Year Level : Year 1, Semester 2 (Master’s) Subject : Studio B Nature of work : Group work (2 members) Frequent flooding and projected sea level rise already threaten many of Australia’s beachfront residential areas including Melbourne’s bayside suburbs. Year Level : Year 1, Semester 1 (Master’s) Subject : Studio B Nature of work : Group work (2 members) After studying the hoddle grid, one of the blocks was studied to generate a series of massing options. A set of design principles were identified (as shown below), which have been applied to the surroundings of the White Horse road in Box Hill, which is said to be the second CBD of Melbourne.

The goal is to tell the story of Indian agri-food culture combining local tradition, high-quality food, and the expertise of those who work in the agri-food chains, all under one roof. It will provide for a place of food production, manufacturing, sales, study, experience and gastronomy. This project will also cater to the growing culinary tourism market in India. THE 5 SENSES MUSEUM
The cafes have been designed to be accessed from all sides by the visitors. The outdoor seating area offers uninterrupted views of the clear waters and lush greenery. Floor to ceiling glass facades create a comfortable barrier to offer views as well as protect from the elements.

Year Level : Year 5, Semester 9 Subject : Urban Design Studio Nature of work : Group Work (6 members) Involvement : On site research and surveying, Analysis, Presentation sheets, Design formulation Chennai Metropolis is the fourth largest in India, encompassing an area of 1189 sqm. The scale of developments and vehicular growth had increased tremendously in the country and has reflected in this metropolis as well. The increase in travel demand with population and vehicular growth, declining share of public transport and enhanced reliance on the personal motor vehicle has led to increased costs due to travel delays, loss of productivity, deteriorating air quality and an increased incidence of road accidents. To solve the traffic and transportation issues for the long term and in an effective manner, the problem faced is to be evaluated comprehensively on the basis of detailed live traffic and transportation study to develop practical and flexible plans for meeting the future traffic and transportation needs.

TRANSIT HUB A transport hub (also transport interchange) is a public hub where passengers and cargo are exchanged between vehicles or between transport modes. These include train stations, rapid transit stations, bus stops, tram stops, airports and ferry slips. Intermodal passenger transport, also called mixed-mode commuting, involves using two or more modes of transportation in a journey. It is often used to combine the strengths (and offset the weaknesses) of various transportation options. Sections of city streets that are devoted to functioning as transit hubs are referred to as transit malls. This is the need of the hour, and is our Urban Design Proposal for the Koyambedu stretch of 100 feet road.

INTEGRATION OF METRO STATION
The existing water sump in the area has been relocated to the indicated position. The underground tank area has been re-used as a food court for the public.
The commercial buildings located in the current site have been built as a breach of the landuse map. Hence, they have been relocated/ demolished.
The current MTC bus terminus in CMBT is the main cause of congestion during peak hours. Thus, it has been redesigned and integrated into the design of the transit hub.
The current metro station in CMBT is not used properly by passengers due to lack of visbility from the road and improper access. Thus, it has been integrated into the transit hub.

Vehicular ramps have been provided along the furniture/ landscaping zone to enable the passage of vehicles. This ensures that the pedestrian pathway height is uniform.
Parking zones for private vehicles have been provided in between the extended landscape and furniture areas. Parallel parking is preferred for maximum visibility and safety.

CHANNELISING OF PARA TRANSIT - The vehicles that currently converge outside C.M.B.T. will be channelised into our Transit Hub. - Each vehicle will have dedicated lanes and waiting zones. - The road outside will be free of congestion

BUS STOPS
Ramps have been provided along the pedestrian pathway to ensure uninterrupted passage of vehicles into the streets. The vehicles will pass over the lowered pedestrian pathway.
Bus stops have been placed adjacent to the dedicated bus lane so that it does not need to pull over to the left. Thus, passengers can board the bus directly without walking into the street.

LANDSCAPE FEATURES
Vending spaces have been placed in an extended part of the pedestrian path, in the parking lane or in the furniture zone, leaving clear space for pedestrian movement.
