Front Elevation STUDIO Air Pollution Research Centre LOCATION Forest jambughoda TYPE Individual The studio is focused towards learning how to “design as a response to the natural and man-made landscape setting of the site and its immediate context”. A program for Air Pollution Research Centre will become the vehicle to explore the design problem The design probem are set in three different landscape conditions. The problem of air pollution in most Indian cities and town have become a matter of concern. The government of India proposes to set air pollution research centre all across the country. Here,the design position of a structure is a cuboidal form broken into parts creating a sense of circulation, Asymmetric yet not so random, Sense of level difference., Giving certain heights to building create a sense of experience ,atmosphere.The final outcome has sense of verticality and built at certain height to merge with the landscape. 01

Model Image STUDIO Form in Nature LOCATION NUV Parking Area TYPE Individual This studio project exemplifies our commitment to exploring, understanding, and translating the beauty and efficiency of natural forms into innovative architectural designs. By applying principles derived from the study of spider webs, particularly the tensile system, we aim to contribute to the evolution of architecture that harmoniously integrates with nature's design principles. The spider web's structural system aligns with tensile forces, utilizing tension to create a stable yet flexible network. Tensile structures, in general, involve elements under tension, resisting forces by elongating and distributing loads efficiently. Inspired by this, the studio explored the application of tensile forms in architectural design. 09

HABITABLE MODULARITY 3rd Year

Ground Floor Plan STUDIO Habitable Modularity LOCATION Anand TYPE Individual The ‘Habitable Modularity’ focuses on exploring the making of a module, its transformation and the act of repetition as a principle (tool) of space and place making. It aims to develop an architectural product with an understanding of formation of a cluster and factors attached to community living spaces The aim of this exercise will be to critically analyze the site context and deriving a program. The approach to achieve a final product will start with developing a module and its variations from the finding from the site. Final Design will be a habitable space in the cluster of the dense urban fabric by using the designed module and its multiplication which allows the dwellings to develop iteratively. 13

INITIAL RESPONSES TO THE SITE: •How did we arrive at site- through rickshaw, bikes and cars. As main streets were slight narrow which makes difficult for heavy vehicle to pass through creating chaos and trafic in area. •Accesible- shops having entrances facing main streets, and most of collector and local streets were accesible. •Parking Space- area covering between stambh and clock tower[main]. •Nearby traffic or Transit-iterative traffic on primary streets during daytime ,covering secondary streets too,but fewer on tertiary streets. •Sound(traffic)- chaotic and noisy on main streets due to [import/export]transport shops nearby, reducing to secondary street ,and much lower on tertiary streets.

A space that gives a chance to glimpse into the world portrayed on stage to learn about our own lives, society and culture. Theatre is a powerful medium of expression to create social awareness among the people to fight against social evils. It shapes the perspective of many people just as with any other medium and is very good means of entertainment as well.

SITE ANALYSIS The site has busy streets as well as calmer streets. Nearby traffic on main streets during daytime. There’s lack of green space around the landmark(theatre). An integration of residential and commercial spaces ,where commercials are on the edges of the main streets merged with some organic form residential spaces. On our visit to Mandu we were engaged in research and documentation of old and interesting "mahals" (palaces) and mosques. During your time there, you explored the construction systems employed in these structures, including various techniques and materials used. We had the unique opportunity to observe and engage with the ongoing conservation efforts dedicated to certain structures. This experience provided us with an immersive learning environment, allowing for a comprehensive study of the historical and architectural elements of the sites. 35

Model Images PROJECT RSP LOCATION Calicut, Kerela TYPE Group [work by me - measurements on site , model making, and sketches.] A study of wooden boats making crafts community and art of kochi fort at kochi biennale . The study encompassed various types of boats, with a particular emphasis on the "uru" boat. The uru boat is a traditional wooden vessel native to the coastal areas of Kerala. These boats are distinguished by their exquisite craftsmanship and intricate designs. Typically large and seafaring, uru boats have played a significant role in the cultural and economic history of the region. They are often used for fishing, transporting goods, and even as houseboats for tourism. he significance of uru boats in architecture lies in their symbiotic relationship with the local landscape. These vessels, born from the craftsmanship ingrained in Kerala's cultural fabric, are not merely functional; they stand as living examples of how architectural principles are intertwined with the needs and traditions of a community. 37

The goal is to determine the appropriateness of the site for designing a civic space, specifically the headquarters for tourism. This involves a thorough examination of various elements that contribute to the site's potential. The site forces thats plays major role ,the immediate context around the site. Construction and Structures Cantilever System Individual

WHAT IS CANTILEVER? A cantilever can be defined as a projecting member or beam supported at only one end or distributed along the unsupported portion.Usually the load carrying end is free as there’s no suport underneath.The load distribution in such a structural element is done by cantilever action.The upper half is of cantilever’s beam thickness is subjected to tensile stress, tending to elongate the fibres, the lower half to compressive stress, tending to crush them. Like other structural members, a cantilever beam can be formed as beams, truss or slabs.When beam is subjected to structural weight at it’s far,unsupported end, the member carries the load or weight to th e support where it applies shear stress and a bending moment. It allows overhanging strucutres without addititonal support. 41

BASICS OF CONSTRUCTION

La Zarzuela Racecourse seating is divided into three stands: — Its two outer 60 m long structures flank, a 30 m long central grandstand. — The innovative, thin shell roof is only 5 cm thick at the edge and 14.50 cm thick at the spring line. — The marquee laminar flies almost 13 meters. With these proportions, the sense of lightness intrinsic to this type of shell is particularly emphasized.

Sections 1,5,9,13,17,21,25,27 . The thickening is the result of the choice of a linear edge instea of a curve that forms at the intersection of two hyperboloids of a sheet. The building consists of three distinct parts: •Tracks, •Horse area •The area for the public.
