Miracles happen. Easter changes everything

Welcome A very warm welcome to our worship this morning from all at New Laigh Kirk. We are delighted you are here today and hope you enjoy worshipping with us. Please make yourself known to those sitting beside you. There will be a short service of communion in the church immediately after the service.

New Laigh Kirk - a place to belong Whether you are a guest or regular attender we invite you to find your welcome place among us, a place to belong, to join in regular worship, to join in the life of our Kirk in whatever capacity and in your own appropriate way. You will see that there are many people of all ages seeking to serve within New Laigh Kirk as well as the wider community. As part of the family of God and gifted with many and varying talents, we try to use these to deepen our faith, care for each other, and to spread into our town and parish the good news of God’s love for all. May God richly bless you in your worship today.

Order of Service Choir Introit:

Praise to the Lord

Call to Worship Hymn 105

Glory to God above!

Prayer All Age Address I want to walk with Jesus Christ, all the days I live of this life on earth; to give to Him complete control of body, mind and soul. Follow Him, follow Him, Yield your life to Him – He has conquered death, He is King of kings; Accept the joy which He gives to those Who yield their lives to Him.

I want to learn to speak to Him, to pray to Him, confess my sin, to open my life and let Him in, for joy will then be mine. I want to learn to speak of Him my life must show that He lives in me; my deeds, my thoughts, my words must speak all of His love for me. I want to learn to read His Word, for this is how I know the way to live my life as pleases Him, in holiness and joy. O Holy Spirit of the Lord, enter now into this heart of mine; take full control of my selfish will and make me wholly Thine! Children leave for Kingz Kidz Reading:

Intimations The welcome team today and on Sunday, 11th March is Lilian Gillies, Barbara Allan, Andrew Bryson, Jim Lawson, Peter Adam, John McDowall, Iain Sherry, Betty Johnstone, Elaine Bryson, Moyra O'Rourke, Christine Bell, Donald MacLean, Ann MacLean, Ian McCall and Kevin Handling. Worship on Sunday 11th March Mother’s Day will be led by our young people from Trekkers. This service will start with tea, coffee and home baking so make sure you turn up on time to enjoy it. Enquirers Classes for those who wish to become full members of the Church by Profession of Faith begin on Thursday, 8th March at 7.30pm in the Vestry. Please give your name to the minister. The Stated Annual Meeting of the Trustees and Congregation of New Laigh Kirk will take place immediately after worship on Sunday, 18th March. ALL Trustees (Elders and Board members) are required to attend). This is an important meeting bringing our congregation up to date with matters of Stewardship and administration of our church’s work and the part all members of our congregation play and contribute to. The NLK Children's Choir will start rehearsals again TODAY from 12.30pm to 2.00pm. All children and young people aged between 7 and 14 are welcome to come along and join us to sing with the church and other performances. There will be a lunch break, therefore we encourage the children to bring a packed lunch before the rehearsal. Kingz Kidz are looking for leaders, so if you would like to help out in any way as part of the Sunday School for one, two or more times, then please contact Amy, Email: amy_bh@hotmail.co.uk. A few copies of the Order of Service in large print are available. Please speak to a member of the duty team if you require one. The total received to date for the 820/100 Heritors Challenge Fund has now passed £34,000 and my thanks to all who have contributed to date. ● For members who wish to pay by cheque, please make the cheque payable to New Laigh Kirk and write on either the envelope or the rear

of the cheque "Heritors Challenge Fund." Cheques, in an envelope, may be given to me or put in the collecting plate and I will get them at the end of the Service. ● For members paying by cash, it would be helpful if you could put your name on the envelope as I can then acknowledge your contribution and also claim back Gift Aid if you are a tax payer. I already hold Gift Aid Declarations for most members who pay Income Tax so no further paperwork is required. A £100 donation results in an additional £25 in tax reclaim. ● For members filling the collecting boxes, if you have completed the Challenge, boxes may be handed in. It would be helpful if your name and address is written on the box. The Congregational Board agreed that as the boxes were only issued for distribution in August that some members may require more time rather than the original end of December completion date and it was agreed that Elders would collect the boxes from members who are using this method as they are distributing the Communion cards for the April Communion. Thank you for your support for The Heritors Challenge Fund and for New Laigh Kirk. Ken Stewart. FairTrade Fortnight - until Sunday, 11th March - "Come on In". New Laigh Kirk is a FairTrade Congregation. This event is part of Fairtrade Fortnight, and is supported by the Co-op and Fairtrade. "The Real Easter Egg" - a FairTrade product - tells the story of Easter, is made from FairTrade Chocolate, (dark and milk chocolate eggs are available in different sizes) and a charitable donation is made to Traidcraft for every Easter Egg sold. Find out more about The Real Easter Egg from the leaflet on New Laigh Kirk FairTrade Group's display at the rear of the church.
