INTRO TO DIGITAL IMAGING: PLANNING AND RESEARCH PRESENTATION

Theme: This project is focusing on the metaphoric aspects of photography and the role it plays in interpreting framed works. Photographers have the ability of transforming an object from what it is to what you want it to be, says Ernst Haas. In spite of employing color and black and white films in photographs, the techniques such as depth of field, selective focus and blurred motion are integral as a narrative in framing works. In order to presenting a dynamic and vivid image, there should be multiple selections in constructing the scene before photographing it. The conception of project is essential and has a meaning of story telling. In the mind map of my final folio, the exploration of different metaphorical expressions that are adopted in

photographs is the central idea of this project. I will employ the shallow depth of field, selective focus and blurred motion in the subject. In terms of framing works can create a sort of magic effect on images.

Working Title

Still life

Theme Since human beings have dominated the earth, the habitat of animals has also been invaded. In spite of the shrinking living spaces for animals, there is another serious problem among environment is that the waste caused by human. In terms of growing population, urban waste is increasing. From observing discarded waste such as bottles, cans, and other consumptions, the value of waste is often considered useless stuff. However, as we know that still life painting have been regarded as one of significant distinct genre since 16th century and it gives

the artists a freedom of arrangement of elements. In terms of rendering the sort of still life paintings into discarded matters, it creates the relationships that are built up from each object. Furthermore, through working with arrangement of waste and it gives us the different aspects of viewing the waste. While the wastes are transformed into still life and are composed in order to form a volume and tonal range in divided objects, the perspective of aesthetic can be achieved. This project aims at viewing urban waste and discarded materials. It will focus on the composition of still life and play around the discarded objects that I took from the public space.

Topic: BYGONENOW Theme: The conceptual idea of my images is that people prefer preserving photos by using technology such as Instagram and Histogram nowadays. Due to the variety of effects and the efficiency Instagram has provided, the conventional photography seems to lose the advantage of processing photos. From my images, I took photos and processed them as traditional photographs. Then, I went back to the place again to take photos. The pictures that I was holding have the meaning of the past and the scene I went back again to take photos is related to the present. Furthermore, I framed these photos as they are in Instagram. People have adapted to the framing work
