01 HERITAGE CELL SEM 3 | FALL 2017

The studio was aimed to provide the understanding of various materials used. The material used in this project is wood. The program was to build a seminar, studio space and exhibition space which fits in the architectural context of Ahmedabad. The site is located in the walled city of Ahmedabad which is at the junction which connects Teen Darwaza, Jami Mosque and Pankore Naka.

6

7

PROJECT INFORMATION The main idea for the project was to link the public spaces including the seminar hall, exhibition space, canteen and the private space being the residence unit. The link was created in the spaces through a big gathering space in the centre which was shaded throughout the day due to the tall buildings surround it. To explore the material wooden truss, sloping roofs and louvres were explored.

02 MASS HOUSING SEM 4 | SPRING 2018 The studio was aimed to provide housing to the community along with understanding the site context. The program was to build 16 large units (120 sq.m.), 25 medium units (80 sq.m.) and commercial units. The site is located in Anna Salia, the edge of the black and white town of Pondicherry.

PROJECT INFORMATION

MEDIUM CLUSTER : 2 BHK HOU

The main idea for the project was to create courtyards and connect them through a big community gathering space. Keeping the context in mind and the open fabric of Pondicherry I tried to make an open site, with facilities that could be used by all. There are various entries in the site which lead to the biggest community space. The design involves combination of public open spaces, private open spaces, parking and commercial complex.

03 Knowledge Centre SEM 5 | FALL 2018 The studio was aimed to design a centre for education in C.N. Vidhyalaya. The school required an extension to its facilities to enhance, accomodate and provide the best kind of infrastucture. The requirements were to build a reception area, canteen, exhibition space, library, computer lab, multimedia space and a multi purpose area. The site is located in C.N. Vidhyalaya, Ambavadi area of Ahmedabad, one of the major green patches of the city.

16

17

PROJECT INFORMATION The main idea for the project was to provide all the spaces in a way that there is an open space in front of it for the students to play and to create a buffer. Solid and void was the main concept while designing the knowledge centre. Voids were given through and through the site to provide a feel of connectivity to the other part of the site. Other voids have been created to form a big courtyard in the centre used by the children to play and eat as it is near the canteen. Pergolas, double volumed library space, recessed walls, louvred doors windows and multiple entry exit are the key features of the Institution.
