OBIE HOUSE A Residence designed for the nuclear family of a budding actor at a site within Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. The residence is named after the lighting used during the shoot of films known as the obie which highlights the the main protagonists of the movies.
TYPE OF PROJECT: Residence SITE AREA: 875 m² LOCATION: Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu
REDUCTION OF THERMAL GAIN AND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT The regional climate of Trichy is hot and arid, with occasional water shortages, hence why reduction of thermal gain and rainwater harvesting becomes a necessity The absence of much need natural vegetation is induced in grass pavers and well irrigated backyards with vegetated terrace gardens.

A Playschool accomodating 30 students inclusive of a daycare and recreational fun activities that promote hollistic growth of children at their tender age, in Trichy, TN.

Inspired by the ‘Snake game’ of the millenial era, the massing of this playschool is based off a modernized version of the same.
Addition of further details and overhead tanks
A simple cuboidal form to accomodate all the spaces within the requirements.
Addition of extrusions and recessions to provide lighting and interest within the form.

The sunshades serve as not only an attractive element but also a cloak for structural columns, plumbing and electric fixtures.

Addition of Snake like extrusions in and aorund the builidng to provide for concealing columns and act and shading devices.
Processing of the final form and addition of colour and further details.

THE BRIEF A Senior Citizens Home along the site located in the outskirts of ECR (East Coast Road) and measures 55 mt. (North- South) and 40 mt.(East-West) with a 20 m road to the east and a large water body to the west of the site. To plan the development of the region and to evolve harmonized policies for the control of land-usage and development of infrastructure in the region adequate facilities are simultaneously developing in this region.

THE CONCEPT ABSTRACTION OF NATURAL LANDFORMS Senior citizens are often neglected and hence it is imperative that they are treated sensitively and within walls they do not feel confined to. The approach with this design was to use materials such as stained concrete finishes and water features with light wells to provide interesting light patterns that increase the residents connection with nature.
