Welcome to the 2014 Celtic Paddle Fest The fes val is set to take place from the 10th-11th May 2014 in the spectacular se ng of Arisaig on the Road to the Isles. The Cel c Paddle Fest will cater for all abili es from those who have never been in a canoe or kayak before to those who wish to learn some new skills or try some new equipment such as sit-on-top kayaks! Staged in the Outdoor Capital of the UK the fes val base offers stunning views of the West Coast of Scotland and provides everyone with the opportunity to get out on the water. The fes val will involve 2 Sessions of Kayak and Canoe Ac vi es each day, with Half Day ac vi es coun ng as 1 session and Full Day ac vi es coun ng as 2 sessions. We will also have an Evening BBQ and some entertainment on the Saturday Evening. We have created a programme of ac vi es which we would like to run over the course of the weekend, however all ac vi es are subject to change depending on the weather and demand for each ac vity. Registra on will be held at 08.30 each morning where you will have the opportunity to sign up for the ac vi es you would like to a end. Morning sessions will begin at 09.30 and run through to 12.30, with a lunch break from 12.30 to 13.30, and A ernoon sessions running from 13.30 to 16.30. Full Day sessions will also begin at 09.30. All par cipants must be over the age of 16. Any child 16 or under may be able to a end by prior arrangement with the event organisers, please email info@cel cpaddlefest.co.uk.

The perfect session if you want to learn more about canoeing or if you've never been canoeing before. Explore Loch Morar from the comfort of a two-man open Canadian canoe. If the wind is with us we'll also rig a sail to sail across the water.

Loch Morar

Ideal for those who have paddled tandem in a canoe before and would like to learn more about how to paddle solo. This is a fun session with short tasks being set to improve your skills.

Triathlon

Saturday 10th May, 5pm.

The Silver Sands of Morar are a celebrated series of beau ful sandy beaches, which pepper the coastline from Arisaig to Morar. Located between Arisaig and Mallaig on the beau ful west coast the event hub is the perfect loca on to launch the opening leg of the Paddle Triathlon. The cycle will comprise a road bike friendly course and finally a stunning beach and trail run. For full details, event rules & safety and a link to the map of the event please visit the website. 1. PADDLE We have created three courses and the classes are: First for the Sea Kayaker will be 3km Second for the Open Canoe will be 2km Third for the Stand Up Paddle Board will be 1km. 2. BIKE We have created a fantas c course of 2 laps of approximately 12.5km which is suitable for road bikes, the route is a mix of A Class and B Class roads. We have outlined a hilly but fun route offering views of Skye, Eigg and Rum. 3. RUN At 6km you do not need to be a hero, however you will feel like one as you make your way along the rugged coastline and then onto the world famous Camusdarach Beach (Local Hero, you see what I did there?) before returning back to transi on. This is definitely one for the diary.

Catering We will have catering on site during the fes val with a hot plate breakfast offering hot rolls, tea & coffee. Packed lunches can be pre-ordered each morning with filled rolls, chocolate bar, crisps and a drink. We will also enjoy a BBQ dinner on the Saturday evening.
