Education is the "KEY" '22-'23 District Project Education is essential for health, wellness, and stability. Access to a good education provides children with the best possible start to life, and brings to light a world of learning, curiosity, and opportunity. And while New Jersey is ranked as one of the highest in quality of education, many economically disadvantaged students experience a significant learning loss. Over the past few years, economically disadvantaged students in New Jersey have lost 40% of expected learning in Language Arts, and 43% in mathematics, compared to only 33% for non-economically disadvantaged learners. 430,000 students just in grades 3-8 will be below grade level. The COVID pandemic has only exacerbated this problem, but New Jersey Key Club is determined to address this disparity. We are excited to announce this year’s district project— Education is the Key, “Children: Their Future, Our Focus.” Let’s ensure each and every child in New Jersey has access to a quality education. Key Clubs' goal with this initiative is to manufacture change regarding filling in the learning gaps created by the pandemic. We aim to provide the programs and resources that work to benefit adolescents all over the state in bridging learning difficulties. This project encompasses a plethora of different service activities, such as book drives, tutoring opportunities, and educational awareness programs. Our long-term goal for this project is to motivate and increase students' engagement and learning potential. The more support that students receive, the more confidence and reliance we will be instilling into them in their pathway to educational exuberance.
