Whereas, the current policy for professor absences does not hold the department responsible for notifying students prior to a canceled class; Whereas, it is an inconvenience for resident and commuter students to come to campus only to find that their class has been canceled; Whereas, all students in said class would benefit from prior knowledge of a class cancelation; Therefore, be it resolved by the Student Senate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte: SECTION I:

The Student Senate requests academic department administrative assistants or professors e-mail the class list serve once they become aware that a professor is going to cancel class.
