Hymn 448
Lord the light of your love is shining
Lord, the light of your love is shining in the midst of the darkness, shining; Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us, set us free by the truth you now bring us. Shine on me, shine on me. Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory; blaze, Spirit, blaze, set our hearts on fire. Flow, river flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy; send forth your word, Lord, and let there be light! Lord I come to your awesome presence, from the shadows into your radiance; by your blood I may enter your brightness, search me try me, consume all my darkness. Shine on me, shine on me. Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory;
blaze, Spirit, blaze, set our hearts on fire. Flow, river flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy; send forth your word, Lord, and let there be light! As we gaze on you kingly brightness, so our faces display your likeness, ever changing from glory to glory, mirrored here may our lives tell your story. Shine on me, shine on me. Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory; blaze, Spirit, blaze, set our hearts on fire. Flow, river flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy; send forth your word, Lord, and let there be light! Reading

Hymn 436 Christ triumphant ever reigning Christ triumphant, ever reigning, Saviour, Master, King! Lord of heaven, our lives sustaining, hear us as we sing: Yours the glory and the crown, the high renown, the eternal name!
Word incarnate, truth revealing, Son of Man on earth! Power and majesty concealing by your humble birth: Yours the glory and the crown, the high renown, the eternal name! Suffering servant, scorned, ill-treated, victim crucified! Death is through the cross defeated, sinners justified: Yours the glory and the crown, the high renown, the eternal name! Priestly king, enthroned for ever high in heaven above! Sin and death and hell shall never stifle hymns of love: Yours the glory and the crown, the high renown, the eternal name! So, our hearts and voices raising through the ages long, ceaselessly upon you gazing, this shall be our song: Yours the glory and the crown, the high renown, the eternal name! Prayer of Intercession
Hymn 439
Look ye saints the sight is glorious
Look, ye saints, the sight is glorious! See the Man of Sorrows now, from the fight returned victorious every knee to him shall bow. Crown him! crown him! crown him! crown him! crowns become the Victor's brow. Crown the Saviour, angels, crown him!
in the seat of power enthrone him, while the vault of heaven rings. Crown him! crown him! crown him! crown him! crown the Saviour King of kings! Sinners in derision crowned him, mocked the dying Saviour's claim; saints and angels crowd around him, own his title, praise his name. Crown him! crown him! crown him! crown him! spread abroad the Victor's fame. Hark, those bursts of acclamation! hark, those loud triumphant chords! Jesus takes the highest station Oh, what joy the sight affords! Crown him! crown him! crown him! crown him! King of kings, and Lord of lords! Sermon Prayer of Dedication

This service will go out at 10.30am on Sunday 31st May 2020. It will be streamed on the Church of Scotland website and Facebook pages. The Moderator’s hope is that it will Glorify God, Open us to the Spirit, Inspire the church in these challenging times and bring us together. I commend this to you all and ask you to share as widely as possible. As this occasion allows I’m going to take a break this week, so there will be no live stream broadcast from New Laigh Kirk next Sunday to allow folks to tune into the Moderators national Pentecost service.
