rowing up with a houseful of siblings (including an identical twin brother) in Wisconsin taught Troy Nehls a bunch about working things out. His late father, Edwin Nehls, served as a county sheriff in Wisconsin. Troy’s older brother, Todd Nehls, is in his third term as the elected Sheriff in Dodge County, Wisconsin. Troy’s twin, Trever Nehls, an 18-year employee of the Sugar Land Police Department, is seeking the Republican nomination for the Precinct Four Constable’s office. Troy says, “My brother, Terry’s been living here for years. Trever and I used to visit, and I knew this was where I wanted to settle down and raise my family. We love living close to Terry, Trever, and their families. Knowing our kids will grow up together, involved in this community means the world to me. My wife, Jill, and my step-daughters Jenna and Cambry love Fort Bend as much as I do!” Before moving here to Texas permanently, Troy served in the military. He says, “I think it’s an excellent choice for any young person who’s not sure which path to take in life. I started at the bottom as an E1 Private in basic training. I became squad leader, and was proud to be one of the three men from my unit to be promoted to E2. That’s still just one step up from the bottom! I kept working and learning...and it paid off!” Troy retired as a Major in the Army Reserve, after twenty-one years of service that included overseas combat assignments in Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. During that time, he earned several awards, including two Bronze Stars. During Troy’s assignment as Deputy Commander of a Provincial Reconstruction Team in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, he suffered a loss he carries with him today. On May 20, 2008, a patrol team under Nehls’ command came under attack, and two Lieutenants, Jeffery DePrimo and Jeffery Ammon, were killed in the line of duty. Nehls

Tired Legs? Get More Pep in Your Step Dominique Brooks onica Arellano didn’t like the way her legs looked. Here she was – a slender woman -- with unsightly swollen leg veins – which made her unwilling to wear shorts even in the Texas heat. She has three children with a very demanding schedule and also got tired a lot – especially when standing and had no idea that the lack of energy was related to her veins. Her primary care provider referred her to Dr. Baltazar, a board-certified surgeon with a special certification in vascular surgery, for evaluation and treatment of varicose veins. When Monica first arrived at the office, she did not know what to expect. “I was unsure when I first went in, but after speaking with the doctor, and learning that the symptoms I had were more than cosmetic, I felt confident that he knew what he was doing,” she notes. During the examination, Dr. Baltazar discovered that besides having varicose
M
veins, Monica also had venous insufficiency. That scared her and she was really grateful for Dr. Baltazar’s expertise. She quickly scheduled the procedure. To her delight, by the two week follow-up appointment, Monica could really tell a difference in the appearance of her legs – the veins were now flat! She also became aware of the noticeable difference in her endurance to stay afoot. There were no words for her excitement. Dr. Baltazar also referred her to a dermatologist to treat the smaller spider veins on her legs. Imagine her pleasure when this doctor commented that Dr. Baltazar was a great surgeon and that Monica’s results were fabulous. She knew she had made the right decision! Monica is one of the many people who have medically benefited from the treatment of their varicose veins. Dr. Baltazar emphasizes that varicose veins are more than a cosmetic problem. “These can be a vascular health problem. Treating them can improve the look of your legs...and your vascular health!” It’s been more than a year and Monica is still thrilled by the changes in her life. “I have no issues wearing shorts or skirts of any length!” she says. “All I can say is that Dr. Baltazar is very good at what he does. I don’t think I could have gone to anyone better!” Call today for your consultation. T
ired of trying and failing to get the body of your dreams? One fortynine-year-old woman says she has new body like a twenty-year-old...thanks to the amazing work of double boardcertified plastic surgeon, Dr. Ahmadi. She writes: Dr. Ahmadi’s Lipotuck™ procedure has made my dreams come true! For most of my life, I have always had a small frame (5’4; 128lbs; size 9/10) and loved to dance as well as choreograph dance numbers. I maintained this size, until age 34, when I had my third child and obtained a job which required me to travel around the world. This travel entailed late night dinners, wine, desserts, and a hectic schedule. Over the fifteen years of traveling and raising my children, I went from a size

9/10 to a size 16/18. I tried hard to lose weight and get in shape by going to a diet doctor, and trying diets like the Atkins Diet, the Hollywood Diet, Weight Watchers, South Beach diet, Jenny Craig...and on and on. I joined a gym and hired a trainer. My weight did not change very much at all. I even had a Lap-Band procedure done. I lost ten lbs... and that was it. I had two adjustments by the Lap Band surgeon and I still didn’t lose any inches or lbs. Finally, I saw Dr. Ahmadi’s article in a local magazine...the before and after pictures were amazing! I was so impressed with his skills, education, and talent and I couldn’t believe that he was located right here in Sugar Land! It was a miracle to me, the answer to my prayers! After the Lipotuck™ surgery, I am already in a size 12 and it has only been two and a half weeks! I can fit into all of the clothes that I haven’t been able to wear in ten years! WOW! I am showing people my new body and they cannot believe the results! Dr. Ahmadi, this is the happiest time of my life! I thank God that he put this man in my path of life! He has so much confidence in how he redesigns your body. Thank you again Dr. Ahmadi and staff! May God continue to bless your mind, hands, and spirit as you continue to change the lives of others in your lifetime!

Just Because You Can Doesn’t Mean You Should! so shipping delays can cost you more than time...they can compromise your health. Worst of all, ordering online means you and your doctor don’t have a personal relationship with your pharmacist. You don’t know what conditions your medication is being compounded in. And if you have questions, you won’t get the kind of informative answers and open discussion you’ll find a local pharmacy like Campbell’s Compounding Pharmacy. Dr. Campbell says, “I have a passion for listening to patients and working with doctors to tailor your medication to your personal situation. That’s not something you can do online.” Good things come in threes, especially the triad of compounding. What’s that? It’s the faceto-face collaboration between a patient, a doctor, and a compounding pharmacist that makes compounding medication legal. Dr. Campbell says, “Without that personal component, your doctor can’t be sure of the safety of the medication you’re getting...and neither can you. That face-to-face relationship ensures that there’s accurate, clear communication between you, your doctor, and your pharmacist. Better communication means less chance of mistakes and better safety.”

hat’s a good rule in life, and it’s something to remember when you choose medication. Your vet is licensed and trained to perform surgery on animals, but (barring a zombie apocalypse) you probably don’t want him to do your appendectomy. Just because a pharmacist technically knows how to compound medication doesn’t make them the best choice for you. Dr. Lance Campbell, Pharm. Compounding is more than my profession...it’s my passion!” Ordering online isn’t the best choice for your compounded medication.Compounded medication online may not be patient specific, so you won’t be getting all the benefits of a medication tailor-made for you. o you know a car and driver with so much in common...they actually look alike? Anyone who knows Oscar Gonzales, owner of Continental Cleaners, knows his black and white 1970 Chevelle. There’s no doubt that car’s a Classic! Oscar says, “My first car was a Chevelle, and I just love this one. It’s even got a black engine for it that I found from the guys at Classic Chevy!” “I’ve been into cars since I was fifteen. My dad taught me how to fix them up. They’re fun to work with and doing it keeps youth in your blood. I started off as a mechanic by trade, before I opened Continental Cleaners. Continental Cleaners has been here for seventeen years, since January 1995, and we’ve really seen Sugar Land grow. I love owning my own business. It’s a real opportunity to get to know the community and also have time to spend with my three sons. They’re twelve, fifteen, and eighteen-years-old, attend Dulles Middle & Dulles High School, and are all really active in sports, so if you don’t see me at Continental Cleaners
or talking cars at Classic Chevy, I’m probably on the sidelines of one of their games.” “When that other dealership went under, I didn’t think we’d ever get another Chevy Dealer here. When Classic Chevrolet opened up, I bought parts from them and I had a good experience...so I kept coming back. One day Don Kerstetter, owner of Classic Chevrolet, came into the cleaners to pick up some clothes and we got to talking. He’d just moved to the area and was interested in getting to know other local business owners. He’s a great guy, really committed to doing the right thing.” “Since then, I’ve met ever yone in the Used Car part of Classic Chevy. Jerr y Dixon’s my main guy. He’s seriously old-school and really knows what he’s doing. I’ve also had a lot of good conversations with Stuart.I sold them one of my vehicles and also brought in some of my relatives from Del Rio and San Antonio. I’ve even sent in three of my employ-

The Biggest Event of My Life: Vanessa’s Story: “Over the years,
I’d been from Ob to Ob because I couldn’t have a regular cycle on my own, but no one could solve the problem. So when my husband and I decided to start a family, we came to Dr. Chauhan. After talking to me and running all the tests, he knew exactly what was going on!” “Dr. Chauhan said I showed some symptoms of PCOS, but the main issue was my brain not communicating with my ovaries. He recommended we start with the easiest possible solution, Clomid. When that didn’t work he gave us a choice between gonadotropins and IUI or IVF. He explained the success rate for each and we decided to go straight to IVF. We had a good egg retrieval and ended up with six embryos.” “After the first transfer we found out it hadn’t worked. Everything up to that point

had gone so well, that we were just devastated. I wondered if I would ever be able to have a family, but Dr. Chauhan explained that sometimes the body just knows something’s not right. He reassured us that we’d work through this. He was so empathic and understanding, that I believed him and trusted his experience.” “So we decided to jump right into the next frozen cycle. It was a lot easier the second time. The next two embryos thawed perfectly, Dr. Chauhan transferred them, and four weeks later a blood test confirmed that I was pregnant. After that I had more ultrasounds to make sure everything looked good ... and finally Dr. Chauhan helped me find an Ob in Katy who’s just as great as he is.” “Throughout the process, Dr. Chauhan and his nurses were wonderful, like friends or family. They were so compassionate and always there for me. Whenever I was worried about anything, I’d email Dr. Chauhan and he’d email or text right back. When my nurse, Chris, hugged me and told us we were pregnant, it was amazing! I know it’s their job, but it was the biggest thing that had happened in my life and they never forgot that for a minute. I completely trust Dr Chauhan and his team...and they made our dreams of a family come true!”

She says, “I ended up with a wonderful oral surgeon, who did a dental CT scan and biopsies and found the infection. Eventually, I started to get relief, but I couldn’t get a permanent solution since I might need more CT scans. I had lost hope by the time I came to Dr. Lomonte’s office." “I told Dr. Lomonte everything and he said ‘Let’s see what we can do for you.’ He started with minor gum treatments and cleaning...then after some research and a chat with my oral surgeon, he said, ‘Let’s do some partials.’ Not only was it great news, it was also really fast...just three sessions start to finish! He did the impression, next thing you know I was trying them on! I hadn’t seen teeth on my bottom jaw in over a year. Dr. Lomonte was my miracle!” “When I saw myself, I was so happy! He had matched my teeth perfectly. Also, I have always had a gap between my top front teeth. Dr. Lomonte asked if I wanted it filled in, but I told him all my friends said that was my signature. He laughed...he’s just so easy to talk to! Everyone at his office makes you feel so welcome, like one of their own.” “I was so happy to go back to work again. I’m only fortyeight and I had been covering my mouth with my hand whenever I smiled. Those missing teeth had made me so
self-conscious. All my friends at work say ‘It’s great to really see you smile again!’ My friends at work held a fundraiser to help out with my medical bills and Dr. Lomonte’s office offers lots of payment plans to keep it simple. They really work with you!” “Whenever anyone asks, I tell them I highly recommend Dr. Lomonte. He’s got a great ‘chairside’ manner...and when I saw my new smile for the first time, I was shaking like I had won the lotto! I told him right then, ‘You’re my lifesaver, Dr. Lomonte!’” Thomas M. One Center With Solutions for Every Student
Sarah Warburton here are as many different ways to learn as there are different kinds of kids. Betsy de Vega, a Learning Specialist with over twenty years of experience founded the Kn.I.L.E. Center, home of KnILE Prep Academy (KPA) and EduCoachNow to be the one place to find educational resources for every student. She says, “Through our after-school educational coaching, our private school, our screenings, and our SAT and college-prep workshops, we offer the kind of flexible, effective support every student needs to succeed!” Some students work quickly and get bored in a traditional classroom, others need extra help. In KPA’s relaxed atmosphere, each child works at his own pace through a challenging, technologyenhanced curriculum customized for optimal learning. Betsy says, “We are a 4th−12th grade private school with both an accelerated and an accommodated curriculum. Our low ratios and flexible environment allow us to tailor the curriculum to your child. We’re currently accepting enrollment for the 2012 school year...but space is limited.

Call to schedule your tour today and lock in this year’s tuition if you enroll by May 15th.” Imagine trying to read if the words seemed blurry or kept moving off the page. As a certified Irlen Syndrome screener, Betsy says, “If your child suffers with attention, comprehension, headaches, and light sensitivity, Irlen Syndrome might be to blame. Irlen Syndrome isn’t a visual disorder, it’s a visual perception problem in the brain. Kids with Irlen Syndrome are sensitive to fluorescent lights (the kind used in most public schools). The fix is relatively simple...colored overlays or glasses. Call the Kn.I.L.E. Center to schedule your screening.” Don’t let summer set your child back. Reserve your summer session today and help your child hold onto those school-smarts all summer and start the next year strong! After school, over vacation, or all year long, students (and parents!) find the support and resources they need at the Kn.I.L.E. Center. Always Looking Out for You
Sarah Warburton o you know all about the itchy agony of dry eyes? When a DIY approach of over-the-counter drops isn’t working, you need professional help...from an expert like Dr. Anh Doan of Missouri City’s Vision Source. Eight years ago, Lauren Nguyen first came to Dr. Doan for an eye exam and new glasses...but she ended up needing help with so much more! She says, “When I was in college, I was careless with my contact lenses, sleeping in them, not cleaning them properly. I don’t know if that’s the reason, but I suffer from terrible dry eyes now. Regular over the counter drops didn’t work, night-time eye ointments didn’t work. First Dr. Doan prescribed Restasis drops, but after a few years they stopped working. She has a machine that can measure the number of seconds after a blink before my eyes dry out. A normal eye is 8-10 seconds, mine was 3-4 and Restasis brought me to 5 seconds.” “Dr. Doan never stopped looking for better solutions. We tried punctal plugs that plug your tear ducts to let tears build up in your eye, but they didn’t fit me well. Then she suggested dissolvable punctal plugs...and they make such a big difference! I get new ones put in every five months and a day
D
or so after they dissolve, I call up for an immediate appointment.” “I know Dr. Doan really cares about finding solutions for every situation. I was voted “Sweetheart” for the upcoming ball of my women’s organization. Dr. Doan fitted me with special contacts for the photos, helped me build up my tolerance, and called the following Monday to check in. I felt beautiful at the ball wearing contacts with my tiara and flowers.” “Since I can’t wear contact lenses comfortably anymore, I was considering LASIK. Dr. Doan gently explained that Lasik can make eyes drier...and that would be agony for me. She called me after an optometric conference to say they’re working on developing a new form of Lasik that’s better for people with dry eyes. She told me she thought of me immediately, and it felt good to know she’s looking out for me.” Missouri City Vision Source Dr. Anh Doan, O.D. ayada and Thomas Coleman have two sets of twin daughters, so the challenges of finding just the right school are doubled! “When my oldest daughters were in elementary school,” says Mayada, “we wanted a school that emphasized learning and encouraged parent participation. Driving past the sign for the International Preparatory School (IPS) on Dulles, I spontaneously stopped for a tour. The Owner/Administrator Susan McMahon took me around and introduced me to several teachers. IPS has a welcoming environment with a family feel. Sue’s ability to manage the school, her patience with the kids, and the time she puts into them is amazing....she loves those children like they’re her own and she’ll do anything to give them the best.” “At IPS, they challenge every child like a GT student. The education and discipline my oldest girls received at IPS gave them the tools to excel. This year as a ninthgrader at Ridgepoint High my daughter, Tamara, (inspired by her seventh-grade history teacher at IPS) did a presentation on the Bolshevik Revolution for the FBISD History
Day Competition. She won first place in her school, first place for the district, and now she’s going onto state. Her sister Rachel mastered so many concepts in her algebra class that her teacher’s running out of places to record them...it’s unbelievable!” “IPS recognizes each child’s individual talents and fosters their interests. When we
first came to IPS, my youngest two weren’t in school, but I wanted a preschool that would challenge them and get them learning interactively. They’ve thrived at IPS since they started in the pre-K program... and now they’re in the third-grade! Noor looks forward all year to the Christmas play. Mr. Robinson really gets the best out of her on stage...and she’s doing well academically, too. Zeena has A’s beyond A’s and is really mastering all her classes.” “At IPS, the older kids are encouraged to look out for the younger ones...and the younger ones really look up to the older ones. They’re learning to be good students... and good people, too!” Call for more information about International Preparatory School’s summer programs or registration for the 2012-2013 school year. From the Sawmills of Mississippi to the Streets of Sugar Land Becca Bragg immy Simpson’s been working with trees since he was just seven years old! “I started hauling pug wood with my daddy,” he says. “When somebody wanted ten acres cleared we’d go in, take down the pine trees and haul them to the mill for paper or lumber.” Then when he was only ten, Jimmy lost several fingers in a close encounter with a saw. Fortunately, a skilled doctor successfully sewed them back...and Jimmy went on to play defensive back for Jackson State. His teammate, Walter Payton, aka “Sweetness,” called Jimmy, the “Undertaker.” Now Jimmy and his skilled team are taking out the dead wood all over Fort Bend! Growing up as one of nine kids taught Jimmy how to work with a team. His wife Cammie says, “Two of our team members have been cutting for us for fifteen years each, another three or four for eight to ten years each. They use safety equipment and ropes and harnesses to get up into the trees and rope the trimmed branches down to the guys on the ground. They take care to protect your property and give you peace of mind!” Thanks to April showers the same branches that were bare a month ago could be ruining your roof today. Don’t freak out...but did you know that rats, possums, and squirrels could be getting into your attic from those same overgrown branches? Or that bats, rats, and snakes could

be living in the dead parts of your palm trees? Remember to get your trees trimmed on a regular basis. For over fifteen years Jimmy and Cammy Simpson of Simpson’s Tree Service have been trimming back branches and removing trees all over Fort Bend. One loyal customer writes: “I have known and been doing business with Jimmy Simpson for 10+ years. He has the same guys working for him each year. They are friendly and VERY competent. They get in, go to work, do an excellent job and clean up very well. I feel Jimmy’s prices are better than most anyone else. I am very satisfied with Simpson’s Tree Service & would recommend them to anyone that I know.” For trimming, cutting, and removal services, call 281-980-0095 www.simpsonstreeservice.com

hen your home needs a lift, nothing does the trick like new flooring. And for floor-
ing and service guaranteed to floor you every time, Fort Bend turns to Bob, Renee, and Shaun McKelvey at All About Carpet and Floors. A glowing recommendation from Ann’s daughter brought Mar y Ashmore and Ann Caraway to the All About Carpet showroom. Ann says, “They did a job for my daughter in Riverstone, a bedroom. There was already wood flooring in the house and they were able to match it very closely. She was so pleased! That’s when we decided to look into getting flooring for this house.” “We talked to Bob and Shaun and fell in love with the Tigerwood floor-
ing. We had three bathrooms re-tiled and one living room and one dining room with the Tigerwood. We’d had carpet to start with and pets, so it was time to get rid of it...and we’re glad we did!” Mary adds, “They had so many samples in the showroom! You could put the wood samples by the tile samples and see the way the floors would flow. Bob let us take a sample of the Tigerwood home, so we could see how it looked with the furniture. They really go out of their way to help you and make sure you’re happy.” Ann says, “They told us upfront what the cost would be, how they would install it, how long it would take, and all the information we needed. They were reputable, competent, and accommodating. Shaun promised we wouldn’t end up with any extra expenses, hidden costs, or unpleasant surprises, and we really appreciated that. They’re just the nicest people!” When you want good work done, ask good people for a recommendation...that’s what Mary did. She says, “Bob’s contractors handled the installation and he gave us the names of painters. They’ve all worked with him for a long time and he knows he can trust them. Everyone he recommended did a super job. We had the

whole house renovated in a month. They were so nice to deal with!” Ann adds “They also gave us plenty of advice on when to put rugs down, what kinds to choose, and how to keep our new floors looking clean and nice. We’d recommend them to anybody!” Bob, Renee, and Shaun McKelvey say, “All of us here at All About Carpet and Floors take pride in offering the best customer service and the best choices for your flooring, kitchen, and bath. Who’s Cleaning Your House?

ometimes you can tell just by taking a look around. Dad never wipes down the stove, Mom’s too short to dust the ceiling fan, and nobody cleans under the sofa. Even if you have someone come in to clean, there’s always a spot that gets missed...unless you call the professionals! Max McCammond, our local cleaning expert and owner of Professional Maid Service says, “We send in rotating teams of maids. They’re highly-trained to spot every spot, sanitize your bathrooms, and wipe all your dust away for a professional sparkle!” There’s no dream team like a team of Professional Maids. They receive the best training in the nation when it comes to clean-
ing. Many eyes and pairs of hands mean that every square inch of your home will be really, truly, deeply clean. Not only that, but the Professional Maids arrive uniformed in a company car, are bonded and insured and are backed by Max’s personal guarantee. He says, “I believe getting your home clean should be easy for you. We offer no-hassle key drop off and pick up, our maids will dust with Pledge and clean your mirrors with Windex, and the only thing we ask is that you enjoy your home and leave the cleaning to us! We’re always just a phone call away.” This spring when your friends see you in the park with your kids, don’t let them think you’re just having fun. Tell them, “Right now I’m also doing my Spring Cleaning the smart way...by leaving it to the Professionals!” Professional Maid Service 281-342-6500 www.professionalmaidservice.com
Cleaning to the “Max” Max’s Cleaning Tip: Does your dishwasher smell not-so-fresh? Add a lemony scent (or help it work through a really greasy load), with a simple yet affordable fix. Cut a juicy lemon in half, remove the seeds and press the cut side onto the spikes of the upper rack. Run your dishwasher as usual. Once the cycle is finished, discard the washed lemon and admire the miracle of citric acid at work. Do this once a month (without dishes) to keep your dishwasher fresh.

hen Alicia Brady moved here from Maryland with her husband and two daughters, eight-year-old Emi and nine-year-old Quinn, last June, she needed some recommendations. She says, “We didn’t know anyone at all. I took my girls to my dentist, Dr. Yu, and one of his machines didn’t fit in Emi’s mouth. He referred us to Dr. Biancia Sanchez at Little People’s Dentistry... and my girls have gone to her every since!” “When I was growing up, I don’t remember going to a pediatric dentist, but my girls had one in Maryland they loved...and Dr. Sanchez’s office is very similar. When you walk in the door, it’s obvious it’s a place for kids. They love it! There’s always something fun on the television, they have a giant fish tank and toys. My daughters would love to have their bedrooms decorated the way the back of the office is, with a California surf vibe.” “Not only is the place styled

for kids, but Dr. Sanchez is really a big kid at heart! She and her staff really know kids and understand them. We’ve needed some cavities filled, and Dr. Sanchez has done a great job. I think at lot of grownups have had unpleasant childhood experiences at the dentist, but Dr. Sanchez makes my girls excited about coming in! Even though they’ve had fillings, they still love coming to see her!” “When Little People’s Dentistr y called and invited us to participate in the ‘Patient Appreciation Party’ we were thrilled! The girls loved the snacks and goody bags and wearing the boas and sunglasses. They felt so special getting their pictures taken by a professional photographer. And we thought Dr. Sanchez made a wonderful tooth fairy!” “I can tell my youngest is going to need some work done, so I’m glad to know that Dr. Sanchez and Dr. Radford offer orthodontics. I’m so glad Dr. Yu recommended Dr. Sanchez to me...and I’ve been recommending her to all my friends! New Possibilities for Our Family: Carmen’s Story M
y husband and I had been trying to start a family for three years before our Ob/Gyn referred us to Dr. Mangal, at the Fertility Specialists of Houston. Dr. Mangal is fellowship-trained in both advanced reproductive laparoscopic surgery as well as reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). He is also board-certified in both ObstetricsGynecology and REI.” “I suspected something bigger might be preventing us from getting pregnant, because I had surgery for fibroids when I was only sixteen. Every year and a half afterwards I had reoccurring problems. When Dr. Mangal examined me for the first time, he said, “Carmen, you have severe endometriosis. Unfortunately, you’re like the Queen of Endometriosis.” There are a lot of things I’d like to be Queen of, but endometriosis wasn’t one of them! He explained that I had the worst stage of endometriosis with tissue growth all through my pelvis and abdomen, so that my organs were glued together like frozen bird wings that couldn’t move.” “Even though Dr. Mangal told me it was serious, he was very positive. I had seen multiple doctors for my condition in Louisiana, Dallas, and Houston. In fact, when I was twenty-five one doctor had suggested I get a partial hysterectomy to relieve my symptoms! Not only did Dr. Mangal performed surgery for the endometriosis, he kept my dream of having a family alive. He didn’t argue with me or give me the same old story I’d always heard. He gave me hope!”

“I was very happy to have a pain-free life after my surgery with Dr. Mangal. A friend gave me the book “Supernatural Childbirth” and it really opened me up to the possibilities God has given us through specialists llike Dr. Mangal. Dr. Mangal suggested that the best option for pregnancy would be to do in-vitro fertilization (test-tube baby), but we could not do that for personal reasons. As a second option, he suggested fertility injections with intrauterine insemination (IUI). After only one treatment cycle, we got pregnant! Dr. Mangal was so pleased. On the day my daughter was born, my parents revealed that in the past doctors had told them when I was sixteen that it was unlikely I’d ever conceive a child. God took the long route with my baby girl, but I’m so glad He brought us to Dr. Mangal.” “When we planned another addition to our family, we went back to Dr. Mangal...and discovered we were already eight weeks pregnant! I believe God used Dr. Mangal’s surgical expertise to make everything work like it should. I encourage anyone who’s ever heard “Not possible” to see Dr. Mangal. He gave us possibilities we’d never had before!” Fertility Specialists of Houston 713-512-7880 www.FSHivf.com

That’s why I offer three different health care solutions.” If you’re happy with your insurance and your deductible, come visit Dr. Alford at the Sweetwater Medical Associates family practice office. You can opt for the basic recommended tests or the comprehensive package…and you’ll know upfront exactly what it will cost. Everything will be included and easy to understand…your cost and your results!”

Jonee and Paul Barnett of Miracle Method Surface Restoration say, “As you know if you’ve seen our surface restoration of existing counters, showers, and tubs...we’re strongly in favor of ‘aging in place!’ We can transform more than surfaces. Our Easy Step® transforms a bathtub into a shower in a single day for a fraction of the cost of walk-in tubs. Have You Seen the Light? S
ure, you could run around hitting one light switch after another to create the right “mood” for your movie night. You could wonder as you pull out of the driveway if the kids turned off their bedroom lights. You could keep getting up out of bed to make sure the lights are off in the study and laundry room. Or...you could step out of the Dark Ages and seize control with a wireless total home control system. We asked Richard Machemehl and Scott Crain of Home Theater Evolutions to shed a little light on their favorite new innovation. Why should you have to move towards the light to control it? Scott says, “The Lutron Home Control Radio Ra2 is a wireless home control system that lets you adjust the lights and regulate the temperature in a single room or throughout your house. Since it’s wireless, we have real flexibility in the installation...and it can be controlled with your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch which makes it really affordable and easy-to-use!”
If you love your existing home, but you also want control over your lighting, it doesn’t have to be a hassle. Richard says, “A home that isn’t pre-wired doesn’t have to re-wired... with the Lutron Home Control Radio Ra2, a wireless lighting control system. Light control, scene adjustment, shade and blind precise movement, time clock events, and even an energy “green button” put options literally at your fingertips. Scott and I love how easy our customers find it to program, change, and maintain. And since it’s wireless...we don’t have to cut into your walls and you don’t have to be near a light switch to control every light in your house!” Ready to hit the lights? You can dim lights to create mood and save electricity, even increasing the life of your bulbs up to 150% and switching off standby power to smaller appliances when they’re not being used. Control your safety lights and patio lights without lifting more than a finger. Program groups of lights to create the right setting for watching a movie, having dinner, or doing work. If you’re driving your son to soccer, you can double-check to make sure he turned off his bedroom, bathroom or game room lights. Best of all, you don’t need a degree to operate this system. All it takes is the Lutron Home Control apps on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. Have you seen the light? Drop by the Home Theater Evolutions Showroom for a firsthand look at how easy your life (and your lights) could be! Home Theater Evolutions 281-980-2300 3157 Highway 6 at Williams Trace www.htevo.com

ant your kids to grow? You’ve got to teach ‘em what you know. That’s the way our country was built. From the colonists who founded America to the pioneers who expanded it, families handed down values like hard work, honest-dealing, and taking care of your neighbor. That’s the foundation of our country...and the bedrock of Alan’s Plumbing. Back in the day, if you wanted a solid wooden table or new horseshoes on your horse, you went to the families who’d built a reputation in the business. Sons followed in their father’s footsteps. That’s what you’ll find at Alan’s Plumbing. Being a family-owned and operated business for the last fifteen years keeps the operating costs low...and Alan’s Plumbing passes those savings on to you. At one point when my A/C wasn’t working and my wife was frustrated with the heat, I called All Out A/C and they sent a technician promptly. Furthermore, when he had to order a part, he made the call, found out it was under warranty, and saved me a couple hundred dollars. They really go the distance to help their customers!” “When we had problems with air flow at our office (some offices were hot, others were freezing) we called All Out A/C. They found and fixed some sagging ducts and we’re seeing a fifteen percent reduction on our monthly electric bill. When you’re talking about an 11,000 square foot space with 40 offices, that’s one job that’s paid for itself over time!” “My front desk receptionist first recommended All Out A/C when I needed work done at my house. I realized I’d seen their trucks around town as well...they have a very distinctive logo.
Later I met Bryan Bellamy through a local business network. Since then, I’ve visited their office and their warehouses. I’m very impressed with the level of cleanliness, professionalism, and courtesy of their technicians. Bryan’s a small business owner, but he runs All Out A/C like a Fortune 500 company and everyone there loves it and takes pride in what they do.
