is believed, its ever ready to continue with the good works it has started, hence
the government, most especially at the local government level should try as much as possible to always provide vehicles for the evacuation of the silt packed out of the drainages and gutters in order not to allow it being washed back into the drains and gutters by the rains and erosion,
“Even if we are not yet affected by the menace of flooding, it is high time we know that it is now a global issue which means, it will get to you soon.” • Gov. Adams Oshiomhole
while also making laws and executing same, which bothers on environmental sanitation, and other related issues. As individuals in our environment, we should know that we have a role to play in making our environment habitable, since we are also the first casualty when disaster strikes. Even if we are not yet affected by the menace of flooding, it is high time we know that it is now a global issue which means, it will get to you soon. A close look at the heavy rain of Monday September 23, 2013 speak volume of what I am try to say, as areas such as the Government Residential Area (GRA), Textile Mill Road, Uwelu, Uwasota, Ugbowo, Ugbighoko, Evbotubu, Upper Mission, Upper Sakponba areas but to mention a few, within Benin-City and environs were enmeshed in flood with properties worth millions of naira destroyed, these are areas which were hitherto not erosion proned (2 decades ago). So as the call from government, well meaning individuals, NIMET and other stakeholders pervade the air on the threat of imminent flooding, we should not ignore this all important and life saving call, as we only stand to gain all and lose nothing if we pay a listening ear and cooperate to create a safe environment for human habitation.

God’s Redemption Programme
‘MOREOVER whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified,” Rom 8:30 NKJV Introduction THE NJKV renders Hebrews 2:11 thus; ‘For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one…... Take note of that little expression, being sanctified. The sentence structure indicates that there is a process that is on going in the believer. This process was started at some point and is currently on, not yet concluded or finished (Phil. 1:6 Eph. 4:13). We can also deduce that this process has a beginning, all intermediate phase, and an end, This study is to help us understand the full work of redemption and what God hopes to accomplish in Man when His work is completed. Fallen Man .’..For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God... Rom 3:23 NKJV. The expression glory of God means I ) The image of God in man. 2) God’s approval. 3) Fellowship with God. 4) Immortality. Through the disobedience of Adam, all mankind lost all these and was put in the position of sinners, destined for the wrath of God in the lake of fire. In the Bible, God’s work of getting fallen man back to his original state is called or described as redemption. The word redemption is formed from two words; re which means ‘back’ and ‘emere’ which means ‘to take, buy, gain, procure.’ From our study passage we are told that those He (God) called, He Justified, and those He justified. He also glorified. However, we saw from reading Hebrews 2:11, that we are sanctified, we can then say, those He called, He justified, are being sanctified to be glorified. This is God’s redemption program, the path that fallen man must follow in order to get back to his original state. Justification Through the sin of one man, Adam, we were all made sinners Rum 5:12-18 and enemies of God Col 1:21 sentenced to eternal condemnation Rum 1:18. But God, in His mercy,
devised a way for Man’s salvation, a way by which He was going to restore Man back to Himself. In other words, God decided on the premise on which Man can/ would gain acceptance or right standing before Him. To be put right with God is what we mean by justification. At this point of justification man receives 1) Pardon for his sin. 2) The sin-nature within is destroyed 3) receives eternal life within him. 3) He now has a right standing before God. 4) He now has a living hope of an inheritance in the Kingdom of God Rom. 5:1, 9, 6:6 Justification is a gift of God’s grace whereby, in legal terms, God acquits or exonerates sinners and declares them righteous. As soon as sinners turn from their sin and commit themselves in absolute trust to Jesus Christ, believing that He died for their sins on the cross, they are, as Paul puts it in Eph 1:16 KJV, ‘accepted in the Beloved’. Ref: Col. 1 :21-23. This standing of righteousness in the sight of God is only on the grounds of faith in the gospel. God puts people right through their faith in Jesus Christ. God does this to all who believe in Christ, because there is no difference at all… ‘Rom 3:22 (TEV) Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by the faith of Jesus Christ even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Gal 2:16KJV He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness by his wounds you have been healed. 1 Peter 2:24-25 NIV In our last study, we learnt those God called through the gospel of Jesus Christ, He justified, are being sanctified to be glorified. We also established that this is God’s redemption program, the path that fallen man must follow in order to get back

to his original state. Our Study text brings out two very important points concerning our salvation. Take note of the phrase ... that we might die to sin and live for righteousness… “From this statement we see that no man can live for righteousness that has not died to sin. Also that after a man dies to sin he must now live for righteousness. At the point of justification (being put right with God) the sinner dies to sin in
God’s sight. Technically, Christ’s death is reckoned as our death. Rom 6:6, 10, 11 Heb. 2:9, Gal. 2:20. The man who has been put right with God receives life within and he is freed from all sins. Rom 6:8, 8:33. “Consequently just as the result of one trespass was condemnation for all men, so also the result of one act of righteousness was justification that brings life for all men. “Rom 5:18 NIV Reconciliation (peace with
God) is the blessedness that results from haven being justified by faith in His blood. It alludes to a situation in which God and human beings, previously alienated from one another, are made one again, with the guilt and penalty of his (Man’s) sins put away forever. This implies that the strife between God and man has ended; the hostilities have ceased, and no longer are we His enemies. The Sanctifying work of
the Holy Spirit Going back to our study text, we see that after a man dies to sin (through the new birth) the next step is to live for righteousness. In other words, after receiving life through Justification Rom 5:18), what is next is to walk in that life. Rom 6:4, 6:6 KJV The word henceforth, in the English language, means from now on; from this point forward. Thus Romans 6:6 is saying that from this point (of justification) for ward we should no longer serve sin, we should now live for righteousness. This is what sanctification is about; the outward working of the new life and nature we received at the new birth. Scriptures reveal that at the new birth, the sin nature is destroyed. But in the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit it is our character, conduct or lifestyle that is the primary focus. Sanctification can be described as an inward spiritual process whereby God brings about visible holiness and change in the life of a Christian by means of the Holy Spirit through our obedience to the Word of God. Through sanctification a believers character is transformed to conform to the new life he received from Christ, Phil 1:11 (Amp) Further refs: Rom 6:21-22, Acts 26:20,2 Cor 3:18, Titus 3:1-8. In our next study, we will look at how God accomplishes this transformation in the believer and the resulting evidence of this work within us.

Motorcyclist Changes Plea During Sentencing
A motorcyclist, Kingsley Adidoju, who pleaded guilty to stabbing his colleague with a broken bottle, has changed his plea as he was about to be sentenced. Adidoju, 36, was arraigned on September 25 and
remanded in Kirikiri prison, after he pleaded guilty to the charge of assault. The Magistrate, Mr Akeem Fashola, then adjourned the case to October 4 for facts and sentencing.
However, the accused changed his plea to not guilty, saying that he earlier pleaded guilty under duress. Fashola, therefore, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000, with one surety and adjourned the case to
October17 for mention. Adidoju, who resides at No. 2, Ojekunle St., OrileAgege, is facing a one-count charge of assault. The prosecutor, Cpl. Kehinde Olatunde, submitted during the arraignment that the accused committed the offence on September 23 at Oshodi Motor Park. According to him, Adidoju
admitted stabbing the complainant, Adeniyi Fajenmisin, the treasurer of Commercial Motorcyclists Association, Oshodi Unit. “Adidoju stabbed him with a broken bottle on the head and injured him. “The accused had always criticised Fajenmisin since he was appointed treasurer— that he was incapable of
handling the association’s funds,” Olatunde said. He said the lingering crisis led to the stabbing of the treasurer by the accused. The offence, Olatunde noted, contravened Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. Section 171 provides three years imprisonment for convicted offenders.

2013 HIV/AIDS Awareness And Care Project:
T
HE world in the past three decades has been faced with the HIV/AIDS pandemic, a most devastating challenge that is threatening the fundamentals of human existence with severe consequences, especially in developing countries of Africa. In order to reduce the prevalence of this disease in Edo state, Total Group Nigeria recently invested in HIV/AIDS Awareness campaign as part of its sustainable development programmes. In this campaign, the Group invested in the awareness and prevention project, to protect the lose of communities, employees, families, organizations and the Nigerian society from this pandemic. For this year’s event, the organization brought advanced HIV/AIDS screening machine for testing, for the inhabitants and donated a comprehensive set of high tech. Screening machines to the General Hospital Ubiaja in Esan South East Local government area of the state. This, according to Engineer Koleade Adegunle, General Manager, Total Nigeria Plc who represented the Managing Directors of the up and downstreams sectors said would go a long way to ensure accessing advanced HIV/AIDS screening at low cost for the state’s residence. The Total HIV/AIDS
The TOTAL Example
awareness campaign was first lunched in Lagos in 2006. Leveraging on its extensive distribution network of over 500 stations nationwide, the campaign has now reached 17 states of the federation including Edo state. The modalities adopted in the deployment of this initiative, the company GM disclosed are in full compliance with the United Nations recommended standards which involves interaction with the communities, addressing specific issues of concern and capacity building for peer educators. These were achieved through the company’s technical partnership with Nigeria Business condition Against AIDS (NIBUCAA), the voice of the private sector response to HIV/AIDS. In consonance with international best practices, a comprehensive health care delivery approach was adopted through the inclusion of critical HIV/ AIDS – related illnesses, like Tuberculoses, Hepatitis –B and malaria into the programme. For the past two weeks, peer Educators who were presented to the public during the event held last Thursday in Benin City were trained in this regard while equipment worth millions of naira was provided and

handed over to Ubiaja General hospital to ensure maximum impact, so that it benefits those in dire-need for the support. Seeing the youths as the most important component of our future as a nation, Total Nigeria Plc then saw the need to re-dedicate itself toward equipping them with the appropriate knowledge and support they need to stay safe from or manage HIV/ AIDS. During the two weeks training programme, a total of 879 persons were tested in the free HIV/Aids screening counseling and testing in different designated centres (Total Petrol Service Stations) in the Benin metropolis. Out of this number, 655 persons were male, 224 females while 10 persons tested positive for HIV/ AIDS. The response by the general public has however shown that the awareness is there as far as voluntary counseling and testing for HIV/AIDS is concerned and hope by the next survey; Edo state prevalence rate will be much less than 5.3 percent which is the current prevalence rate, according to 2010 survey. Total Plc and their Technical Partners were able
to achieve this feat because the comrade Governor of Edo state has provided an enabling environment for public private partnership. Speaking at the ceremony, the wife of the Deputy Governor Deaconess (Mrs.)

Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, Health Minister Endurance Odubu said the training programme was not only to create awareness in the public about HIV/AIDS and related illness but very significant and the choice of illness is quite challenging at this point of our socioeconomic development; mostly when viewed from the point that Nigeria is reported to have the second largest number of persons living with HIV/AIDS, with a prevalence rate among adults 15-49years put at 0.9percent and one of the highest mother to child transmission rate. purchasing power, between countries with malaria and countries without malaria, gives a five fold difference – 1,526 dollars to 8,268 dollars, while Tuberculosis as we are all aware has been a scourge in the African continent. Against this backdrop therefore, the initiative of TOTAL group in this regard will tremendously stem the increasing rate of infection among the public. It is even more gratifying to note that this project which commenced in 2006 has so far been taken to sixteen states of the federation and
wished the company can increase the pace of implementation for total coverage of the country. Here in Edo state, the comrade Adams Oshiomole led administration has consistently put in place, strategies for the improvement of the health and welfare of the people, hence in November 2009, the state government transformed the State Action Committee on AIDS (SACA) into an Agency to co-ordinate the eighteen local government action committees. Only in June 2013, the second phase of the implementation of activities geared towards the HIV/ AIDS impact mitigation was launched and the state strategic plan for HIV/AIDs 2010-2015 was presented. While health care services are seen as essentially government’s responsibility, it must be stated that public health must be everyone’s concern, and we all need to place priority on personal safety and health. We must keep our environment clean, maintain personal hygiene and avoid those things that will endanger our health. Government Health care efforts need to be complemented by all and sundry Just as we need to appreciate TOTAL Nigeria Plc and Total E & P Nigeria Limited for the corporate initiative tagged “2013 HIV/ AIDS, Tuberculosis and malaria preventive Education project” most especially for donating a set of comprehensive hi-tech HIV/AIDS equipment to the General Hospital Ubiaja. This undoubtedly, will bring HIV/AIDS advanced screening services to the less-privileged in this community and its environs at no cost even as Edolites are also encouraged by the proposed continuity in the counseling and testing programme.
“While health care services are seen as essentially government’s responsibility, it must be stated that public health must be everyone’s concern, and we all need to place priority on personal safety and health. We must keep our environment clean, maintain personal hygiene and avoid those things that will endanger our health.”

ON October 1, 2013 Nigeria marked its 53 rd anniversary as an independent nation. The occasion which had in about four decades and half ago was usually marked with funtare has witnessed a down turn owing to misgivings among the populace over the way and manner the affairs of state had been managed or mismanaged as the case may be. To most average Nigerian there is indeed nothing to celebrate except failed promises of government living standard by government. Those who were around at the nation’s independence from the British political control in 1960 recall with nostalgia the hopes and aspirations of the citizenry who believed life would be fairer under a self government. This is so because the British colonialist overlords had been accused of exploiting their Nigeria colony as in elsewhere to the selfish enrichment of their home government and people in Britain by the Nigerian nationalists. this set of Nigerians, they had a clear idea of where they were leading the country from and where they intended to take the country. This could be seen from their adoption of a parliamentary system of government even after independence that encouraged healthy competition among the regional governments to the extent that each of the three regions were economically viable with the respective premiers galvanizing their people to propagate the local economics and in the process gainfully engaging the people in productive ventures. Both coups led to the elimination of some top politicians in government and senior military officers including Sir Almadu Bello, former premier of Northern Nigeria government and General Aguyi Ironsi, the pioneer military head of state in Nigeria. The civil war period also exacerbated the worsening intertribal suspicions and rivalry thereby dealing a debilitating blow to attempts to building the spirit of patriotism among the people. Attempts by the General Yakubu Gowon administration to weld the diverse and feuding interests through the balkanization of the existing four regions into twelve states in 1967 at the commencement of the thirty months war, analysts believe was the first major effort at creating the needed national spirit among Nigerians. General Gowon also made serious efforts in this direction when he established institutions like the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), which compulsorily cause graduates of institutions of higher learning to serve the country especially outside their states of origin for a one year period. This indeed was a novel idea to promote national integration among the diverse peoples of the country Nigeria. Despite these efforts, the spirit of patriotism is still lacking among Nigerians who merely pay lip service to it when things are well with them but are quick to recline to ethnic enclaves when they make demands on the central government. This is why there are growing sectional sentiments expressed by the various groups in the country with each alleging marginalisation in the nations scheme of things. These feelings were fueled by the enormous wealth generated for the country by the petrol dollars which the various regions scrabble to have their fair shares, thereby promoting an

The end result has been a manifest culture of laziness whereby states governments sit and wait for handouts from Abuja before they can function. Little wonder that the

how the affairs of state could be managed in an all inclusive manner as to reduce the current tension. The idea of a national dialogue should not be limited to issues of derivation and revenue sharing formula as it currently obtains in a mono economy like ours which survives mainly on crude oil sales, rather emphasis should be laid on how this enormous wealth of the nation had been managed or mismanaged by the political class who had by virtue of their privileged access to the nation’s pulse decided to keep a sizeable percentage of the funds for themselves and their chronics thereby emasculating the poor mass of Nigerians who have over the years found itself excluded from the scheme of things except that they bear the brunt of the obnoxious policies and laws enacted to keep them perpetually in states of penury. This was made possible by the fewer hands needed to work in the highly technology based oil industry. It has been observed that the general attitude among the elites is that the oil money is a free gift from nature and that the masses should be grateful because the burden of paying taxes to fund government activities and programmes has been lifted off their shoulders. This is quite evident in the manner the additional accruals to the core Niger Delta states from the 13% derivation formula have been squandered with the people not having much to show for it, except in Akwa-Ibom where the government since the days of Arch Victor Attah to the present Godswill Akpabio’s have demonstrated a commitment to do things differently through massive investment in physical infrastructures which has in no small measure galvanized the Akwa-Ibom man to develop a sense of self worth

A Chosen Vessel
THE Apostle Paul, is a great character to study. He contributed so much to the New Testament. He was the author of 13 books from Romans to Philemon; many think he also authored the book of Hebrews though we can’t be sure. Much of the book of Acts describes Paul’s life and ministry. But, he was not always a model for us. In Philippians 3:2-10, Paul describes his early life as a Pharisees in Judaism. He was totally dedicated to God and Judaism and committed to wiping out this new sect called Christians. In his mind they were heretics of the first degree. Paul, before his conversion was called Saul. The name Saul is a grand title meaning “asked for”. No doubt he was named after the great King Saul, Israel’s first King.
Saul was born in Tarsus in the region of Cilicia, and he was educated in Jerusalem in the school of Gamaliel (Acts 22:3). In Acts 5:3439 we hear from Gamaliel, Paul’s teacher, regarding the growing church. Gamaliel said, “If it is not God it will fall apart, and if it is of God we are foolish to fight it” But, after Stephen’s death, Saul turned against the Church with fierce persecution. He may have been doing it earlier, but it seems that Stephen’s sermon convinced Saul that the worship of this new Lord Jesus needed to be stopped immediately. Saul was trained like all Jewish boys in a trade. The Jews thought at that time that the mobility of manual labour and intellectual skill go hand in hand. Saul learned the art of tent making which would serve him well throughout his

IT is most unfortunate that many people erroneously believe that they will never encounter any challenge in life as long as they have Jesus as their guardian. As long we hold Jesus in high esteem as the Author and Giver of life, we must never fail to acknowledge the fact that He must always be called upon at every untoward situation that confront as. John 14:14 says ‘If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it”. Jesus is ready to answer whoever call on Him, provided the caller believes in Him and does the will of God. Beloved, even if the caller has never believed in Him, the Lord could still be merciful to grant His mercy when one decides now to humble and ask for His Mercy over the past misdeed or disobedience. 2Chrn.7:14.
It is extremely impossible for any one to experience His favour with God’s mercy. “it is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not” Lam. 3:22. It is not uncommon for anyone to experience one challenge of life. What is, however, expected of such person is to take a step out of the predicament. There is an account of “a certain woman, one of the wives of the sons of the prophets. Her problem was that her husband, a prophet of God was indebted that after his demise his creditor came to “take unto him two sons to be bondmen” (slaves). The widow had nothing else to do than to cry “unto Elisha” 2 Kings 4:1, who was also the reigning prophet at that time. He told her what to do as contained in 2 Kings 4:2-7. She never
life. Jewish education sought to produce a man who could both think and act. That should be the good of a good education today. Saul no doubt came from one of the upper levels of society in a fairly well to do family. His vernacular tongue was Greek, but because he lived in Palestine he most likely also knew Hebrew. As he zealously promotes Judaism, he zealously opposed Christianity. He was greatly feared by all the church as he
wreaked havoc on the church community men and women to prison (Acts 8:3). Saul was very happy about Stephen’s death and set out to destroy all Christians, and stamp out this movement before it went any further. Because of this persecution, the church scattered to avoid being killed. He suspected some may have escaped even to Damascus more than 200 kilometers from Jerusalem. So he set out for Damascus to “look for any of this

But as he and his traveling companions drew near Damascus. Suddenly, a light from heaven surrounded him. Saul fell to the earth and heard a voice saying, “Saul, Saul, why persecutes thou me?
“Saul’s response was, “who art thou Lord”? Saul was confused, because he thought he had been doing what God wanted. The Lord’s response to Saul’s question was, I am Jesus who thou persecute, it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks”. The resurrected, ascended Jesus had a direct encounter with one of His worst enemies. To be continued next Sunday

lack throughout, she did not only offset her debt, they lived in affluence through out the period. It is unfortunately that when there are challenges of life, some people see them as the end of life, rather as a challenge and phase of life. There is no challenge without a solution from the source of life, which is Jesus. All power in Heaven, on Earth and under the Earth belongs to Him. No power that could cause whatever challenge can contend with the power of God, if He decides to wade in when called upon. Jeremiah 33:3 says “call
unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and might things, which thou knowest not”. Beloved, it is never too late to call on the Lord to provide you with the solution to your challenges of life. He would always at the time that would glorify His name. The sorrow and grief of Martha and Mary could be abated when their brother, Lazarus who He rose from the grave after 4 days. “He is still in the business of bringing succor unto those that ask of Him, Heb 13:8, John 11:39-44 Beloved, you could be
with the deliverer and still be afflicted but when you cry to the deliverer, He immediately responds and take you off the shackles of destruction. In Mark 4:35-41, Jesus was in the same ship with the disciple, yet “there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat unto the ship”. It was a life-threatening experience that, they ran to Him, where He was relaxing, “He arose and rebuked the wind”. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. What is that storm in your life that you only need God
to solve? Never fail to put it before Him. No matter how long it has lingered. If the woman with the issue of blood could be healed after twelve years of continuous flow, and also the man born blind had his sight restored? Your case can never be too hard for God if you acknowledge Him as the only one, who has the power to restore you. Never be carried away by the thought of the devil that it is the end of the matter. When you fear God and obey His word, testimony would abound in your life. Remain blessed as you celebrate your freedom.
“There is no challenge without a solution from the source of life, which is Jesus. All power in Heaven, on Earth and under the Earth belongs to Him.”

The Danger Of Indecent Dressing
INDECENT dressing is the deliberate exposure of one’s body to the public this habit is embraced by all ages in the society but it is common among the youths. In today’s Nigeria, over exposure to foreign culture through modern day channels of mass communication, like satellite, have taken a toll on the morals of our youth especially the girls. Good dressing is good business. It will elicit respect from people around you and most importantly it will save you the hazards of being a target for rape, for most rape victims are bad dressers. Indecent dressing is a social malady that cuts across many countries of the world. The African culture places so much value on the African woman whether in the Western or African society, indecent dressing is the major cause of the various assaults and sexual harassments recorded in the society over time. There is a strong belief among some peoples that a large number of rape victims were victims because of their mode of dressings. As a result of ‘civilization”, ladies dress half naked all in the name of fashion. This social malady made our male counter parts to become sexually impatient. To the society, the risk is gradually becoming a norm. Among the females, these type of dressing include mini skirts, bumper shorts, armless tops, show back, popularly known as spaghetti tops etc. I was sitting outside my house one day when a young girl came passing by, wearing a bumper short and armless top and I heard a young guy say, you look sexy. The fact is, most young guys will be cheering such girls but will never pray to have them as a wife or sister. The consequences of this habit is glaring. It debases womanhood, speaks evil of the society which earns young girls rape. The negative consequences of indecent dressing have also been
identified to include rape, prostitution, HIV/AIDS and other venereal diseases, infections as well as armed robbery and poor academic performance. If she is a student one needs more than a gift of discernment to distinguish and differentiate prostitute from a lady provocative wears. There are some reasons why some ladies dress indecently in the society. They want to seduce men and some men only love ladies that seduce men. They dress indecently primarily to
“impress, imitate those who lack personal discipline, some ladies don’t have regard for their parents and they really don’t have privacy. They are from indecent homes at the same time they want more publicity. An adage says “Dress the way you want to be addressed”, which means that the way one dresses speaks a lot about the person. Indecent dressing is an abnormal way of dressing which shocks or offends people. That is, the act of dressing that exposes some of the vital parts of the body usually sensitive parts that should be covered. There has been a major controversy over the issue of
By FAVOUR EVBU NOSAKHARE
indecent dressing across the globe. Some see the laws against indecent dressing as the violation of human rights especially the rights of females because the issues of indecent dressing centres mostly on the female gender. Every country formulates laws that guide the smooth operation of the society, in formulating or legislating laws in any society, the difficulty has always arisen
legislating authority deliberate on issues individuals consider as private and personal?. One of such issues is the issue of dressing. There is also the possibility of law enforcement officer abusing their duty and using it as an opportunity to sexually harass women as exemplified by some universities where the
as to whether the government or legislating authority has the power to legislate on issues that should be considered within the personal or private realm of the individual. The general question here is that, can the government or
security officers go as far as physically assaulting girls whose trousers are not full length and those that wear sleeveless blouses. The law against indecent dressing has been welcomed by some and kicked against by others which have a lot of effect on
Fashion & Style the young generation. This is why so many human rights organizations and civil society groups are resisting the passage of the bill on indecent dressing. It is obvious then that to effectively stem the tide of indecent dressing, a change in the midset on the individual should be emphasized rather than coercion. The co-operation of all good intentioned Nigerians is also necessary. It is realistic that, the seeming moral laxity of the Nigerian youth is simply a reflection of the moral
bankruptcy of our various families and the society at large. Boys are not left out, many innocent boys have been arrested along with armed robbers just because of the way they are dressed. I see no reason why a child from a good home should relax
With ROSE ORHIBHABOR
his hair or keep dreadlocks, pierce his ears all in the name of fashion. And they also dress indecently when their boxers show above their trousers or there is no underwear and yet their trousers just barely hang onto their waists all in the name of sagging. Understand that when you keep your sacred parts sacred, you tell the world that you respect your self and can achieve your dreams through hard work and perseverance and not by flaunting your assets. Also remember, what makes human beings superior to other mammals in the evolution process is our sense of reasoning which must determine what the youth must put on and not fashion. How can one tackle this problem of indecent dressing without trampling on the fundamental human rights or the religion, culture of a people, etc? The issue of indecent dressing should be addressed in homes, private and faith based institutions, let us try to promote our cultural dressing and from there improve on ourselves. Youths are leaders of tomorrow, they should engage in useful endeavours to ensure a great future, if young people can use their time wisely and live purposeful lives, the future will be better. Appearance shows the manner, and can tell the kind of homes ladies come from. Why would someone in his right sense of mind do this sag pants without underwear? To end indecent dressing, parents are urged to be good models in morals to their children, give them attention and regulate their dressing, while religious leaders must preach against it.
“The negative consequences of indecent dressing have also been identified to include rape, prostitution, HIV/AIDS and other venereal diseases, infections as well as armed robbery and poor academic performance.”

8 Reasons Why Artisans Disappoint Customers
OUR society is made up of creative men and women who contributes to the development of society in one way or the other, either by training young ones. Creativity has to do with being determined to face failure and facts in order to move from one place to another, despite the success achieved. Creative men and women do not give up on their dealings rather, they are ready to achieve those set of goals. Creative people are not only the educated ones but also uneducated persons who can be creative based on the Godgiven gift for every individual which they are able to discover and know what exactly they are created to do in life. Creativity is of different kinds and the ability of the person who is engaged in the creative journey. There are cases of some parents/guardians not allowing their children/wards to go into apprentice ship instead, they complain that when their wards go into handwork, and they start making money, they will not think of going back to school. If parents/guardians keep on depriving their children of going to learn handwork, how will our society be without artisans? This is to say that, artisans are needed in every area of our society. These are the people that make up our society in one way or the other by bringing new things and maintaining the old ones. Being artisan is not for a particular gender. Artisan can be a man or woman, depending on what and where the interest of the person lies. It has to do with your ability to do something, by putting more effort and trying to devote some time to it and also being happy in whatever you are doing to sustain a living, whether small or big. According to Merrian Websters’ dictionary, artisans are workers who practice a trade or handicraft. A craft person; is also a person that produces something in limited quantities often using traditional methods. An artisan is a worker in a skilled trade especially one that involves making things by hand; he/she is a skilled manual to design new things. Artisans can be hairdressers, tailors, mechanics, furniture makers, artistes of all kinds, caterers, electricians, barbers,
By CYNTHIA UYABEME
welders etc. among these artisans, some were trained while others are gifted and they just have to start up because, whenever they do it, they derive joy. A good example of an untrained skill worker is Joan Edward, the Niger Delta Designer of the year 2011/2012 who explained in an interview with The SUNDAY OBSERVER interns of how she started from childhood by making slippers with papers, also designing clothes with her needle and threads which gives her joy whenever she is doing it. These notwithstanding, our society cannot do without artisans on a daily basis. Artisans make up the society by contributing to development and by helping to actualize the societal goals. These artisans help to create employment. The young and old in the society can be engaged in one thing or the other to reduce crime rate. It should be noted that being an artisan does not prevent an individual from being educated because, education is the bedrock of every success which is needed for knowledge and enlightenment. It has been observed generally that, most of these artisans fail their customers but the issue is that many people have not settled down to think of the reasons why they are being disappointed and how these failures can be remedied. The following are the reasons why artisans fail their customers. Electricity: Electricity generation and distribution remains the true problem of Nigeria in every sector of the economy. There is nothing that can be put in place without the use of electricity but the power sector which is responsible for the supply of electricity is not playing their own part well in the society. It is true that a country with effective power supply like Ghana attracts both local and foreign investors which will equally boost employment opportunities. The erratic power supply had crippled the business operations of artisans in Nigeria and those has made them unable to carry out their jobs effectively. Hairdressers, tailors, engineers of all kinds, barbers etc, need constant electricity to carry out their
jobs but the most painful part of it is that, they are not owing any electricity bill and still the light is not being supplied except they use generator. For instance, if a tailor was paid to make cloth for his customers who has given him/her a deadline date of collection but due to electricity failure, the tailor will not be able to weave or iron the cloth. Because of this disappointment the customer trust and confidence, will be reduced. Lack of mobilization fee: Mobilization fee is the payment made to an artisan early in the contract period prior to the delivery of any supplies or completion of any work done. This mobilization fee provides the artisan with funds to assist him/her procure items required for carrying out the job. Mobilization fee is also known as advance payment which can be half or one-third of the money charged by the worker to carry out a job. This fee is what prepares the worker for active service. For example, after price negotiation by the artisan and his/her customer, the
customer is supposed to pay some amount of money to enable the worker buy some items needed in doing the work. It is expected of a customer to pay some amount of money for his work to avoid failure and delay. Some customers give their workers job to do without paying advance (mobilization fee) and this leads to the artisans disappointing their customers. Inability of customer to pay extra money: One of the reasons why artisans fail their customer(s) is that customer will never for one day appreciate the work done by his/her tailor or mechanic by giving them some free token or additional money in order to encourage them to do better than what they have done. There is a saying that if you show appreciation to somebody, you are equally telling them to do more. Accumulation of work: Most artisans do not reject jobs given to them or informing their customers that they have lots of work to do in order for their customers to decide if they can wait till the time
given by the artisans instead, they end up accepting the works thereby, accumulating them in one place without paying attention to them. In terms of accepting more work from their customers, some artisans will like to touch the work half way and abandon them in one place till when the customers comes to collect the item which can result to quarrel between both of them and this will lead to the artisan losing this customer and other customers begins to have the same perception of the artisan not being trustworthy. Lack of understanding: Lack of understanding between artisan and customer(s) most times results to the artisans failing their customers. Lack of two way communications brings about failure or disappointment at all levels because, communication makes understanding very easy. Communication makes it easy for both the artisan and his/her customer(s) to know the right word, thing or idea to bring which will be profitable to their business. Understanding each other makes the artisan
to know the quality, quantity and time of delivery of product of services by his/her customer. No good price negotiation: Price negotiation matters a lot in a business in the sense that, the price of work to be done or work done is a payment for services rendered. The amount of money paid for a job determines the quality of service. Most of these artisans complain about some of the customers not negotiating good prices to pay, rather expecting quality job which their money can’t afford. For example, if two customers bring cloth for their tailors to sew and one of them paid more while the other did not pay good money for the cloth, the person who paid a lower price can be disappointed at all cost because, there is no way the tailor can leave the other person’s cloth to sew that of the second customer. not being competent on the Job: some persons do not have the ability to do a job properly but are engaged in the job. These persons in these jobs are not serious with their job and some individuals will just offer them a job to do and at the end, they will not do the job but, the most painful thing is that these categories of people will never apologize to their customers. Lack of time management: time management matters a lot in our everyday life because, time is money. The level of how much you can mange your time determines how much money you make. A businessman that manages his/ her time does not fail his/her customer because he tries his best to meet up with the appointed time. Artisan who do not know how to manage their time fail their customers. As artisans are important to the society at large, the government should try as much as possible to establish more vocational institutions to train them and with that, they will learn more about keeping their customers and managing their businesses. A determined person is the one who wants to know his weaknesses in order to improve on them. The most candid advice is that, individuals in the society should also try their best to encourage the artisans through some of the above mentioned reasons and with that, we can have a better society where we have hardworking artisans.

Getting Out Of The Friend Zone
A FRIEND zone is a place either a guy or lady finds themselves when they fail to impress the opposite sex whom they have romantic feelings for. In popular culture, the “friend zone” refers to a platonic relationship wherein one person wishes to enter into a romantic or sexual relationship, while the other does not. It is generally considered to be an undesirable situation by the lovelorn person. One of the many signs to know that you are in a friend zone is when they tell you that they are “considering” the relationship. Once the friend zone is established, it is said to be difficult to move beyond that point in a relationship. Now the million dollar question is, what is it that a guy or lady could possibly do that would relegate them to the friend zone? One of the many things we do that relegates us to the friend zone is misinterpretation of signals or from a fear that a deeper relationship might jeopardize the friendship. According to Gina B. of the Chicago Tribune, there are several cases where a man might drop to the friend zone: (1) the woman is not sufficiently attracted to the man, (2) the woman misinterprets nonverbal cues from the man signaling his interest in deepening the relationship, (3) there is a sexual repulsion, (but not enough to block a friendship). In a friendship between a man and a woman, being relegated to the friend zone can happen to either person. For the guys most times, it starts from trying to be just “friends” at the beginning with a bid not to “rush things”. You think you just need to be friends first and then eventually graduate to being more than friends later. But the bitter truth is that most times it turns out for the lady to be more of a brother-sister relationship or best friends with no strings attached. Marshall Fine of The
Huffington Post suggested that the friend zone is” like the penalty box of dating, when your only crime is not being buff and unobtainable”. Dating adviser Ali Binazir described the friend zone as “justfriendstan”, and wrote that it’s a “territory
only to be rivaled in inhospitability by the Western Sahara, the Atacama, and Dante’s Ninth Circle of Hell”. One man described himself as always having girlfriends who were “girls” but were only his “friends”, meaning there was no sex between them. There is a general agreement that once a man is in the friend zone, it is difficult to get out. However there was a report that suggested that a friendonly relation could change into a sexual one. It has also been suggested that women may also become victims of the “friend zone”, in which a man treats them as only a friend, while the woman prefers a more intimate relationship. Despite the pitfalls of friend zones, there have been views that a friend zone relation can evolve from “the lingering possibility of becoming

long term feeling of trustworthiness and intimacy. In trying to escape being trapped in this mysterious zone, don’t act like a friend. Don’t act like a buddy. Don’t have any fear. Don’t act like someone different. Act like yourself. If you are attracted to that person grab her hand. If you want to go out with that person again, tell them so. Act like you do with all the other people of the opposite sex. Other ways of becoming more than a
girls who find themselves in the friend zone are usually susceptible to many of the characteristics of the “nice guy” or “sweet girl” stereotype. This means pretty much someone who wants to avoid making other people uncomfortable at any cost, but does so usually at their own expense by not communicating their own needs. Where you are romantically attracted to someone, but you don’t want to “pressure” them into a relationship, or
“ruin” the friendship by expressing your interest or making a move, you’ll end up holding back in a variety of ways. This may make it seem like you have low self-worth, which is the opposite of confidence. Stop being needy: one of the reasons you might be interested in this person
more than they are interested in you is because you are giving off signals that you really want to be in a relationship. You might be coming off as a little desperate, which is quite the attraction killer. You might be rushing things emotionally and maybe physically. You might also be placing this person on a pedestal, because you are so caught up in the idea of the relationship, that you are quick to assume the person is “perfect”.
Realize you are “tying up” your feelings by staying as friends with someone who isn’t romantically interested in you: in the instance where you have already followed the previous steps and you have stepped up to the role that he or she is looking for in a relationship, but this person still wants to be “just friends”, you will need to make some hard decisions. Maybe they are simply not attracted to you, for reasons you will never know. But you still have feelings for them. Is it wise to continue spending time with them? Consider that it will be difficult to develop feelings for someone else if your feelings for this person are fueled every time you hang out. You will struggle with feelings of jealousy and frustration when that person dates someone else. Consider that even if you do manage to develop feelings for someone else, your heart might always be torn and confused, and it will be hard to give your new flame your undivided attention. Sometimes, the best thing to do is to take the friendship down to the level of acquaintance. The person might feel offended, perhaps it will seem as though you don’t value them as just a friend, but remember (and explain to them if necessary) that you can’t control how you feel, just like they can’t control how they feel, and you need to make room in your heart and life for someone who feels about you the way you feel about them.
“One of the many things we do that relegates us to the friend zone is misinterpretation of signals or from a fear that a deeper relationship might jeopardize the friendship.”

even have any idea of how to spine straw into gold. Many thought came up in her mind but did not know how to go about it. It was morning again the king went into the room to see if she had turned the straw into gold. Once again she failed him. On the third day, not knowing what to do she started crying in despair because she already knew she would die the following day and so she
continued to cry till night came she was still crying, that some body who was passing by the room were the king locked her in heard her and decided to go in to see the person crying. When he got to the door it was locked with his magical powers, he entered the room when he entered the room, he was so ugly that the girl was terribly afraid to go close to him. RELIGION
Stand Firmly For God (5) MOSES was sent by God to deliver the people of Israel out of Egypt. Even though he would have been the next Pharaoh of Egypt, he listened to God. He reckoned that to suffer scorn for the Messiah was worth far more than all the treasures of Egypt, for he kept his eyes on the future reward. (Heb 11:25-26). Today, if God send a person to lead this country, he will spend the remaining part of the tenure of his predecessor, get his own tenure and still want a second tenure. He will neglect the initial arrangement of his party that selected him into that position and change the plan in order to elongate his tenure. It is not only in Politics but in all other sectors you find that people do not like to leave position if they have tasted power. Daniel had an excellent spirit. He was prayerful and worked according to the will of God. Although the people accused him because he was faithful, he did not rescind in God’s work. He was casted into the lion’s den but God delivered him and he became friend to the lions. But they that accused Daniel were devoured by the lions when the king said they should be casted into the den. (Dan 5:1-16). Daniel believed in God hence he was saved. Endeavour to excel in your chosen field, be diligent to duty and relate to people based on the word of God. Your gift is your room and no man should take it away from you. Be the best in whatever you have chosen to do. Let your life be plain and people will see it in you. Christians need to have excellent spirit and not Unbelievers. Never think badly of anyone; not even the words or conduct gives you ground to do so. Don’t make negative criticism, If you can’t praise, say nothing. Do not complain or argue before God. You will be blameless but impure. You will be faulty and be a sinner when you complain and argue. You will now be pure when you stop complaining. (Phil 2:1415). When you don’t have, thank God for it and when you now have, give to God so that He will know that you are grateful for the thing He has done for you. Some

people are working and earning salary. They are not helping anybody. Yet they keep complaining. When a butterfly is flying and it comes across a Barrier, it will fly higher so that it can cross the Barrier. When it finishes crossing the Barrier, it will find itself in a new plane. Everybody is bound to come across Barrier in life and when we meet any form of Barrier, we should never say that is the end of life. When we cross the Barrier,
One’s wealth cannot always be measured by material gains or accumulations. A person can be rich in the things of God, rich in mind, rich in heart, rich in spirit, and still possess little material wealth. This is why you find a poor person who may not have bought drugs or seen a Doctor for many years. But the person people think is rich will be spending all his money on treatment of different ailments. Don’t make a negative confession
one have leg and no shoe. The second man has shoe but no leg. Who should cry more for help? People are healthy but they will give excuse of offering, no fine clothes for not going to church. When you don’t have them and you serve God, He will increase you. If devil hold you down, next week, he will introduce another thing e.g. food, clothes (Eph 4:27). If you move forward, God will be pleased and His glory will be seen in you. We should not allow the devil to rejoice over us. We should not
we will find ourselves in a new plane of life better than where we were coming from. You will be an example for Christ only if your character and your light measure up to what is written in the beginning of Jesus Sermon on the Mount. He said: Blessed are the poor in spirit, the merciful, and the pure in heart. In this materialistic world, people equate “poor” with a lack of money; but the possession of money alone does not make a person rich.
because of your present situation. God does not look at the past to determine your future. If you refuse to forget the past and move forward, you will make the devil to mock over you. (Phil 3:1314). Every Sunday, some people go to church but when situation comes, they will be complaining. The way Christians behave is not the way the world behaves. Jesus used parable to talk to those outside. If there are two men and
grieve or disobey the Holy Spirit. The situation you are passing through today is common to man. You are not the first and not the last. If you fall and refuse to rise, the enemy will overtake you (Exo 14:13). Your positive action will throw devil to the back. If the world can consult their god on a wooden idol, you and I that consult the living God on the altar where the answer comes from will remember the things of the past no
more. The devil will come with one thing or the other. Nothing that is happening today that has not happened before. All the things we are wearing today have reigned before and come up again. We still see them as reigning things. Only Jesus is the reigning King. Don’t bleach your skin. Make your colour shine. That is how you can glorify God. Women who wear expensive weavons are robbed of their weavons and other valuable items which are later sold to other people. Stop complaining that you are not eating the type of
food other people are eating. Some people are looking for the crumbs of your food to eat. When God forgive you, forgive yourself also. When He forgets your past, forget your past also so that it will not go forward to hinder your progress. Children of Israel could not go forward because they remembered their past that it was better. If a mother cook a delicious dish and it is not preserved, it will turn sour. Faith in Jesus has brought us

to the knowledge of God in us that He is not interested in the death of a Sinner You have gotten Christ; you have the fullness of God in your life. You don’t need extra torture of yourself. Be encouraged to have the word of God because when you have the word of God, you will not lack anything (Col 2:1-10). It is unmerited favour that we have been saved to be in faith with our good works. We have to be very careful about what we listen to. The easiest thing for people to do is to listen to what they hear and see instead of believing in the word of God. (Eph 2:4-10). We have started to see many things in this beginning of end time. Anything that will make you look frustrated, don’t believe it e.g. the way you dress. The Lord is so concerned with our faith more than what we put on or wear. When Samuel made a choice of the king of Israel among Jesse’s children, the Lord told Samuel not to look at how tall and handsome the person is but He is looking at the head. (lSamlG:6-7). Anything you put in place of God, whether your hair, clothes etc., they are of no value (Col 3:5-10). All things will come to pass if we have brotherly love for one another. Everything a person is doing, he will think it is right Boko Haram killing people in the North think they are right. A son of a king insulting his friend is telling his friend to insult the kinghis father. A man that is practicing mischief in the name of religion is telling other brethrens to doubt and insult the name of God. To preserve your faith, be like Jesus in that situation of yours. The greatest sin we can commit is to doubt the word of God. When we doubt God, we are indirectly saying that God is a Sinner, If we are still having the desire for the things in Col 3:5-10, which the Lord said we should put away, we are saying that God is a Sinner. You do not merely belong to the kingdom of God, but the kingdom of Cod belongs to you because you are HIS. Send your reaction on this message to pbol030@yahoo.com or 07055599615.

Some Common Mistakes Men Do Indulge In
RELATIONSHIP could be any form of emotions when at first its been fulfilled by a man. If we see relationship as an investment, then why would we want to invest our time, energy, emotions and even our finances where we would not reap profit? The profit here is a peaceful, happy, enduring and exciting marriage. We all know that relationship can be both exciting and tough. They begin with an awkward dating period where both persons are on their best behavior. After a few months, those curtains starts to unravel and you begin to see shadows of the real person. This is natural, but as a man, how do you make the situation work to your own advantage? The relationship is for two people but you have to do your part and avoid pitfalls that can destroy your promising relationships. Men often make a number of relationship mistakes during the crucial phases, though most men are well-meaning in their relationships, they may have some habits that can completely turn women off or make them fall out of a relationship. We have different kinds of dating advice. Some are good and others are so tremendously wrong. It is very hard to know who to believe when it comes to women, but then you have God. I hope to motivate/give reasons why relationships don’t last as a result of the mistakes men do. In the beginning you did lots of things to get your lady; and then once you’ve gotten her, you stop doing what attracted her to you in the first place. This will drive a wedge between you. Getting a woman is not like fishing when you use bait to fish and when you have caught the fish, you no longer need the bait. You can’t do that, whatever you used in the beginning to get the relationship should be maintained in order for the relationship to last for ever. Women feel cheated or deceived when after they get into relationship, you are suddenly not the deal they sign up for. Maybe you use to call her four times a day and now it has become once in two days or you use to show passion for soap opera when you are wooing her, suddenly its only about boring football talk. You now hang out more with your friends than hanging out with her. It is better that you must find out what attracted her to you in the first place, and try to continue to work on it. You buy a power bike for its speed not because it’s good to carry passengers, the moment the speed is lost, then it is no longer relevant for its use. Be Wise! Giving a woman too much power: men/guys get into trouble when they allow women to have too much of the control in the relationship. She
decides when you go out and where you go; she decides when you have sex, which friends you can keep and may even decide what clothes you wear to a party or to work. These types of scenarios are classic examples of a man believing that he doesn’t deserve to be with a certain type of woman or that he is not in position to make decisions on his own. Not being in control of the relationship is a huge sign of weakness because no woman is attracted to a weak man. Some women are very vocal and aggressive, in spite of this, she does not want you to be docile. If you are such a man/ guy, then you better work hard to retain your control. 70/30 is not a bad idea. Lack of respect: never be disrespectful to your wife or girlfriend either in public or private. Every woman deserves respect, even when they make mistakes. It was said that we are supposed to be respectful of the female entity. When you respect her, others will, because your actions on her is her worth to them. If you don’t show respect, she will be like trash in the eyes of your friends and families and that will also rob off on you. Showing her respect also include not discussing with anyone what is private between the two of you. Most men even beat their partners in public or even tear their clothes. In all, you must show caution, and try not to embark on any action you will regret later. It’s all depends on you. Choosing a woman based on appearance alone: this is one of the most dangerous mistakes, but all men know that it is difficult to look past beauty. Physical attraction is extremely important, and men sometimes forget to investigate the other critical attributes they desire in a woman. A beautiful woman is like a bulb in the darkness, everyone can see them and get attracted to them, but they are hot and can burn your hand when touched. Don’t forget about essential qualities like compassion, compatibility and intelligence. The truth is after some time you will no longer be enchanted by a woman’s beauty like the first time you saw her. If you choose her because of beauty, then by any chance she loses that beauty, your relationship is doomed. Pray when you know you are attracted to a woman mainly because of her beauty, so you maybe able to look beyond it or else, you will fall into a pit. Your relationship should never
be based on physical or finance alone but also try to find out other things about her. Taking her for granted because she loves you: this is one of the most popular mistakes men fall into. A matured man should be able to
Expecting sex to solve your relationship problems: Most men/guys are capable of doing that. Sex does not solve all problems and heal the world. It will not always be an easy bandage for a problem within a relationship. It is a distraction
her is not burdensome in anyway. Men/guys must have a busy schedule but you should also find time to spend with her. Time is part of the investment in a relationship. Relationship is liked a full time job, don’t think of applying if you are not ready because time will be involved as well. You will be loosing a lot of opportunities by not spending time with her, it might be as a result of getting to know her better or trying to resolve your relationship
handle the fact that a woman loves him. Don’t start treating her badly, disrespecting her or mocking her behind. Always appreciate and reciprocate the love, otherwise she would leave you one day when she realizes you are simply not good enough for her. For some men, it is when they lose the woman that they appreciate her very existence in their life. Treat her well even when she is making a fool of herself by calling you every seconds of the day. Love is funny. Never be unfair to her, what goes around comes around. Never cheat on her: no one forgets cheating. It is a scar that lasts for long. Even if you have confessed and you think she has forgiven you. It’s a grudge she will carry and may have revenge in her plan. Let’s call a spade a spade, cheating is adultery and it’s a no go area. One rule about cheating is she will always find out no matter how smart you are. Once she finds out, the relationship is heading for doom. Don’t count on being forgiven because not all women forgive and also pray there would not be a pay back time.
from the real issue and also, no matter how good together you are during sex, it does not heal. Communication usually works the best, talking about issues help a lot, and do not stops you from having make up sex, but sex is not the answer. When you have arguments or fights, try to resolve them amicably and talk about it especially focusing on how the same issue will not arise again. Learn to build yourself and your partner so as to be able to discuss your relationship issues without thinking of sex. Think like a matured man and not like a kid. Not spending enough time with her: women enjoy spending time with their man/ guy. They want to know that he in turn enjoys the time with them as well, she wants to know that spending time with
challenges. Even time spent laughing together is time well spent. Not making her feel special: every woman wants to feel special. If no one else in the world makes her feel like that, then her man/guy should. She does not care about that girl in the music video or film. Always let her know that out of the millions of women in the world, you have chosen her. Treat her like a baby at birth, because she deserves that. On her birthday, make extra effort to please her and make her feel wonderful. There are many ways to make her feel special, so try find out the things she likes most and always try to do them for her. Not letting her do the girl’s talk: women like to talk about their feelings, and their day,

what’s going on at work, those shoes she bought today and always like to ask where the relationship is going. They care if you listen, try to pay attention to all what she is saying even when the words seems to be odd. It helps you to know her better, don’t tell her she is talking too much because out of the abundance of the heart is what comes out of the mouth. Give her a straight answer and possibly time line if you would like to marry her. Don’t waste her time if you don’t have any intention. Are you among the play men/guys? Being too focused on sex: women know that men/guys will always want to sleep with them, but don’t rush her into sex, there would be a time for that. If you really love a girl and you are interested in forming a long-lasting relationship with her, hold off on the pressure. She will let you know when she is ready and it will probably be sooner than you think. If this girl is serious about you, then she’ll want a proper boyfriend, and not a Friday night casual sex buddy. Sex is a form of commitment; the truth is that sex is meant for married people. No lady wants to be used and dumped like a waste bin, you will be sending the wrong signal when you pressure her about sex. You need to ask yourself, what is the essence of your relationship with her? If it is merely sex, can you discuss this with her? If you get a slap, good luck my dear. Not committing the relationship to God: no matter how good your relationship is, not praying about it and praying for your partner is a grave mistake. Since both of you are mortals, anything can happen. So continuously, you need to ask for God’s guidance because there are many things that could go wrong. Ask God for wisdom, patience and other qualities you need to survive in your relationship and all these shall be granted through prayer. NOTE: you don’t owe yourself this responsibility alone, you also owe the society as well. The nucleus of the society is the family, and if you lay a good foundation and you have a great family, then you have done the society a huge favour. I wish you well in your relationship. ISSUES
Leadership can be described as a process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common goal/task. It can also be a process whereby a power is been exercised among the people of the state/nation. Although there are also other definition of leadership as it has been defined by various people. But the short definition can be illustrated as “organizing” a group of people to achieve a common goal. The leader may or may not have any formal authority. The study of leadership has produced theories involving traits, situational interaction, functions, behaviours, power, vision, values, and intelligence among others. Somebody whom people follow, somebody who guides or directs others. Leadership is not something one can become overnight. To be a strong leader, one needs to possess some certain skills. Have vision: Leaders have a clear sense of where
they want to go and how they intend to get there. They see the big picture, they create a strategic plan for achieving their goals. Learn to develop your vision: Try to read books and great leaders’ biographies, and formulate a mission statement for your vision. Befriend top business leaders in your community. Learn how to take risks: Before one can be a leader, he/she must learn how to take risk because there are challenges he/she must face. Analyze the situation, listing pros and cons for each option, and then assign each choice a risk factor rating from 1 to 5. Next determine the likelihood that each outcome will occur. This will help you determine how much risks you want to take, don’t expect perfection. No one wins all the time. Leaders grow by making mistakes. Learn how to motivate people: Explore the different needs that motivate people and recognize that the same rewards don’t motivate everyone. Leaders can
Who Is A Leader By KELVIN EBUKA AZUBUEZE
articulate their vision and ideals to others, convincing them of the value of their ideas. Always be thoughtful of how to inspire people to work towards common goals and to achieve things they never thought they could do. Leaders must also listen carefully to others, to learn what motivate them. For instance, a leader should motivate employees or students in his/her company by making sure they understand how their work contribute to a larger goal. Learn how to expand your self-knowledge:
Leaders know their own strengths and weaknesses and are able to view their behaviour objectively. Study yourself closely and practice self assessment techniques to learn how you behave and the effects you have on others. Learn to ask others of their opinion or criticism and what you can do to become a better leader. Try to learn what you did well and what you might have done better by keeping a journal of critical incidents. Help others to succeed: A good leader should learn
how to empower others and go out of their way to help them achieve their full potentials, thereby benefiting the organization. Learn how to expand your knowledge: Maintain a broad focus, look beyond your colleagues and your own industry for ideas and inspiration and read books on new management skills and ideas. Note that a wise leader looks for support staff or partner who complement their weaknesses. Learn to sharpen your decision–making skills: practice making decisions in areas where failure is not
critical to increase your confidence. If a decision turns out to be wrong, learn from it and move on. Leaders are not afraid to make difficult or unpopular decision because they have confidence in themselves and in their abilities. They know that indecision wastes resources and opportunities. Learn to be prayerful: A leader must also pray to improve in his/her leadership skills. He/she should pray for wisdom to lead very well. No matter the organization you are as a leader, don’t forget to pray for your followers. God Bless our leaders!!
“A good leader should learn how to empower others and go out of their way to help them achieve their full potentials, thereby benefiting the organization.”
My Wish For Nigeria Leaders
TODAY, I wish Nigeria is redeemed from her captivity, emancipated from the bondage of long suffering and arrested development to a new cycle of regeneration by the triumph of the spiritual over the material consciousness of Nigeria. Nigeria has existed in the past 53 years as a nation in a fragile beauty of her unrealizable potentials. Nigeria has lived in a two dimensional worlds, one controlled by conflicts and
opposition, the other showing signs of human potentialities and possibilities which has not been applied to various problems as a nation. Nigeria as a nation is just like an individual that has been going through the challenges of life as it is, suffering, loss, conflicts and defeat. Nigeria has experienced at various times in the past 53 years, periods of violence, turmoil, destruction and bloodshed, Human passion,

manifesting in the nature of hate and envy. Most Nigerians have been victims of extreme poverty, starvation, homelessness, joblessness, corruption, bribery and nepotism. Absolute power must be abolished in Nigeria because power belongs to the people. The desire for power must never outweigh the love of freedom, liberty, justice and peace.
Nigeria has being unlucky in having rulers, despite, both of civilian and military kind, who had wielded extreme power of retrogression and brutality, making the lives of the people a nightmarish experience. Many Nigerian leaders are satanic, they are, with unbridled lascivious spirit of pride and audacious impiety. There must be a new
revolutionary spirit from within Nigeria today, a revolutionary movement to proclaiming the emancipation of the people from a notorious leadership. Today, Nigeria youths must arise up against all forms of man’s inhumanity to man. They should truly re-dedicate the rest of their lives to a war against all injustice and oppression in the land. Nigerian youths can wage this war by insisting that the leadership of the nation
is driven by men and women of moral character. The youths should begin to strive for that which is immaterial rather than material since only them alone can offer them access to power. They must ensure that Nigeria leaders become enlightened men and women of goodwill, with a sense of beauty, truth and reality. That is my humble wish for Nigeria and her leaders.

Cristiano Appeals For Fan Arrested For Hug REAL Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo is appealing to Florida officials to drop charges against an over-enthusiastic fan who was arrested during a match after rushing the field to embrace him. Ronaldo, one of the world’s highest-paid athletes handled the incident calmly during a match in Miami in August, even chatting with the 19-year-old fan, and telling security officials to take it easy on him before he was carted away. The Portuguese striker is now asking prosecutors to drop charges against Ronald Gjoka, a Canadian student who faces two counts of disorderly conduct and trespassing as a result of the incident in front of 70,000 fans during an International Champions Cup match in Miami between Real Madrid and Chelsea. “I was playing at Sun Life Stadium last month when a fan entered the field,” Ronaldo wrote in a hand-signed letter sent to the prosecutor. “We hugged, and we spoke for a while, until security arrived to escort him off the field. He was not aggressive or violent in ANY way,” he went on, before explaining his concern that Gjoka could face immigration problems if the misdemeanour charges are not dismissed.

Nadal, who boosted his grand slam singles tally to 13 this year by winning the French and U.S. Opens, has not been ranked number one since July 2011 but has produced a stunning run since returning from a long injury lay-off in February. “(This is) a great year, one of the best years of my career without any doubt,” Nadal told reporters. “(It) sure is special be

What (makes) me happy is (everything) I did to be back where I am today.” He has lost two finals since his return, winning 10 tournaments and adding over $10 million (£6.2m) in prize money in 2013. The semi-final victory extended Nadal’s winning run to 21 matches and another win on Sunday will give him his first China Open title since 2005. “(It) will be a great finish (to) the season if I am able to finish the season (at) the No. 1 spot,” the Spaniard added. “For that, I am sure I need to win more matches if I want to be there.”

Mourinho Says Eto’o Off Premier League Pace SAMUEL Eto’o has yet to adjust fully to life in the Premier League with Chelsea, Blues boss Jose Mourinho said Friday. Eto’o is still looking for his first goal for the London club following his August move from Anzhi Makhachkala. The Cameroon striker, 32, is expected to lead Chelsea’s attack at Norwich this weekend in place of Fernando Torres, set to be sidelined for three weeks with a knee ligament injury. If Eto’o is involved from the kick-off at Carrow Road on Sunday, it will be his third league start and his fifth appearance for Chelsea in all competitions Mourinho, speaking to reporters at London club Chelsea’s Cobham training ground on Friday, said the forward had lost sharpness as a result of playing in Russia. “The player I know, the professional I know...what
happened in Russia in last two-and-a-half years I didn’t know,” added the Portuguese who had Eto’o in his Inter Milan side that won the 2010 Champions League. “Normally when top player is one of the top players in Europe and then goes to Anzhi the pressure goes down, the motivation and physical condition and sharpness goes down. “Now he’s back in top European football and needs a bit of time to find that sharpness. He’s playing a lot. He played 80 minutes this week and he is getting his form and an understanding of where he is. “But the Premier League is a different picture. So give him a little bit of time.” Mourinho said Eto?o had to adapt his game in order to keep playing at the highest level. “Players transform

The Belgium international has been linked with a January return to Werder Bremen where he spent two successful spells on loan but Mourinho is adamant the midfielder will remain at Stamford Bridge. De Bruyne’s absence from the Chelsea line-up has not prevented him being called up by Belgium for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers. And Mourinho said: “He is an important player for them. Normally national teams don’t have as many options as big clubs have.

Ibrahimovic Gun Gesture PARIS Saint-Germain striker Probed
Matri Eyes Milan Return For Pirlo
AC Milan striker Alessandro Matri admits he would love to see Andrea Pirlo return to the club should he choose to leave Juventus. The veteran playmaker ’s current deal with the Serie A champions expires at the end of the season, and the club have already confirmed they will not hold talks until the early part of next year. With speculation over his future in Turin continuing, Matri has claimed he would relish the chance to be reunited with the 34-year-old at San Siro, after he moved from Juventus during the summer. “It would be great to see Andrea here with us,” he told Tuttosport, before adding on the meeting between the sides this weekend: “I have no desire for revenge, only the desire to do well with Milan.” Juventus were held to a 2-2 draw with Galatasaray to leave their chances of reaching the Champions League knock-out rounds in doubt, but defender Giorgio Chiellini has played down talk of the result being a “disaster”. “People often go from one extreme to another,” he told reporters at a sponsor event. “We were irrepressible, then in crisis, then unstoppable again. “Too often the verdict is linked to the result. If we had beaten Galatasaray 2-1 people would have spoken about a ‘Super Juve’, if we had drawn 1-1 it would have been ‘Juve show great heart’ and instead, at 2-2, it’s now all about a ‘Juve disaster’. I think balance is required in every case. “We certainly need to improve and work hard, but I think our run so far has been more than decent. Now we’ve got an important test against Milan ahead of us and it will enable us to work out the team’s current condition. “They’re an excellent side and the collective without [Mario] Balotelli will give their all. We witnessed this two years ago when we faced them without [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic. When these stars are missing the others often step up to the plate. “They’ve certainly got a squad capable of challenging for the Scudetto and Champions League places. Let’s not forget they also started slowly last year. Then after Balotelli’s arrival in January they started dreaming of a revival that was only foiled by our fantastic run of form in spring.” Chiellini alo discussed the form of former team-mate Matri, insisting the striker does not get the credit he deserves for us allround performances despite having failed to score for Milan this season.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic will appear before a French league disciplinary commission later this month after he mimicked pointing a gun at the Toulouse bench in last weekend’s 2-0 victory. The French football authorities are investigating after Ibrahimovic, 32, made the gesture as he was substituted midway through the second half following an altercation with Toulouse defender Abel Aguilar. Eurosport, citing sources at Toulouse, suggested it had been aimed at defender Jonathan Zebina. The Toulouse substitute and Ibrahimovic had been teammates at Juventus, where they made headlines for a clash at

FIFA Set Seeding Parameters
FIFA says the top seeds in the 2014 World Cup groups will be host Brazil and the seven best-ranked teams in the October standings. AP Photo/Victor R. Caivano Brazil and the seven best-ranked teams will be the top seeds at the 2014 World Cup. Friday’s decision by FIFA’s executive committee means Belgium and Colombia — which did not qualify for the 2010 World Cup — are almost assured of being seeded in the Dec. 6 draw. It also means that England are set to drop out of the seeds for this tournament. The current top seven teams are Spain, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Colombia, Belgium and Uruguay. Brazil is ranked No. 8. The other draw pots will be determined by “geographic and sports criteria.” FIFA originally planned to
agree on a seeding method just before the draw in Salvador de Bahia. But it has opted for a simple reference to its world rankings rather than also weigh teams’ performances at previous World Cups. The next rankings are published on October 17. As for construction progress in Brazil, The stadium that will host the World Cup opener in Sao Paulo just had goalposts installed. Organizers in the city of Cuiaba are still trying to find a supplier for the seats for their venue. With less than three months to go before the December deadline established by FIFA for the delivery of the 12 World Cup stadiums, Brazil is working to have all venues ready in time. Local organizers say they’ll meet it, but some recent setbacks have prompted concern.
Of the six stadiums yet to be delivered, five were less than 90 percent completed by September, according to the most recent government numbers. The other six venues were ready before this year’s Confederations Cup — just barely.
they will do so.” Blatter also announced the first step in a process which could lead to the 2022 World Cup moving to the winter and stressed there is no threat to the Middle East country losing the tournament. FIFA has agreed to begin a consultation process and no decision on dates will be made until the end of next year - and perhaps not until 2015. A working group will look at all the impacts of moving the tournament from June/ July due to the extreme heat in the Gulf at that time of year. Jerome Valcke, the FIFA general secretary, will head the group and it is expected Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore will be asked to take part.
training. On Thursday, Toulouse manager Alain Casanova said: “They’re not gestures that I like or appreciate on a football pitch. “Afterwards, it’s difficult to explain to children that you shouldn’t do these kind of things. I’m convinced that, seeing these images again, even he must regret this gesture.” The French football authorities will also gather evidence about the incident from Toulouse, the assistant referee and the fourth official. In his latest book, Ibrahimovic wrote that he had hit Zebina after being on the end of a robust tackle. But the French defender told RMC: “Maybe he needed publicity for his book. He sold lots of them, and that’s good for him. “It’s better to say ‘I caught him with a good right and he fell to the ground’ than ‘my fingernail brushed his eye’.” Meanwhile, former Marseille, AC Milan and Bayern Munich striker Jean-Pierre Papin has said he believes Ibrahimovic has changed his style since the arrival of Napoli attacker Edinson Cavani at PSG. “He’s adapted,” he told Le Parisien. “With the presence of Cavani in particular, he’s playing more like a playmaker — and it’s a position that suits him very well.”

Allardyce Endorses Hammers Ban Warning WEST Ham’s manager Sam Allardyce has backed the club’s warning that fans who indulged in abusive chanting during Sunday’s London derby against Tottenham Hotspur will be banned. This weekend’s match will be the Hammers’ first trip to White Hart Lane since a small group of supporters embarrassed the east London club in November last year. Just four days after a Spurs fan was stabbed in an apparent antiSemitic attack in Rome, a group of West Ham fans chanted “Viva Lazio” and “Can we stab you every week?” while some hissed, mimicking the gassing of Jews in Nazi death camps. Allardyce, speaking at his prematch press conference on Friday, said: “The club has made a statement so you will suffer the consequences if you do anything like that. “If they do it, I think that’s very important that they are identified and they suffer the consequences. “We live in this society today so if you’re made aware of what’s acceptable and what’s not you’ve got to be very, very careful about what you choose to chant. “If you’re made aware of it and it happens you don’t have any excuse. “My message to the fans would be: support the lads on the field and forget about everything else.” Friday’s statement from West Ham said: “Any fan found to be acting inappropriately including racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic behaviour - will be punished to the full extent of the law and banned from attending matches. “Any such behaviour is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated by West Ham United.

2022 W/Cup:
MANCHESTER United’s manager David Moyes has insisted he has no problems with the idea of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar being played in the European winter, even though this would cut across the Premier League season. have to move,” said Moyes. “But I’m sure the Premier League are already working on that and thinking about it but it does look as if it (the World Cup) will have to be changed. “If it was played in the month of January it could be the equivalent of having a winter break (something that doesn’t currently exist in English football but which is common in other major European league) so if they took that month out it would extend things and there would be lots of different add-ons. “It’s the World Cup — it will
have to be played and the people in power will try to make the right decisions.” The Scot added changes to the League Cup, long regarded by leading clubs as the least important of England’s three major domestic competitions behind the Premier League and FA Cup, might be needed in order to accommodate a winter World Cup. “I think there would be no choice that it would have to move,” said Moyes. “Maybe you’ll need to get rid of FA Cup replays and limit the League Cup, maybe something along those lines.”
Dawson Signs New Spurs Deal TOTTENHAM’s captain Michael Dawson has penned a new three-year deal at White Hart Lane, the Premier League clubs have announced. The 29-year-old defender, who has been at the club since January 2005, has now extended his stay until 2016.
CHELSEA’s manager Jose Mourinho admitted his sides are not yet “strong enough” to take a stranglehold on the Premier League. The Stamford Bridge outfit sit in fifth position on the table, just outside the Champions League spots, and are four points adrift of leaders Arsenal. Meanwhile, Chelsea sit only third in Group E of the Champions League after opening the account on the continent with a just one victory from two games. And Mourinho fears any more dropped points could prove fatal to his young side and their attempts to claim silverware this
Dawson made the move to Spurs from Nottingham Forest and has since established himself as a vital cog at the heart of the defence, making 293 career appearances to date and scoring 10 goals. He was a member of the squad
which secured a first-ever topfour finish in the Premier League in 2009/10, with Spurs then going on to reach the last eight of the Champions League the following season. Yorkshire-born Dawson has also been capped four times by England.
Aaron Ramsey and the clubrecord £43million signing of Mesut Ozil. “I told you Jack is an important player for the squad, and he will play, but there is competition for places of course. On one side, people want you to have good players, on the other, that means you cannot give any guarantee to anybody,” said Wenger, who revealed full-back Bacary Sagna was set for around three weeks on the sidelines because of a hamstring problem. “Higher up, he is less comfortable at the moment. He does not like to be back to goal, he likes to face the game. Why?
Because he has a burst to pass people with the ball at his feet. “From deep he does that very well, he creates the openings for that little burst to run with the ball. He is a physically strong boy he has a good body. He can win the challenge and make the difference and open the game up. “He is getting it (his burst) back. I think to play on the flanks helps him to find that back, because on the flanks you have to do a lot of that.” England manager Roy Hodgson has again called Wilshere into his squad for the crucial World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and Poland.
Pellegrini Gave Me Freedom - Nasria
SAMIR Nasri has thanked Manuel Pellegrini for showering him with affection and giving him confidence. The France international had a difficult relationship with the former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, whose policy of criticising his players in public was not popular with them. Mancini once said he wanted to punch Nasri for his poor performances last season, and the former Arsenal midfielder believes it is no coincidence his form has improved under Pellegrini. He said: “I am more confident with this manager. He has given me a lot of freedom, I’m a guy who likes to have affection with the manager. I like a manager who likes to talk about what’s good and what’s wrong.” Nasri scored one goal and played a part in three more when City beat Manchester United 4-1 and while he admitted he was disappointed with his performance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, he is optimistic he can deliver again
when Everton visit the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. He added: “I think I’m getting back to my best form — apart from Wednesday. But I will look to put that right on Saturday, you cannot be good every day, except if your name is [Lionel] Messi. Mine isn’t — so I can have bad games.”

season. “We need to be more consistent,” Mourinho said. “If you see the position of Chelsea in the last leagues and the difference of points from Chelsea to the champions, you can imagine that even with a magic click - that I don’t have it’s not easy to recover 20 points. It’s more than one click. “For a club like us it’s not good to be 15, 20 points behind. “I don’t think we are strong enough at this moment to have that kind of run of victory, victory, victory. “We will, for sure, we will. In this moment I don’t think we are.” And Mourinho believes the club needs to rediscover the winning culture that made his first spell at the club such a success before they can again dominate in all competitions. “I had a team of players in the best moment, potentially, of their career,” Mourinho said of his first spell as boss. “I needed a click to make them believe. At this moment in terms of building a team, the task is different. “We need to win seven matches 1-0, not win one match 7-0 and lose the other six, or lose points. “This is the kind of mentality that you have to build. And it’s much more difficult. “I keep saying the day I lose a match and go home with a smile on my face, goodbye. Finished. “We know we cannot win every game. We know we cannot win every competition, but we have to play every game of every competition to win. “If you do that and you lose, don’t go (home) with a smile on your face, but you’ll sleep fine. Because you’ll know you had the right approach, you gave everything. “The opponent won because the opponent was better than you and that is something you have to accept without being a drama. The right mentality we have to find.”
