For the Winter 14-15 range, we have given a fresh look to the Rip Curl Mountainwear, with a point of difference, while at the same time keeping the unique ‘Rip Curl’ identity that we have built up over the last 26 years. Drawing on our heritage, some of the influences we have used in the design include technology and innovation, yardages for fun and irreverence, and our history of using the Search philosophy in the snow industry.

YARDAGES Rip Curl has built a credibility of incorporating the most innovative selection of yardage prints in the garments, an important element in matching our brand values of fun and irreverence. This is a point of strength for Rip Curl, and it is what the customer expects from us. Therefore we have combined the best of the surfwear yardages with current snow trend yardages, to give the finest offer of yardage prints in the Mountainwear.

SEARCH Rip Curl has had an unique and colourful heritage in the snow industry. A big part of the Rip Curl heritage has been the Search to make products with new innovations and technology, and adapted to the current trends. Today Rip Curl continues to make ‘Products of the Search’, and the Winter 14-15 range gives a snapshot of our history of the Search, by reintroducing poppy fluoro colours, vintage rainbow logo, colour blocking…, without compromising the current trends.

U LTI M ATE DRYI NG TECH NOL OGY What is 37.5 ? The Ultimate Breathable Technology for increased comfort and performance. 37.5 technology is a 100% natural performance technology which uses millions of microporous particles. These particles can be spun into a fiber then knit into a fabric, for use in Mid and Base Layer Garments. The particles can also be inserted into the membrane, for use in outer layer garments. Because the technology is contained within the fibers, it will not wash out. Why 37.5 ? 37.5 degrees is the ideal core body temperature for comfort and performance. 37.5% is the optimum relative humidity in the body’s microclimate for comfort and performance. The ultimate thermo regulating system to maintain 37.5 is the skin. It uses the mechanism of sweating to cool the body during exercise. If the sweat can’t evaporate, the body overheats, and performance and comfort decreases. 37.5 technology works with the skin to allow the water vapor to pass through and evaporate, maximizing comfort and performance. How ? 37.5 active particles inserted into the fabric increase the surface area of the fabric by up to 800%, to speed up evaporative cooling. The particles have been tested by industry standards and shown to dry up to 5 times faster than similar fabrics. We now have 37.5 technology incorporated into all of our fabric layers – adding it to the padding and the lining, (keeping it in all other layers as per last year), and being the first on the market to use this technology so extensively. We have created a total layering system that works together to maximize evaporative cooling, and keep the riders warm and dry.
