Raised in Los Angeles, California and Mexico, my BA Degree is from the University of Washington. My artwork is reminiscent of movie stills, moments frozen in time, engaging the viewer in the narrative. Fascinated with the human form, texture of hair, and the mixing of color, my work focuses on bold tones and interlocking shapes, where the negative and positive spaces, based upon values of light and dark, converge.

“Being originated from digital and electronic media environment, images of my works, have, in my opinion, too many “noises” that conceal the laconic beauty of an object, whether a flower or a gorgeous woman head. In my eyes and hands objects undergo a process of refinement and transformation in an absolute form, sometimes to a symbol. The color palette, going through the same processes, shakes off all shades like understatements, and the local color gains its strongest sound, with all elements fatally interdependent. All forms are filled up with their new bright texture. Therefore, what was just a moment caught by a camera, now attains new, everlasting, bright life in color, wood, acryl. “

The evolution of my paintings does not follow a predetermined concept. Rather, my works gradually evolve in an intuitive and dynamic process. First I apply acrylic paints to the canvas using various techniques to then remove excess paint in several steps or rework the surface. The initial brush strokes are overlap or come together and determine the direction the painting process has to go until a harmonious painting emerges.

MARISSA CALBET

Spain www.marissacalbet.com Marissa comes to a slow destructuring of the forms discovering sailboats hidden in the fog, lakes with thier atmosphere. We can see a word that seems to peep out from a light and enveloping fog ... with a softness wich produces a calm interior, inviting thespectator to go deep into a simultaneously real and imaginary word ... in the end wrapping itself around you. My body of work represents a physical structuring of spirituality. A search for balance within our consciousness and journey to clarity, emptiness and inner peace. Included here are contemporary digital photographs of banal objects of human consumption, whose beauty comes to light in the stillness of white space. Captured in the now moment.

NAVEEN SHAKIL

United States www.naveenshakil.com The concept of presence/disintegration of the human existence plays a pivotal theme in my art. Exploring/evaluating my body’s reaction to the stimulus of my emotional state, to bind this to a more metaphysical visualisation. ‘Catharsis’ is my translation of the crisis of ‘self’ into the language of figurative realism; creating a dialogue between this realism into surrealism while fusing it with elements of geometry to create a spacial tension.

NICK BYER

United States www.nickbyer.com “Abstract art is not about doing its about being. It is not part of cognitive reasoning, it’s a new limitless experience.” My paintings are inspired by people nature and life’s journey. The organic forms shapes and energy I observe fuel my subconscious and its spirit is manifested in my art. I work very spontaneous and capture the essence of my subjects then over time, apply many layers on my work giving it a very authentic timeless feel. I like for the viewer to be drawn in and make an emotional connection. Overall my art is a celebration of life. Rothkov

PATRICK BACHIAN France www.saatchiart.com/pb

My approach is oriented towards a permanent exploration of compositions of colored geometric shapes, which initially are structured and then deliberately sowewhat distorted, giving the illusion, and by an instinctive gesture, of a free and informal abstract expression.

SANNA MARIA PAANANEN Finland www.sannamariapaananen.com

Sanna Maria Paananen’s paintings are modern day allegorical figures, dealing with issues like being an artist, being female and how to view femininity. Paananen’s paintings are mainly done in oils with a limited palette, but mixed with other types of paint and collage materials to create contrasts in an otherwise subdued manner of painting. She also works collaboratively with the painter Tero Ulvila, mixing her representational style with his abstract. Voimanainen
