ABOUT ME Since the beginning I have always been fascinated with beautiful appearing spaces, trend setting designs, & luxury lifestyle products. In pursuit of exploring my inclination towards art & design I pursued architecture, which has helped widened my knowledge, creativity, exploration and perspective to life. It has made me sensitive to human behavior, its pattern, function, region and to its culture. With this understanding it makes me more responsible to the society to deliver a design which is strategically functional, aesthetical pleasing and provide better solutions which advance living patterns. A forward looking professional with deep commitment to hard work, I can efficiently perform in team based tasks as well as independently. I am always ready for creative solutions in a design process. Aim to explore opportunities that help develop my creative thinking, design concepts and interpersonal skills. LINKS

THESIS : SEMESTER X I 2017 - 18

Site Location : Ahmedabad, Gujarat Site Area : 70,000sqm

WATER MUSEUM ‘a narrative and experiential environment to foster public awareness about essence of water to life. “The focus is how to challenge built form in favor to evoke the human senses and inquire into the place with meaning. Examining the parallels and interdependencies between the design process and the theoretical premises of urban and environmental psychology, encompassing the perceptions, awareness, and experience. Water is the essence of everything that flows in nature. From the large oceans and seas with their currents to the human body and its cells, life is associated with water and its movement. Water over years have been used in myriad of ways, but the focus is now shifted to water as aesthetic and landscape element. Water has lost its ambiguity in its direct sense. An appreciation of the water amenity will reinforce a concern for n a t u r a l water forms & the life-support system that they provide. It is now through architecture to actualize water in direct sense, where water is introduced through narrative appearance which is communicated and experienced. Engaged with the body, senses, emotions, scientific and sustainability messages to the audience in order to sensitize and portrayed its importance with the being to save this precious element, water.

- Ahmedabad

THE SITE Ahmedabad is one of those industrialized cities of India where the past and present have fused together beautifully. The city in the past decade has observed unimaginable transformation of the Sabarmati river, which was once parched riverbed, sometimes used for farming or with puddles of industrial effluents and sewage. The stretch of 11km is developed into river-front development. The project has observed quiet of controversy in its primitive stage but today the project and the river is the heart of the city. It is occupied which variegated activities depending on the surrounding context. The project is land reclamation project where the water in the river is channelized from Narmada river. The vital purpose for selecting this city was that the local residents here have enjoyed both the luxury from the project and has also witnessed the dried off sabarmati river. The Sabarmati Riverfront Development has been hailed as a project towards urban regeneration & environmental improvement, which will transform the river to a focal point of leisure and recreation. However, this fails to look at the river system as a whole, and limits the development to an isolated stretch or ‘frontage’ for the river. Hence a proposing a knowledge center will act as catalyst in order to impart awareness about the usage of water and its essence.

HORTICULTURE PLAN

FIGURE - GROUND PLAN

The riperian vegetation and wastelands is present at a slope of 2m from the upper promenade. The site observes grasslands as at present it iis used for growing marigold flowers. The soil available here is sandy soil beacuse of the presence of the water.

Since the area here is underdeveloped low density of masses is o b s e r v e d . Development along the industries observes high density as the workers leave nearby and with that many small scale commercial activities is seen.

LAND - USE PLAN

HEIGHT - MATRIX PLAN

The area here is h i g h l y underdeveloped. Thus the residences here are majorly people working in these industries. The public utility buildings are also seen here because of the presence of the water.

Due to the presence of industries the development is majorly ground spreaded rather than vertical development. The housing here are similar to the slum area with the chajjas and brick walls. The area observes majority of G and G+1 development.

URBAN DESIGN STUDIO: SEMESTER IX I 2017-18

URBAN PARK “a multifaceted place of congregation accommodating various activities. The attempt is to instill in the existing urban city fabric, give identity to the place and intervene the solutions to urban issues. At the same design a place of congregation to meet the social, cultural and recreational purposes of the city and serve as an iconic landmark at the state level which reflects the distinctive character of the city’s people and its culture. The second largest and economic capital of the state of Gujarat, Surat city located in the southern region, on the bank of Tapi river. With the myriad of industries like textile, diamond and a large number of large and small scale industries, the city has seen immense growth in every aspect in past few decades. Vesu area is an extended part for the suburban district in southern west zone of the Surat city. The present scenario fulfills the basic requisites of qualitative life-style but, it lacks in designated public spaces. With densification in the city structure there is a greater need for space for urban interaction, community building and public engagement.

HOUSING DESIGN STUDIO: SEMESTER VIII I 2016-17

Site Location : Baroda, Gujarat Site Area : 84,000sqm

MIXED HOUSING Initially the idea was to understand the tangible and intangible aspects that are to be considered while designing a development where the user group is ranging from infant to old aged people. Secondly to understand the practicality of the Indian and worldly housing development variegated primary and secondary precedent studies were done. The precedent studies showed distinctive pragmatic and hypothetical approach to how to deal with the different context, how to make it cost effective, sustainable, affordable, hierarchy of spaces, street networks, connections, entry and exit points, facilities and services, public and private spaces, character of the development. Giving the context what it wants. How built form and open spaces contradict and complement each other at same time. The importance of open spaces in a residential area and its impact on social lives. It also focused on the infrastructure and services which make a building performance suitable and livable for the users. Hierarchy of the linkages and connectivity within the scheme and also within the existing fabric was focused on as a part of road network and connections. The concepts of density were catered as to make sure the design is suitable to the context in the terms of gross density. Different building typologies were explored looking upon the context and user groups present in it and to be targeted.

OFFICE INTERNSHIP: SEMESTER VII I 2016-17

Site Location : Surat, Gujarat Site Area : 730 sqm

PROPOSED RESIDENCE ‘this proposal was for a family of 5 with provision of 4 bedrooms, kitchen, living area, and large open garden for future extension. The client wanted the home to be drenched in natural light, together with an emphasis on greenery wherever possible. Privacy for each family member was also important, along with views from the common areas. Being the site strategically located on the corner plot the design has been more buffered with the green spaces on both the sides. The space moreover visually opens to the outside green spaces but are critically interacted making it an inward designed structure. At the ground level the spaces are dedicated for a servants quarters, parking and a guest bedroom. At the first level the spaces include living room, kitchen, dinning area and the master bedroom. The vertical shaft is along the dinning space which opens to the green space. Since the dinning space is double heighten, hence it offers greater views of the space through this vertical circulation. The second floor is dedicated only for the personal space. A contemporary, low maintenance design was also part of the requirements. Also the client has requested to keep the green space minimal as it was to serve as a dual purpose which encourages a warm gathering space for the guests.
