ABOUT A graduate of Manipal School of Architecture & Planning (MSAP) with over one year of work experience in architecture and interior design projects. Among all artistic fields, the choice of architecture came with my passion for producing something concrete that outlives me. I believe we have an emotional stance on everything we experience. This emotional potential of both materials and construction combined with an innovative response to the context and brief is what drives my designs.

MEMORIAL CENTRE The Smeeta Memorial Centre is conceived as a safe space for young girls to come together to discuss issues related to health, nutrition, vocation, and personal welfare. It is designed as a community center to host skits, lectures, and other events. This small public intervention is one of many public buildings designed u n d e r t h e p a t r o n a g e o f P a r i v a r t a n a n d Ta k s h i l a , w h i c h h a s b e e n w o r k i n g e x t e n s i v e l y i n S i w a n , B i h a r . The building is enclosed in an exterior wire-cut brick jaali which adds an interesting play of light and shadows. As light and breeze permeate the space, and sound travels from it, the porous exterior of the building makes it both safe and accessible.

FOREST RESORT The brief of the project is to design an eco-friendly forest resort that intends to blur the boundaries between nature and living spaces. Positioned in the lush valleys of the western ghats, the site is a narrow strip of land along the banks of river Sita with a view of the Agumbe Hills. Based on the potential and requirement of spaces, the interventions range from sustainably built cabins for accommodation to restaurants, spas, pools, and a bird-watching tower. Sustainability is a key driver in the planning process.

The master plan for the site proposes to position larger scale public programs in relation to important landscape features. The accommodation and other private programs are scattered more inconspicuously on the edges of water bodies. Since the scenic river at the sites attracts a host of arboreal wildlife, they make for ideal locations for forest cabins as observatories. The main walls of the cabins are made of rammed earth, an old technology revisited in a contemporary way. This adds to the earthy tactile quality of the building. The cabin uses a curved glass window in aluminum frames sliding between two rails, allowing the interior space to be occasionally transformed into an outdoor space.

The bird watching tower is envisioned to allow the visitors to learn and interact with the forest. Beginning at the base, the path will loop and rise to bring you closer to the trees, concluding with the observation deck. The structure is developed as an hour glass shape, allowing it more stability from the enlarged base and a larger area for viewing at the crown. The lattice structure formed cultivates Ground Floor Plan
